Am I the first person to discover that Captain Haddock in the Tintin movie kinda looks like Barry Keoghan? :o

I see it.

Everyone: Go watch that movie, underrated as heck.
I was thinking about it the other day for the first time in a while when I was talking about Spielberg with a friend of mine. It's got to be his most underrated blockbuster in the sense that it's probably his most forgotten blockbuster. I haven't seen it in about 12 years but it's definitely worth a watch for the outstanding animation alone.

Holy Spider

Great flick. I’m angry at myself for not watching this sooner. One of the great serial killer type movies in recent years by far. Hell, this be a great double feature with Memories of Murder, if one were up for that kind of viewing, lawd. 9/10

I liked Border more than Holy Spider from Abbasi. Something about Holy Spider didn't connect with me, but it did have some intense brutality and suspense to it. I'll rewatch it at some point though.

Border is so good. More ppl should've seen that one. These two flicks show how talented Abbasi is and that Trump flick might actually be interesting coming from him.

In specialty box office news... Poor Things seems to be doing decent numbers:

$28M domestic; $68M world wide (and counting).

Border blew me away tbh. Incredible performances too. Stan taking the Trump role surprised me, so I was interested in that decision, then I saw Abbasi was on board so I'm all for it.

Speaking of I told you so, I'm in the middle of watching God is a Bullet (uncut) and @antsman41, @Black Narcissus, and @Boom you gotta check it out. It's Maika Monroe unhinged.
Hell Yeah...

On that topic, there's a dive bar a block from Cinema 21 here in Portland and I went to grab a beer before Zone Of Interest and this bar had Watcher playing on all of the tvs.

The bartender is also a film guy and always does this, I guess.

If I had jus a iota less common sense that I have right now I'd bought a dog (Italian greyhound??) years ago for the express purpose of naming him Dunkaccino.

I've been having this recurring thought that I think we are experiencing a good era of movies *except* for blockbusters.
The offer in different genres (mainly dramas and horror, stuff from studios like A24 or Neon) is quite big and interesting but I can't seem to find a single great BIG movie that I've really really liked in the last several years. Even the ones I've liked (John Wick 4, GOTG Vol 3) I'm not that eager to revisit any time soon.

I must admit that this bums me out. Pacino and Deniro are two of my favorite actors of all time. I also think of a time machine and taking some of their awful stuff and showing all that crap to young Pacino and Deniro. Like, imagine showing a young Deniro his performance in Dirty Grandpa and then you go down the list. As you're about to get back in the time machine,,,''Oh, by the way, you both will have another kid in your 80s and you both be in diapers.''

I'm of two minds about it. On the one hand yeah it's embarrassing but on the other hand, guys like De Niro and Pacino have made their mark and won their accolades so why not do a couple of stupid paycheck comedies to pay for their infant children's college tuition?

This was floating around on Facebook:

cape-fear-tom-hardy-remake-726x1024.jpg

While I'm not surprised at how many gullible people there are who believed that this was real, I have to say that Tom Hardy as Max Cady isn't necessarily something that I'd hate to see either.

Woke up early had me a nice cigar and coffee pairing. For the one cigar aficionado on here, it was the new ''mil dias maduro' by crown heads. My neighbor was blasting Lynyrd Skynyrd's Simple Man. I'm assuming the other neighbors were annoyed by this, but it was a delightful moment for me.

I also finally hit play on 'American Fiction.'

Jeffrey Wright is simply great here! But the man is always great in every role I've seen him in thus far. A few cliche things with a certain character aside, this was one of the best films of the year. Tracee Ellis Ross does great with her screen time, she has always been an underrated actress who deserved better on the big screen to kepp it a buck.. I now prefer Wright's performance over Giamatti. They don't make a lot of these flicks for a black lead! I'm happy it was Wright.

8/10

Was watching Masters of the Air and it came to me.
Austin Butler, with lips like that, would be a perfect Alex Murphy/Robocop in the "reboot that never was".
