🏈 NFL - Game On

We all need to have a conversation about if the Chiefs lose to the Colts next Sunday, there's a real possibility that they miss the playoffs.

Bills beat Texans
Jags beat Cardinals

The Chiefs would essentialy be 3 games behind Buffalo, 3 games behind Jacksonville and possibly 3 games behind the LA Chargers because of a division tiebreaker.

I still think their path is gonna revolve around how LA Chargers fare the end of the season. Their schedule is brutal.

The Chiefs season is on the line this Sunday.
If the Bills win, it looks like part of the reason is that Mills is better at hitting the opponents CBs in the back than he is at hitting his receiver's hands.

Hopefully, Mills can figure out how to do the latter.....more later.

Maybe I'm missing something, but could someone explain to me why Josh Allen wasn't flagged for grounding in the 4th QTR just before their FG? He was not outside the tackle box and there was no eligible receiver in the area (he hit one of his linemen). Not that it matters, but it didn't even get past the line of scrimmage.

Was it because someone was hanging all over him and he couldn't really be expected to throw it far enough??? I've never heard of that rule....

EDIT: The Texans tried really hard to lose that game, but never sad to see Allen on the ground.....8 times plus a tackle behind the line of scrimmage where he fell forward for 2 yards.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. I guess the officials thought the throw had been affected by the defense?

LMAO

Bills and Allen proving once again why the are Capital L Losers. That guy will never win a damn thing. Got bailed out all night for sucking, and with the game on the line throws a duck off his back foot instead of to the guy wide ass open for the first. LOSER. Those suckbags better start rooting for Pittsburgh because they sure as hell are not winning a rematch in Baltimore.

You are tempting fate. :funny:

I "think" the rule is that unless the ball is deflected, it's where the ball lands that determines whether or not it's grounding. I've seen a million (or so LOL) plays where the QB is unable to get the ball past the line of scrimmage because someone is hanging on to him and it doesn't matter. The fact is that he was IN the tackle box, under duress, and hit his lineman with a pass with no eligible receiver in the area code.

I'd love to hear the explanation. I'm no rules expert, but I've seen that called more times than I can remember.

Anyway, God's will was done tonight. LOL

EDIT: Mills is not a very good QB, but Houston has a very good looking D. They could cause trouble come playoff time.

The only fate that that region knows is misery.

If anything this suckiness could be a good thing for them. Maybe they'll finally fire that coach who should've been gone 3 years ago.

If the Texan's defense can play anywhere close the way they did tonight (and I don't mean sacks), they are going to make some teams very uncomfortable. It's weird to have a team play such good D and make bonehead plays that put the other team back into the game. It looks like Stroud will be back in 10 days against the Colts and I like their chances against them (and the Chiefs) with Stroud at QB. They end their season against the Colts at home and I think some teams are getting rather nervous.

Of course next week we may all have a laugh at my expense.....I'll put it on my credit card.

If I was a Giant fan, I'd be angling for a high draft spot, but I kind of hope they don't lose another lead in the 4th QTR and lose.....again.

You know everyone is thinking it.......

EDIT: 2:54 left and whoever is calling the plays for the Giants needs to get canned.....yesterday. It's pathetic......

EDIT2: OT and the Giants basically gave this game away. Throwing on 2nd and goal was only the 2nd stupidest call of the day. Going for a TD on 4th and goal from the 6 beat it out for the award.....

My god.....how is that team ever going to win with this level of coaching?

Good on the Colts defense for standing tall when it really needed to. Their last two offensive possessions were really bad coaching. 6 straight pass attempts? How do you not put the ball in the hands of your best player for even one of those plays?

Baffles me when teams take the ball first in OT. I'd rather know what I need to get if other team scores first.

I think the Chiefs are in a good position to make the playoffs now. The Chargers schedule is not ideal.

I've done all I could to be a soccer mom. My son decided he wanted to play football his freshman year of high school. :meh: Anyway, since the Commanders aren't doing so well, I'm thinking about taking my son to the Cowboys/Commanders game on Christmas. Tickets should be more than available for that day.

A lot of people have been telling me all year that I was wrong about Shedeur Sanders. My prediction was that he was going to make a lot of people sorry they passed on him. Granted he hasn't looked that great this year, but I saw something in the Raiders game that tells me I could be right.

The thing I don't think people take into consideration is that he's a rookie on a very poor offensive team and had basically been thrown in there without adequate preparation. I wouldn't expect him to succeed under those circumstances.

Did he make some mistakes last Sunday? Absolutely yes and that is to be expected, but what I saw was a guy who can throw an accurate midrange to deep ball while on the run. I really hope the Browns continue to give him an opportunity because I still think he can be a very good NFL QB. IMO, clearly better than anything else they've got.

If he starts against SF, that's gonna be tough on him, but I think he can learn from facing a good NFL team (as opposed to my Raiders :csad: ).

He's at least starting this week. That much is confirmed

That’s gonna be a rough game for him, but I’m really interested to see how he does. I know it sounds crazy to some people, but I really think he could be the answer at QB for the Browns. Their defense can hang with just about anybody and if they get a couple of people on offense, this could be a completely different team.

Garrett is a freaking beast. How much fun would it be to see him and Aaron Donald on the same D Line? Lol. And I don’t mean for the opposing quarterbacks. I really think those two guys are the best D lineman in the last 10 years. At least those that I can think of off the top of my head and I include the Watt Brothers.

Garrett is probably the best defensive player I have ever seen. Man is a stud.

And I hope Sanders is the guy. This is his tryout!!!

It certainly is and I think he has a chance to pass with a high grade. I wish him the best.

As far as the best defensive player, I really would have to give the nod to Donald. 10 years in the league, 8 All Pros, 10 time Pro Bowler, 3 time defensive player of the year, defensive rookie of the year. EDIT: NFL players voted Donald as the best "player" in the NFL in 2019.

Dude's been retired for a bit now, but if he decided to play for another year, he might garner some interest.

Thinking Jared might need to hire more security guys.....

LT wasn't too bad either.....

The Chiefs are on the brink of missing the playoffs and I'm here for every bit of it!

However, their loss yesterday doesn't quite eliminate them yet. There's still some paths to the 6/7 seed and I think they're gonna get in.

The Chargers have....

Raiders
Eagles
@ Chiefs
@ Dallas
Houston
@ Denver

That's a brutal stretch and with all the Chargers injuries they are dealing with, they need to win 4 of those games if KC wins out. Now lets look at Indianapolis.

The Colts have

Houston
@ Jacksonville
@ Seattle
San Francisco
Jacksonville
@ Houston

Another brutal stretch. Much like the Chargers, they need to win 4 of those games if KC wins out.

Now will KC win out? That's the big question. They still have some tough games. Houston, LA and Denver. Gonna be an interesting watch!

Man, Chicago is a completely different team than what I've come to expect. They had the talent last year, but the coaching was atrocious. That's all changed under Ben Johnson and their O line looks rock solid. They just ran the ball down the Eagles' throats. I have one minor pick...on second and 2 or 3 in Eagles' territory, why throw a pass twice (both incomplete) when you are running the ball like that?

Caleb Williams is starting to look like that #1 pick. He doesn't throw the ball as consistently as does Drake Maye, but man can he help you out in space. Once he gains more consistency with his throws, it's gonna be pick your poison when he rolls out.

BTW, who do people think will be the #1 seed in the NFC and AFC?

I think the Pats are pretty much a lock unless they fall apart. They only have 2 tough games (Bills and Ravens) out of the remaining 5 (Jets, Giants, Miami). Denver is close now, but has much the more difficult schedule.

The Rams are probably favorites, but IF they lose to Seattle, it becomes close to a toss up. They would be tied, but the Hawks have the tougher schedule with the 9ers and the Colts on their schedule. The Rams basically have only one game against a really good opponent (Lions) after they play Seattle.

Yeah I have New England and LA Rams as the #1 seeds right now.

The Rams, IMO, are the best team in the NFL right now. Top 10 offense. Top 10 defense. Best QB.

I would love to see a Rams/Broncos Super Bowl. That offense against that defense would be fun to watch.

I really like Bo Nix, but he's fallen off somewhat. I like him much better than Penix or McCarthy and think he should be one of the most accurate passers in the NFL. I don't see them going too far if he doesn't step up his game though. I had him as the 4th QB in the draft after Williams, Maye, and Daniels. I'm not sure what happened, but, yeah, that Denver D is bad ass.

Rams O line has stepped it up, but I'll be shocked if they don't beef it up substantially in the off season.

Interesting Rams v Panthers game today. I think the Rams are solid across the board, except for their secondary coverage. It's been masked because their front 7 have put a lot of pressure on QBs and, even though they aren't getting tons of sacks, they are forcing a lot of hurries. When they don't, their backs get beat deep. They are really good coming up and making tackles, but their coverage kinda sucks. They are not going to beat a lot of good teams if they don't fix that.

Their O line has looked really good and McVay made a big mistake by not sticking with the run. It was working and would have won them that game. Sean will (rightfully) blame himself for the loss, but he was going to do that anyway. It doesn't matter with him. When they win, it's the players. When they lose, it's on him. I'm sure the players appreciate that.

I see the Rams going CB and O line in the off season. While their O line has done well, it's rather fragile and needs help. If a QB miraculously falls to them with the ATL pick, they could go QB.

Glad to see the Jets beat the Falcons. The NY fans need SOMETHING this year. Go Giants!

Horrible, HORRIBLE officiating in the Denver DC game. The officials are deciding this game and it's a shame. If DC can pull this out, it will be in spite of very bad officiating.
