I've mentioned this before, but just done rewatching my yearly viewing of S1mone. This is such a bad movie, but for whatever reason it haunts me. Pacino plays a director who creates the perfect AI actress. Pacino wearing an awful wig and lifts. The director of the great ''Gattacca'' directed this! This was suppose to be it, him establishing himself as the second coming in science fiction films, but he delivers an artistic pile of poo, but I can't look away. I'm not a shamed to admit that i've seen this more times than citizen kane.

I ask other brave bald men and women here to follow me in to abyss.

Its a hard pill to swallow with age and time recently.... Movies and franchises that seem like yesterday are nearing or past the 20 year mark now.... where has the time gone.

It's so funny to me how Film Twitter is all about yearning for a return of artfully made mid-budget genre flicks and then when A24 announces they're planning to do essentially that, they lose their minds that they "sold out."

Some people really just seem to think that art making money is an inherently a bad thing.

Yeah, watching all the A24 Film Bros flip out on twitter today has been hilarious.

And that mindset just implies that there should only be $5-15M films or $150M+ films. They're highlighting the problem without even realizing it. You can, surprise surprise, make action or IP films without breaking the bank. They haven't even spoken on the budgets of these particular projects.

Strangely, I don't find this totally concerning because Best Buy as a company seems like it's in danger anyway. When Target stops carrying them, then I'll worry.

I hope (and believe) physical media will eventually do like the vinyl and MPs and have a triumphant -never really gone- return.

I do think that buying physical media in stores will go away before physical media does. We'll just have to resort to online shopping for them. Much as I hate to admit it, most of my 4K purchases these days are online anyway and if they aren't, Target is my go-to spot. I think that in the past year I've only bought one disc release from Best Buy and that was only because I had $5 off.

My Targets have the worst selection when it comes to films. All but replaced by books. Nothing worth looking for anymore.

They should be fine. I don't really see their releases carried in big box stores other than Barnes & Noble.

No matter how I have to get them, I'll be keeping it physical when it comes to comics and movies.

Most Targets around me don't even put out new Blu-ray/4K releases out until at least late morning/early afternoon on the day of release. You either have to ask a worker to go in the back to get it or you have to order for online pickup, in which case they get it ready shortly after they open in the morning. It used to be that the shelves would be stocked before opening but at the end of the day I guess it's better for them to carry them but treat them as a low priority than to not sell them at all.
