Maika Monroe

The other side of the coin to Anya Taylor Joy. Bald @Kane52630 and I are probably the only two on the entire hype who seen her in ‘Watcher’. So I’m happy she might have somewhat of a big hit next in a few days. I’m ready. We ready.

Days of Heaven

My first rewatch in over a decade or so.

Before Terrence Malick went onto long form gibberish, he had a balance. The 4k criterion release is absolutely beautiful. We film at dusk! An absolute madman and his DP was going blind, it resulted in one of the most beautiful live paintings ever made? I think so.

Yeah, I don't think Apple cares too much about box office. They didn't seem to be too bothered about Killers of the Flower Moon or Napoleon's performances either. I'm sure they'd like to make some money off of one of these but it's not a significant loss for them at all. If anything I'd wager they're more in it for awards season glory than anything.

My point was more so that it doesn't look like a $100 million movie, but yes, Apple can take a hit, they're virtually unsinkable.

It's a really interesting place they hold in the moviemaking market. I hope Apple keeps bankrolling these projects, especially from people like Scott and Scorsese.
Definitely not, but Scarlett Johansson probably took home almost a quarter of that by starring in and producing it. Channing Tatum and Woody Harrelson probably don't come cheap either.

This is gonna sound like one of the most hipster questions ever but...

Do you guys prefer one or the other:

1. A 10/10 film that you love but will never get the wide reach and popularity that you want it to have... but it allows you to have a small cult following.

2. A 10/10 film that you love that also gets the wide reach and popularity that you want it to have... but that will cause you to read/listen to all the dumb and terrible takes by normies about the film.

I'm starting to like #1 more and more especially after Longlegs. :o

My first immediate thought is the Possession homage scene from The First Omen.

It's gonna be a Kramer vs. Kramer battle for who gets to keep HBO. :o

I just randomly remembered the horror film Stigmata and I was like oh yeah that's the girl who suffers a crucifixion.

Last year I logged 31 films for the whole year. My lowest since I’ve been keeping track. I now have the same amount of films seen so far for this one, so it’s going better. Eh.

31 from 2023, or 31 total?

Edit: 2024*
