DC Animation “My Adventures with Superman” in the works at Adult Swim & Max

Just watched the S2 finale and I remain impressed. :like:

I can’t say I recall much of Superman: TAS. But I’m thinking that MAWS is rather better. And though comparing animation to live action is tricky, I’ll venture that MAWS is also better than S&L.

One observation/nitpick: I felt that those episodes where Lois was more of a secondary character to (or almost entirely absent from) the main Superman/Kara/Brainiac action were not quite as interesting. But when she’s back in the mix, everything clicks better. IOW, Lois may be the MVP.

Just finished watching series 2 and like S1 it was very enjoyable.
While the STAS Superman remains my favorite Superman in any medium (albeit a bit too weak for my taste) I really like this young, kind, "lover not a fighter" Clark Kent. Infact the scene in the final episode
where Kara was trying to kill CK and it seems like he was about to punch her back but instead he gives her a hearty hug
is just very....Superman! kudos to whoever wrote that scene because it shows a profound understanding of the character IMO.

Lois's abandonment issues and her overall relationship with Sam were well handled. nuff said.

Brainiac was very well handled, being
a (literal) machine that creates and propagates war
is a not so subtle parallel to the Military Industrial Complex that's plaguing the world today. My only complaint was his somewhat generic design but Michael Emerson's voice more than made up for it.

S1, as enjoyable as it was had a villain(s) problem, I thought they were empty and one dimensional, which was fine considering all the effort was dedicated to developing CK, Lois and Jimmy. But this season Livewire in particular got a hefty dose of development and Lex was his usual weasel self; couple that with the aforementioned Brainiac and I'd say they upped the ante on their villains. Really looking forward to
Cyborg Superman and maybe Eradicator or is it Zod on the left of Lex in the villain photo?
.

Overall, I have to say it's really nice for an old fan like me to enjoy some Superman material outside of the comics, which have been quite good recently and with S3 of my adventures and James Gunn's Superman next I pray to Rao that this trend continues.

Its interesting rewatching Voltron, another Mir production, to compare the animation. As much as I am annoyed in the 10 episode season, I think it helps Mir in terms of quality of animation.

Finally got around to S2; there’s some cool things going on in this show. The new spin on Krypton and Brainiac was interesting; and though I didn’t always love the choices made for Lex, it felt like a better-realized adaptation of what they were going for in BvS.

I’m guessing we’ll get Bizarro and Doomsday in the next season
