Brain Damage's assigned Movie to remake is...Only God Forgives!

Well. This is an interesting one to try and remake. I'd start with rewriting about 90% of the dialogue. Though there isn't much to begin with, most of what was there was pretty terrible. Second, I'd give Ryan Gosling's character something to do besides just stand around for 80% of the movie. The basic plot was good, and a lot of the subtle details were fantastic, but I'd embellish the story and make it a more coherent and interesting narrative.

Where do you see yourself and what do you see yourself doing 10 years from now?
Writing screenplays for feature length films. In a perfect world, I'd also be directing and editing them. If not that, I also wouldn't mind being an English teacher, probably on the high school level.

What is your first name?
Brain.

Who do you feel closest to here on the Hype?
While I don't necessarily have any Hype-bros or brahs, there are some posters on here who I respect and consider friends. The Joker is someone whom I often see eye to eye with, and who has been kind enough to offer feedback on my work. BatLobsterRises is someone whom I don't often see eye to eye with, but whom I have great respect for because of the polite and smart way he handles himself. Ultimatehero is a fellow screenwriter whom I have talked to numerous times about the business and the craft, and who has given me some great advice that I highly appreciate.

If you were to meet any Hypester in real life, who would it be and what would you do?
I'd probably meet the above three and talk about films. Though just once I'd like to watch Batman & Robin with Kane numbers :o

Where is home for you? Where would you like home to be?
Home is Cambridge. I like my home just fine, though I'd really like to have a nice big house. I've lived in apartments literally all of my life, so I've always been jealous of people who got to grow up in beautiful, warm houses. Also, when I'm old and grumpy, I'd like to retire to Maine or maybe a woodsy part of Canada.

I'm a guitarist in a band. We've recently put out an EP (which you can check out through the link in my sig if you're so inclided) and have started to gig around the area. My favorite band of all time is absolutely no questions asked Pink Floyd. My other (and bigger) passion is for film. Ever since I stayed home from school in 3rd grade and watched Forrest Gump three times in a row, I was hooked on film, and have been ever since.

Why a Banana?

Potassium :o

How serious is this damage of yours?
My lawyer has advised me not to answer this question.

Can you also cause brain damage to others? And if so, why would you do it, give me your favorite reasons? And if not, would you like to be able to?
Of course I can. Let me introduce you to my friend, Mr. Crowbar. And my favorite reason would be people who ask questions like these :cmad:
Just kidding. I can't think of a reason why I'd ever want to give someone brain damager, but if I did, I'd use Mr. Crowbar. Or I'd tape a giant cellphone to their forehead for a while.

What do you think of milk? They say it's not as healthy as we were made to believe.
I looooove milk. 2% is my drug of choice. I never believed to be all that healthy, other than for calcium and the like. It's quite easy to pack on the pounds with milk. 2% makes me feel like I'm being healthy when I drink a whole carton :o

What do you think of racism? Is it a serious issue that can you secretly enjoy jokes about?
I do think it's a serious issue. But at the same time, serious issues should also be treated lightheartedly sometimes, so I crack my fair share of racist jokes here and there.

Mr. Freeze has his freeze puns, what puns do you think Crazy Quit should say?

Who appointed the Batman? Why appointed?

What drove you to play the guitar?

Rank and rate all three Punisher movies

Star Trek Into Darkness or Man of Steel?

Mr. Freeze has his freeze puns, what puns do you think Crazy Quit should say?

Oh goodness. Ask me when I'm intoxicated and I'm sure I'll come up with some good ones. "My master plan will have you in stitches!"

Are you related to braincrusher?

No but I do also have electric heat.

Who appointed the Batman? Why appointed?

We did. All of who stood by and let scum take control of our city.

What drove you to play the guitar?

It was a number of things. I had wanted to for a while, but I didn't think id be very good, or that I'd stick with it. But I became close friends with two kids who played guitar and drums and I wanted to jam with them. Then, I saw this guy who was a few years older than me but went to my high school play and he blew my hair back. It made me think that if he could get that good, I could too. There was also Eric Clapton.

Rank and rate all three Punisher movies

The Punisher (2004) - 7.5/8. Love this one. A classic revenge flick that feels like a 70s action flick. I even love Travolta as the villain, which a lot of people don't seem to. Sometimes depending on my mood I can get more nitpicky with the film, but it's solid as hell overall. Wish it could have gotten a proper budget to shoot the planned gulf war sequence.

Punisher: War Zone - 5. Way way too over the top for my taste, and not very memorable story wise. Stevenson did a great job, though I prefer Jane. Also the look of the film is gorgeous.

The Punisher (1989) - 3. Only saw this once but reaaaally didn't care for it. Can't think of much I liked about it. That scene where he burts in through the skylight was kinda cool I guess.

You. I like you.

Your top 10 CB films?

Sometimes the order changes, but this should be kinda consistent.

1. The Dark Knight
2. Kick-Ass
3. Batman Begins
4. Spider-Man 2
5. X-Men: First Class
6. V for Vendetta
7. The Amazing Spider-Man
8. The Incredible Hulk
9. The Avengers
10. Batman Returns

Star Trek Into Darkness or Man of Steel?

Man of Steel. I didn't care for STID very much at all. Especially that 3rd act. Blech.

Sorry for taking so long to answer, but these questions were great
Thanks, guys.

Kick-Ass, the movie vs the comics. Which is more fun?

Definitely the movie. In fact, I think the movie is better in almost every regard. The comic is way too over the top for my tastes, and relies too much on shock to grab the reader. The movie on the otherhand streamlines the story, makes it much funnier, more engaging and far more enjoyable overall. I also really didn't care for the Big Daddy twist in the comic. The one thing I DID like in the comic was how Dave had to go through physical therapy after his first endeavor into crime fighting. That was a nice touch, but I'm glad it's not in the movie as it would have slowed things way down.

WHOOOO IS READYYYYYY?

I'm ready for Breaking Bad tomorrow :)

We have 15 minutes cause 3 are ............ (fill in the blanks)

Saved for the Sandman.

Why did the Joker dynamite the road?

To get to the other Robin, of course.

Which face do you prefer in Two-Face?

Neither. Two-Face with only one side of his personality would not be very interesting. The whole dynamic of the character comes from the eternal conflict he faces on a constant basis. While I have your attention, let me get on my soapbox for a minute and say that I think the TDK/Aaron Eckheart interpretation of the character deserves far more praise than it gets.

There were three men in a boat with four cigarettes and no matches. How did they manage to smoke?

One of them had a lighter.

Your top 20 Comic Book films? The 10 closest to the 10 you listed

Ooh boy. The order of these probably jumps around a lot.

11. X2: X-Men United
12. The Punisher (2004)
13. The Dark Knight Rises
14. Batman
15. Captain America: The First Aveneger
16. Daredevil (Director's Cut)
17. Thor
18. Iron Man 3
19. X-Men
20. Man of Steel

Btw, I'm only including superhero films here. Others like Road to Perdition, A History of Violence and Sin City deserve special mention. Oh and also only live action.

Name an actor or an actress you like their movies regardless of how bad the movie one of them stars in may be

I'm not sure if any actor can save a truly godawful piece of work, but I enjoy Robin Williams in pretty much every role.

I'm too lazy to write something and take a photo of it, but take my word for it, it's not that great.
What are your thoughts on the "Butterfly Effect"?
I dug that movie.
Tell us about a weird dream you had, and don't have a problem sharing
When I was little I used to get nightmares about getting kidnapped. Freaked me out.
What languages do you find interesting and have some desire to learn?[/QUOT]
I've always thought Italian was very cool.
3D theater: Yes or no?
Not for me. Though I've enjoyed some movies in IMAX 3D, like Avatar and Pacifc Rim
More into Star Wars or Star Trek?
Star Wars, no questions asked.
What if Episode VII has too many flashbacks?
Then it probably won't have a very interesting story.
Would you rather remake The Dark Knight Rises to improve it or Spider-Man 3? Who would you consider replacing (actor or character) in both movies?
I think Spider-Man 3 has a lot more problems than TDKR, but I'd have rather seen a better conclusion to Nolan's trilogy than a better conclusion to Raimi's. I don't think casting was the problem in either of those. Though I'd probably ditch Topher Grace and Bryce whatshername.
How do you define a loser?
Someone who doesn't even try.
Is sanity standard or is it in the eye of the beholder?
You're asking the wrong person ;D
What might give you a reason to bump your head into the wall?
I don't remember, but how do you think I got my username?
Any director you wish to direct a specific comic book movie? What character? And Why?
I'd love to see 70s Scorcese tackle Daredevil.
LEGO constructions or Jigsaw Puzzles? Which is more fun to do?
LEGOs for sure, the danger of stepping on a piece and crying for hours only adds to the thrill.
