1 episode I wish they would have....

This may be a bit late to do, but they did not do it with Pete or Chloe, maybe they can do it with Oliver? I would love to see someone put Clark through his paces and get him to test the thresh holds of his powers, you know something like a "ok Clark show me what you got episode" put him through some tests. It may even be what Clark needs to see that he does have more to offer the world than just what he has done in Smallville.

When I mean tests I mean either litteral tests or Oliver could be pushing Clark by setting up some "challenges" and by the end of the episode Clark catches on but Oliver states it was all to show Clark he does have more to offer...

Or maybe now that he's meeting some baddies from the Phantom zone Chloe suggests they test Clark out so he kinda has a feel for what he is truely cappable of?


I don't know I would have loved to see this already happen with Pete or Chloe....they could have let Clark show off at least once...

That would be very cool. I know they're always complaining about not having him fly because of the cost restraints of the visual effects, but it would be nice to have one episode where they go all out.

anyhow, I think that Dr. Hamilton should do it, after being rescued from his fate in season 1 (didn't he turn into goo or something?). And it should be Lionel who tests Clark (b/c, having a friend do it is safe).

He hasn't really been able to test Clark reliably, however.

In Mortal he tried to test him and it failed because Clark was without his powers.

If Lex were finally able to "test" Clark, it would be against his will... Clark wouldn't want to show Lex his powers voluntarily.

But you could always go the labrat!Clark route, have Clark kidnapped (for once) and then tested involuntarily...

But how would you force Superman perform to the limits of his powers against his will?

The only problem I see with it is like Hulk said, it would be way expensive and blow their budget. We'd be getting "Lucy" type episodes for the rest of the season, and who wants that.

The only other way I could see them fitting this idea in is near the end of the series when Clark has decided to persue helping the world and someone maybe even Lana will be there to ask Clark what his limits really are?

Clark: If this world is going to make it I have to be able to act without having to worry about not being seen.

Lana: So your really going to do this?

Clark: I had a talk with my mom and she agreed its the right thing to do......What do you think....

Lana: I think the world will never be the same........

Clark: (Looks at Lana) Is that a good thing?

Lana: (looks at Clark) Yes, Clark its a good thing...

Clark: (gives his goofy I still like Lana smile)

Lana: Clark, before you do this have you taken yourself for a test drive?

Lana: Well have you ever tried to find your limitations....?

Dont you think with all these PZ baddies coming into the episodes for Clark to fight, that this will be happening? His limits have never been tested before, but with these PZ baddies he's going to have to up his powers.
