🏒 NHL: What the puck??

It was a clean hit. Jacob Trouba was going for the shoulder. People have gotten soft. Luckily, the captain rightfully avoided suspension again, but silly people will continue calling him dirty when it is clean! The Rangers have not lost in regulation this year. 5-0-1, we passed the Devils for the top spot in the metro, got contributions from every line, both goalies look sharp, and our cap space is a mess. We rolled back the same team when everyone made changes. Outsiders call our fanbase bandwagon annually when the playoffs start, and we got one cup in 84 years. Whom do they think we are, the Devils or Pittsburgh? It takes character to root for the team that breaks our hearts each year. It is going to be a dogfight for the top spot. December 2nd, NJD VS NYR. It will probably be a playoff preview! Those games are always fun, and I enjoy playfully taunting their pompous fans. I was going to go to that November 29th game against Philly, but it's in Philly, so I'm good. I'll go to the December 2nd game at that garden! So, I don't have to worry about getting tossed out for what I say to the Devil's fans or the safety of my family when the Flyers get steamrolled by the New York Rangers at Wells Fargo Center. I think everyone can expect some fights in the stands to get instigated by Philly fans.

I'm disappointed to lose four in a row. None of those teams have on paper our talent, hopefully, we can beat Philly today.

I'm stunned that the New Rangers have lost six out of our last seven games. We all pay good money to come out and watch them. They kept showing up flat and hanging Mike Richter 2.0 Igor to dry. I'd be shocked if he re-signs if this slide continues. The one game we won in the past few days didn't feel like a win and quick was in the net when you beat MTL 3-1 going into the third and blowing the lead, winning 4-3 with less than a minute in the game. The blue line needs some changes, but bad contracts from the previous regime hamper GM and ex-Rangers captain Chris Drury from making moves to improve the team. If the season concluded this week, it would be debatable if we even get into the playoffs. The Flyers and Blue Jacks are surging. Thank God for an eighty-two-game schedule. It allows flexibility to make mistakes, but it doesn't sit right with me to watch us lose in games. We should be prevailing in. We were in first to start the year, so it's not a skill or talent issue. New Year's Eve will tell the story. We could be out of contention by that point or be back to playing our game in the hunt.

I've been an NY Rangers fan my whole life. I've never seen them play so lifelessly. We need couch-like torts next year to hold them accountable for what they did this year. We are playing like the worst team in the NHL right now. The only players who show up every night to play are the goaltenders, and they make the scores look closer than they deserve to be. We are grateful to have Igor re-signed. I'm sorry to see Jacob go. At the same time, he gets to play near Disneyland with a young, talented group of hockey players in some great weather.

The NY Rangers are 6-1-3 in our last ten with nine straight points! We are back in the playoff discussion after the frustrating months of November and December. Igor has back-to-back shutouts!

It's so fitting that in the hockey team that marketed itself to American kids growing up in the tri-state area, everyone idolized Mike Richter for what he did in 1994 and the 1996 World Cup of hockey. He set the standard for American goaltenders to get held to, and Jonathan Quick grew up a Rangers fan and as a local kid who idolized the goat, Mike Richter. So it is fitting that he is the first American goaltender to win 400 career wins, and he did it at msg in front of the best fans in the game! He's living the dream as a kid. We all dreamed of doing that, and he made it a reality. I'm so proud of him!

The U.S. Men’s National Team dined with hockey legends: 1980 Olympic gold medalists Mike Eruzione and Rob McLanahan, American icon Mike Modano, and Guy Gaudreau, father of Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau!

The U.S. Men’s National Team may have lost this match, but I believe they have a bright future in international hockey. One moment that stood out was when Canadian fans booed the U.S. national anthem. This wasn’t just a one-time event; it could have long-term effects. Such disrespect might make American players think twice about playing in Canada, leading them to consider trades or be cautious about signing with Canadian teams.

It's hard to imagine top stars like Connor Hellebuyck, Brady Tkachuk, or Auston Matthews wanting to finish their careers with Canadian teams after facing such negativity.

Also, the officiating during the game was questionable. It seemed like Team USA missed out on several power play opportunities that could have changed the game. At the same time, Canada seemed to get away with some rule violations, such as having too many players on the ice without any penalties. One particular moment that caught my attention was when JT Miller from the New York Rangers got hit in the face with a stick, and no penalty was called. This showed a troubling inconsistency in how the game was officiated.

Even though this match didn’t go Team USA’s way, I believe they will come back stronger and more united in the future!

:whatever:

Do you actually know why we're booing the US anthem?

NHL players will play wherever they can bag the most money. I think you're naïve if you believe American players will boycott playing for Canadian teams from now on. But hey, I have no objection if the MAGA Tkachuks and JT "Blue Lives Matter" Miller will only play for an American team in the future.

In Calgary, there’s a palpable void felt due to the absence of prominent American hockey players like the late Johnny Gaudreau and Matthew Tkachuk. It would be exciting to see Brady Tkachuk join the New York Rangers. I’m not being naïve in stating a clear observation: the booing of the American flag is disconcerting, particularly when considering that players like Auston Matthews, who revitalized the Toronto Maple Leafs, and Connor Hellebuyck, recognized as one of the top American goaltenders currently in the league with the Winnipeg Jets, represent American talent.

This sentiment is particularly pronounced in venues like Bell Centre, where Cole Caufield plays. He has openly expressed his disdain for this behavior, considering it disrespectful—and rightfully so. For those players enticed by lucrative contracts, the financial advantage of playing in the U.S. is noteworthy, as the value of the American dollar often surpasses that of the Canadian dollar.

The American players of the New York Rangers delivered an outstanding performance on Hockey Day in America! JT Miller scored two goals, while Adam Fox and Jimmy Vesey also found the back of the net! Additionally, the future captain, Vincent Trocheck, along with Ryan Lindgren and K'Andre Miller, provided assists that contributed to the team's success. I am so grateful that JT Miller is back with the Rangers after being away for a few years! If we had had him for the past three seasons and replaced Kakko with him, we might have made it to the finals!

I live in Montréal so, yeah, I know what Caufield said to our media. I was at the MTL-MIN game last month and participated in the booing and I will do it again in April when the Panthers come here.

PS: You haven't answered my question so I will not continue this conversation until you do so.
