🥇Paris 2024 Summer Olympics

Might be silly to put spoiler tags as the news alerts are everywhere but just in case folks wanted to wait to watch gymnastics in primetime; just want to say WAY TO GO SIMONE AND SUNI!

Simone did what she was born to do and came through again. I still haven't gotten over the criticism she got over the "twisties" situation in Tokyo, but this should end any grifter talk going forward about her competitive spirit.

But as clutch as Simone is, Suni had a special kind of clutch gene in her today. She was hovering between 6th and 7th place all day up until the final event, and just came through an amazing floor performance to shoot all the way up to the bronze. I thought she was toast after her beam got an average score but now she's sharing the podium.

Sensational.

Also watched an AWESOME table tennis match earlier today in Individual Women's between South Korea's Shin Yubin and Japan's Hirano Miu. If y'all can access it, watch it.

Don’t apologize at all. I didn’t see the game (US broadcasts often fail to show basketball) so it was a blast having you call it on here.

Really stinks to lose on a bad call.

I still haven’t gotten over UK losing to Florida in overtime in 2014 on the last play of the game when play clock and game clock had already hit zero before the play got off.

Really appreciate it...thanks 😀 hehee

Lost again at the last group match against Brazil 84-102.
Japan gave it all in these 3 group matches so I am proud of how we fought till the end and no doubt we will be better comes 2028. (In 2028, we will have Tominaga Keisei on our roster!)

But still can't quite get over losing to France like that...it still stinks! I want a revenge game next time Japan meet France (hopefully we can meet them in the World Cup BB 2026 and Olympics 2028!)

Meanwhile I am sad that swimming event has only 3 days left

Swimming so far has been the best event in these Olympics...from the Goat Katie Ledecky won the 1500m,...the legendary race between Ledecky vs Titmus vs McIntosh,... to Leon Marchand winning double golds on the same day, I have been witnessing one of the best sport events in history.

Finally decathlon time! After 3/10 Neugebauer, Warner and Delerme leading the score. But Skotheim, European Champion, with a lot of PB/SB so far, so he is on his way. Kaul performed usually very bad at 100m, long jump and shot put with day 2 his much stronger day, but he performed more bad than usually and has no chance now.

Baldwin won highjump with 217cm!!! Standings after 4 of 10 events.

Gold candidate Skotheim missed all 3 attemps in pole vault. Ouch!!!
Also Urena failed all!

Warner, Skotheim and Urena with 0. Rooth will win gold if Neugebauer doesnt improve.

Just saw Julien Alfred win the 100m. What a powerhouse!

The 4x400m mixed relay was great too. Femke Bol is something else.

Im very happy for Niklas Kaul here after the very bad start. Olympic record in javelin throw and winning 1500m is a nice happy ending for him.

My goodness...the swimming event is killing it!!

Ledecky beat Titmus in 800m freestyle final and team USA beat team China in 4x100m mixed medley relay final (it was really close race!! But I really happy that team USA beat team China...after that dopping scandal and how some of them try to deny it, it feels wrong to have them win...so happy and congrats to Team USA!

Epic quarter final in the Mens Hockey ended with 10 men India knocking out GB in a penalty shoot-out 4-2. India played most of the game without a full team but dug in to the bitter end and were clearly better at the pens. Well done to them.
