🏈 NFL - Game On

You know, intentional grounding is one of those rules I thought I knew pretty well. Alas multiple times this year, officiating crews have told me I don't. How is it that all these veteran crews keep screwing up these calls? It's not a hard rule.

Interesting Rams v Panthers game today. I think the Rams are solid across the board, except for their secondary coverage. It's been masked because their front 7 have put a lot of pressure on QBs and, even though they aren't getting tons of sacks, they are forcing a lot of hurries. When they don't, their backs get beat deep. They are really good coming up and making tackles, but their coverage kinda sucks. They are not going to beat a lot of good teams if they don't fix that.

Their O line has looked really good and McVay made a big mistake by not sticking with the run. It was working and would have won them that game. Sean will (rightfully) blame himself for the loss, but he was going to do that anyway. It doesn't matter with him. When they win, it's the players. When they lose, it's on him. I'm sure the players appreciate that.

I see the Rams going CB and O line in the off season. While their O line has done well, it's rather fragile and needs help. If a QB miraculously falls to them with the ATL pick, they could go QB.

Glad to see the Jets beat the Falcons. The NY fans need SOMETHING this year. Go Giants!

I thought the Panthers/Rams game was gonna be a slaughter. Panthers were banged up defensvily, but somehow managed to make Stafford look human. The Panthers are a good football team when they want to be. I was also surprised the Rams abandon the run. Was working really well for them.

This NFL season has been crazy. As soon as someone looks like the clear favorite, they come out and look horrible. I honestly could make a case for 20 teams on how they could win the Super Bowl.

Some great playoff implicating matchups next week.

Cowboys/Lions - Playoff hopes on the line
Steelers/Ravens - Winner takes Division lead
Bucs/Saints - Bucs loss puts Panthers in tie for division lead
Colts/Jaguars - Winner takes division lead
Bears/Packers - Winner takes division lead
Texans/Chiefs - Chiefs loss all but eliminates them/Texans win and helps playoff chances
Eagles/Chargers - Eagles loss and Cowboys win makes division race tighter.

The fact that the Eagles could miss the playoffs entirely along with the Chiefs is insane. I keep running through scenerios on ESPN's playoff machine. This is what I have as of today.

1. Patriots
2. Texans
3. Broncos
4. Baltimore
5. Jacksonville
6. Buffalo
7. Chiefs

1. Rams
2. Bears
3. Eagles
4. Buccaneers
5. Seahawks
6. 49ers
7. Packers

Yeah.....it doesn't happen often, but McVay really screwed that game up. The Panthers got the breaks they needed, but just decided to sit on the pass (even after the Ram run game was working) and the Rams gave them what they needed. I think they got overconfident and thought they were gonna walk all over Carolina (and they could have). I think it shows how little difference there is between teams in the NFL (if you exclude the Titans LOL). The Giants could be over .500 if the coaching staff knew what the hell they were doing and when (not if) they clean house there, they could be this year's Bears in 2026.

Speaking of the Bears.......raise your hand if you had them as the #1 seed in the NFC after 13 weeks (Now put it down you EFFING liars :funny: ). Ditto for the Pats. Man, that's crazy....If anyone really did say that they'd be the #1 seeds in their respective conferences, they probably would have been institutionalized.

Bears are legit. Coach Johnson has turned them around. They finally have a winning culture. Used to live in Chicago. Still have alot of close friends there. The whole town is electric and everyone is excited.

Agreed. They weren't suffering from a lack of talent and, as much as I personally like Eberflus personally, he was wrong as a HC. Johnson, OTOH, is one of "those" guys. Great hire by the Bears....great hire and whether they win their division or not, they are definitely on the right path. Also, Williams is just freaking ridiculous. He's the closest thing there is to a young Mahomes and is getting better. I love Maye, but can't in any way fault Chicago for picking Williams at #1. Some of the S**t he does is just stupidly good. I'm glad for the Bears fans and they deserve to be excited. I don't know that they'll get by the Packers, but they've got a shot.

Speaking of stupidly good. Did anyone see that catch by Nacua yesterday? I don't know that I've ever seen a better catch than that. That was just freaking nuts. See below...

I think Mike Tomlin is gonna be the next head coach of the Giants in 2026. I think his time with Steelers is done and I think it's gonna be good for both to start fresh. That Steelers head coaching vacancy will be the best spot in years since they have a knack of holding onto their coaches no matter how bad it gets.

I always bring up Brian Flores as a head coaching candidate for teams. He worked for the Steelers a few years ago. I think he could be a good hire. The Steelers also like to hire young, so Jesse Minter from the Chargers would be an interesting choice. He's worked under both Jim and John Harbaugh.

As for the Bears, no, I don't think anyone had them as the #1 seed. It's always cool to see someone new at the top. The crazy thing about the NFC playoff picture, if things don't go their way, they could be out of playoffs entirely in 3 weeks! Everything is tight coming down to the last 5 weeks!

Yeah.....I heard that on the MNF pregame show and "maybe" the Steelers let him go, but.....MAN....I'd hate to do that if I were them. The Pittsburg problem is not a coaching issue. It's an upstairs issue. Tomlin has done a phenomenal job with what he has year after year after year after....

I never even considered Tomlin as the G's coach, but that would be a major score if they landed him and it might very well make them the Bears of 2026. IF IF IF Tomlin becomes available, I can PROMISE you that teams are going to be breaking down his front door to talk to him. The Giants have a ton of talent and if you're a top notch coach, it's a dream job if you can get the control you need.

I know @P Supreme wouldn't be crushed if Tomlin was the Giants' new coach.

Ahhhh.....I see the Pats are wearing them old, ugly ass helmets. LOL
