Anthony Pettis is an absolute gangster, first person in Stephen Thompson's career, including a 58-0 kickboxing record, to knock him out.

TJ Dillashaw Has Voluntary Vacated The Title After Being Flagged By USADA

Bet it was something he took to help him in some capacity with the 125lb weight cut, the fact that he willingly relinquished the 135lb title would lead you to believe that he willingly took something he knew was questionable.

I wonder about McGregor. All that money and for the first time in his life there is nothing to really keep him focused and disciplined. I can see him going down hill really, really quickly. ****ing imbecile. I wouldn't be surprised if in 10 years hes skint and is a full blown coke head.

He might be an egotistical prick, but the dude seems like he's far from being a druggie and that he's all about making money.

He's more like Mayweather in the sense that he just utilizes the fight game as a springboard for other business ventures.

Kudos to both for knowing how to game the system

He's already bang on the powder now and has cheated on his missus who stood by him when he was on the dole multiple times in the last few months. Plus there is a very real rape allegation hovering over him. Whereas up until a year ago he was 100% loyal to her. Yea hes always been a cocky guy, but he used to be quite affable and humble outside of promotions. Something has changed in him since the Mayweather fight.

I think he has a much more self destructive personality than Floyd.

Honestly I don't think you see him going broke anytime soon, his whiskey is killing it, to quote the man himself. "I have an unhealthy obsession with spending money, but I have a healthy obsession with making it. So it's all good."

He's also got other ventures like clothing and other drinks in the pipeline. Even if he never fights again I doubt we see him go broke.

As far the rape allegations go I will throw him under the bus and happily call him a pos scumbag if it comes out to be true but until then I reserve judgement as of now it is just that an allegation.

I'm a firm believer that in almost all cases, money does not change who you are, it just makes you a bigger version of what you currently are. Fame on the other hand changes people, most fighters go from having nothing/very little to having everything especially on the levels McGregor's had which you could liken to Tyson or Mayweather at their peaks.

What was it that somewhat stopped both of them from spiralling further out of control than they already were? Jail time, for very serious crimes. Does McGregor need jail time to sort himself out? Not necessarily jail but he certainly needs to have that sobering punishment or realisation that he can't get away with everything he has been getting away with & that actions have consequences.

Sounds to me like the guy got what he deserved. Always makes me wonder how some people think it's going to go when they approach sporting stars in a public setting (particularly pubs or a setting with alcohol) & start to take the piss, as if they know them.

I'd read the other day that Jordan Pickford was involved in a bar fight after he'd been taunted by a couple of random strangers over some of his goalkeeping errors.

I'd be very surprised if either got any significant punishment, in the UK/Ireland in most cases sport stars seem to get away with this sort of thing because most of the time they're being provoked as opposed to being the aggressive party.

Provoked to hit someone who didn't hit you... okay. :funny:

Would you not class verbal abuse/taunting as provocation?

You're not one of this new generation that thinks you can talk **** to people's face & expect to not get slapped are you?

For physical violence? No. And that it is Conor, Mr. Trash Talk makes it ring far more hollow as an excuse. He can dish it out, but can't take it? Also Conor being violent is pretty well established at this point, so this is a him issue.

I am from the generation where you don't strike people for words. That is even what the law says, so I don't even know how this is controversial. :funny:

And before you ask, yes, I believe in exception, just like Captain America.

I dunno what happened here... but in Pickfords case I agreed with him. He was getting abused for some time and tried to laugh it off. Then they called his wife a fat slag...

I wouldve wrapped a bottle round the ***** head.

Chat ****, get banged lol.

I'm obviously assuming because I've yet to see any CCTV or camera phone footage of the incident, but I highly doubt McGregor sought out a random stranger & started trash talking him. The article you posted made it seem like McGregor was among friends & was being taunted by someone even more drunk than he probably was & he ended up hitting him a smack.

Has there ever been a generation in which there wasn't the threat of being smacked if you're being overly disrespectful to someones face? I know this generation seems to think you can get away with it without ramifications.

The law says lots of things, I'd be very surprised if he's actually charged with anything it will be "minor" battery & the guy he punched will probably get a harassment charge for taunting him.

Exactly this.

In Pickford's case there was a video that lasted about a minute long & he was getting heckled by what sounded like a couple of guys, then there's a scuffle video which looks like it's later in the night, so I would surmise that the heckles & taunts were going on for most of the evening. Like if he'd punched the perpetrators out they could have no complaints, might be able to get away with talking **** on the internet behind the safety of a screen or at a football stadium shouting onto the pitch, but within arms reach of him & you're going to be disrespectful.. what do people expect is going to happen. :funny:

Didn't Steven Gerrard hit some guy in a bar as well for taunting him?

USADA suspends Dillashaw 2 years for EPO use

"I'm quite familiar with EPO from my days investigating professional cycling teams," Jeff Novitzky, UFC vice president of athlete health and performance, told ESPN. "It's a very effective substance. It's not a substance you find in contaminated supplements; it's injectable only. You have to know what you're doing when it enters your system.

"On a scale of seriousness in anti-doping, it's up near the top."

He's tarnished his legacy with this, if it was something he could brush off as a contaminated product, wouldn't have hurt as much ala Jon Jones.

They apparently went back & tested one of his older samples for EPO & it came back positive as well, Cody Garbrandt was calling on them to go back & test more of his samples to see how far back he's been doing it because Cody tweeted him a few years ago before their first fight about EPO use.

Yeah you want to chat **** to a professional fighter especially when alcohol's involved then you are asking for it imo lol.

Think this was maybe this blokes first time away from his keyboard and realised that this stuff doesn't fly in real life:funny:

EPO is dumb for multiple reasons. One, not necessary. You an get most of the benefits elsewhere, like high altitude training. Second, yeah, you really can't do anything but admit it. No way that can be "wrongly" in your blood.

What.A.Fight.

Gastelum has an iron chin, I realise he was completely out of it at the end, but the amount of clean shots that snapped his neck about from Adesanya throughout the 5 rounds was incredible.

Ref probably should have stopped it though there at the very end of the 5th because Gastelum was done.

That Gastelum and Israel fight was one of the best fights I've watched in a long time. Incredible. Adesanya is legit as hell coming back as strong as he did in the last round after the fourth. And that brief grappling exchange was madness.

Wow. Another crazy tough fight between Holloway & Poirier.

I think Poirier maybe got the 1st 2 rounds, Holloway 3rd & 4th, the 5th was pretty even.

There is nothing worse then an interim title.

Poirier takes it, think they said 49-46 on all 3 cards unless I misheard, don't dispute the decision. They are both current/former featherweights, but I think it was clear Poirier hadn't fought at FW for a few years, he looked a lot thicker & his punches had a lot more sting to them.

If Holloway wants to fight at LW, he needs to give up the FW title & move up more permanently. It will be hard for him to close the gap size wise on LW's, while he's still trying to maintain the FW title otherwise his weight cuts to FW will get extremely difficult.

There is nothing worse then an interim title.

In the last few years it has got quite ridiculous as they come up after such a short period. The only time interim titles should come up if a champion has been inactive in a division for say 6-9 months for whatever reason.

Then when it reaches 365 days, the champion needs to have a bout agreement in place to defend the title & if for whatever reason he/she pulls out of the fight, then he should forfeit the title, interim gets promoted. Robert Whittaker's situation is getting a little ridiculous, he's had the title near 2 years & he's only fought once he's been that plagued with injury.
