i did not know that's what that film was about until recently
May December
To me,
Julianne Moore>>>>Mehryl Streep. Always.
So this was a lifetime movie done via the pov of an auteur. This was fun, dark, comedic in moments where I think it wasn't suppose to be. The film carries the ham type plot on its sleeves and it was great. Portman goes toe to toe with Moore, but that Charles Melton fellow is a revelation, he can act his ass off. He definitely should get an oscar nom. Also, for those of us who grew up in the 90s, this story which is loosely based on was all the fuzz. Crazy to say outloud, but this story at least in my mind was the original student/teacher scandal that I can remember getting so much coverage. 90s had this case, OJ, 2pac murder back to back. One of the best films of the year for me.
8/10

I need to do this myself. I'm trying to figure out the best method to do it and the most efficient way I can think of is going through movie lists by year of release and checking off the ones I've seen.I've finally added and rated every film I've ever watched to letterboxd. It's almost at 4K.

I don’t like posting in my mobile cuz of 500 ads per page so I’ll just quote this until I can edit it laterI’ve knocked two movies of the long list of things I haven’t seen but probably my should today:
Children of Men
Love Actually
What a pair? The only thing they have in common besides British movies is that Chiwetel Ejiofore (sp?) is in both.
Not sure I feel the need to ever watch them again but they were good all the same. I might’ve enjoyed Love Actually a little more if there were a few less couples and a little more of their story to delve into. Kinda felt like samples of dishes but never a full entree. I guess that was the point?
Also Children of Men was, well, the word that keeps coming to mind when I think of my opinion is visceral. It was ugly. It was hopeful. It was dark and realistic sadly. The long shots were well done and definitely stick out to me as I think back.
Not sure about Clive Owen and Eric Bana but apparently Eckhart is a d-bag.Who did Aaron Eckhart piss off? You can add Clive Owen and Eric Bana to that list. lawd.
