The only downside to Team USA Women winning the Olympics in Soccer is that one of their top players, Catarina Macario wasn't there to celebrate it. She was named to the team initially but had to withdraw due to knee irritation. The hope is that she will eventually get her chance to shine at a global stage.

FYI, she missed the disastrous Women's World Cup Run due to a torn ACL. It would be a real shame if she never got a chance to play for Team USA at the Olympics or World Cup due to injuries.

The last event in the 2024 Olympics...Women's Basketball Gold medal match, USA vs France (again)

Through the first 2 quarter it is a very low scoring game with 25-25 tied.
A lot of missing shots, missing shots, missing FTs, and a lot of turnovers for the US...France defense is really good!

Lets see how they adjust in the 2nd half...
I believe the US must win this gold to tie the gold medal with China (currently China 40 golds, US 39 golds...if the US win this last gold medal game, they will be tied at 40 golds with China but counting the total silver and bronze that the US had more, the US will get the no.1 overall standing)

The US survive with a 67-66 win to grab gold #40! Congrats!

The US won the game...but seeing the game, it is clear that the women's team needs a fresh blood comes 2028.

Hope they won't omit Caitlin Clark again in the future.

Well done to USA for once again finishing on top of the medals table. They along with China finished with 40 gold medals but because USA won more Silver and Bronze medals than China, they finished on first position and China finished at number two spot.
