have you ever posted commando?

The closest I've gotten to that is a tee and boxers...

what's an obstacle you've overcome or a significant event in your life that has impacted you greatly?

Besides the falling out with my dad, another great event (which will segue into the next question nicely) was meeting my 10th grade English Teacher. Up until that point, I always thought my creative calling resided in art...y'know drawing, sketching, painting etc. To an extent I still go back to all that...I make up these ambitious murals for relatives on their birthday (did a huge one of the four "Indiana Jones" films for my Movie-Worshipping Uncle). Up until then I had taken pride in oil and pastel work I'd done, some sculpting (I recreated the 'Christ the Redeemer' statue from Rio for a Spanish Art Festival once.

And I had also dabbled in music...Took Piano lessons from when I was 5 up until 13, got a ton of recognition for that...also played the Saxophone from 6th grade to 11th.

But 10th grade was when I was introduced to the idea that writing could be just as much of an expression as anything visual. The idea of sculpting or painting but with words on a blank page.

I've been hooked ever since.

I write screenplays, I've written novels...poetry, articles, film reviews and retrospectives.

One of my ambitions is to potentially write comics at some point. Who knows.

what was your favorite class in HS?

English...especially from 10th grade on. That's when my focus was turned to writing. From then on, essays were an absolute breeze. More than that...some of them were even a joy. As strange as that might sound.

least favorite class in HS?

Physics. Anything Analytical I suppose. I figured that as long as I understood the meaning and purpose of why the world works the way it does I didn't need to know how it works (unless if I wanted to...in which case I can research). When 'Matrix: Reloaded' came out and Councilor Hamann said the same thing to Neo I was like "There you go!"

What kind of toothpaste do you use?

Colgate...and actual paste to. Not a fan of the Gel.

How many times a day do you brush your teeth?

Twice. Morning before starting the day and before bed.

What kind of cell phone do you have?

Virgin Mobile...Basic Flip phone. I'm not all that concerned with the Blackberry/Iphone craze sweeping everyone. I just find it ridiculous. All I use a phone for is to...y'know...actually talk to people. All the texting bulls**t the bells and whistles. Insignificant to me. I know it's a big deal to other people and that's fine but sitting in class watching everyone drag on a conversation about apps is mind-numbing.

What's your default ringtone?

Some little VirginMobile jingle. I keep it on vibrate though.

Is Smallville a good Superman TV show?

When it focuses on Superman, absolutely.

But it's strange...I've followed with "Smallville" since the beginning and it's such a different show now compared to when it started. I suppose that comes with the territory though...things needing to evolve lest you have yet ANOTHER episode of Clark moping on the farm about the difficulties of super-powered adolescence.

I think now it's a solidly tolerable DC TV show...The hook for a lot of these later seasons has because less Clark's genesis and more based on bringing in more DC cameos.

Some of the writing I'm not a fan of...it can feel a bit forced, sometimes even downright laughable. The "tension" between Green Arrow and Hawkman in the 'Absolute Justice' film being the most recent example...which might've come more from the delivery of the actors since I'm a fan of Geoff's comic work. Or the original 'Justice' episode with all the heroes teaming up:

Green Arrow: Not bad for a can opener.
Cybrog: You'd look good on a bag of green beans.

*facepalm*

But I think when the show focuses more on character and less on spectacle, that allows for some pretty poignant television.

There's a wonderful moment in the "Vengeance" episode in the show's fifth season...

Clark has gone through the events of "Reckoning" and the death of Jonathan Kent without shedding a single tear. But when he walks in on Martha watching an old home video of Jonathan and young Clark on the tractor...and Jonathan waves with a smile and bids farewell...and Clark finally allows himself to breakdown to an extent.

As a comic fan, of course I'm jazzed about how the show has evolved...allowing us to get our very first live action Doomsday, Hawkman, Dr. Fate, Martian Manhunter...the homages it's made through the casting of Christopher Reeve, Margot Kidder, Helen Slater, Dean Cain, Marc McClure, Lynda Carter...and just the nostalgia of seeing John Barry's Krypton again...of seeing the Judgment Hall with the giant ominous faces of the Kryptonian Council presiding over Jor-El.

In the end I've always felt that the writing could be tightened up here and there...but I've quite enjoyed it. After all it's the only live action "Comic Book" show on right now (as far as using Superheroes...I'm aware of "Human Target" and its origins).

Now if Warners could just get another hero on the tube in his or her own show.

Have you ever used a typewriter to write up a school report?

Do you remember the library card catalogs?

At what grade level did you first have a computer in the classroom?

At what age did you first have a cell phone?

Have you ever used a typewriter to write up a school report?

No, but I have used a typewriter before...we used to have one years ago when I was about 7 or 8.

Do you remember the library card catalogs?

Yep...I used those in elementary school when I had to research for book reports.

At what grade level did you first have a computer in the classroom?

5th grade.

At what age did you first have a cell phone?

About 16 actually...I didn't get one until the world was pretty much in the thick of this recent cell craze. I know they've been around for quite awhile, but there's definitely been a recent surge.

No one has asked you any comic book questions.

Marvel, DC or Other?

DC, through and through. But of course I'm also a fan of Marvel and other properties from Top Cow, Dark Horse, Image, etc...but DC is my primary.

Favourite comicbook heroes from Marvel, DC and Other?

DC:

1: Batman
2: Wonder Woman
3: Flash
4: Green Lantern
5: Superman

MARVEL:

1: Spider-Man
2: Punisher
3: Daredevil
4: Captain America
5: Wolverine

MISC:

1: Rorschach (technically DC but since he doesn't populate the same universe...)
2: Hellboy
3: The Crow

Do you read any comics not about heroes?

I love reading the old 'Tomb of Dracula' books that featured Blade. I've never really thought of the character as a 'Super Hero' so it fits...Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster's "Slam Bradley" books are also cool.

Whats the one superhero flick you hated most?

"Superman IV: The Quest for Peace." -- ugh...UGH!!!

Any superhero flick you cringe at the idea of having to watch?

Of late:

"Ghost Rider" and "Fantastic Four"

Also, since I work at an Electronics Store, we've got this room in the back with a huge 65" Sony LCD with Surround and Blu-Ray. You have two films to choose from.

"Spider-Man III" or "The Dark Knight."

I watch "TDK" on my breaks...it's awesome!

Whats one movie you love that most people don't care for?

Oingo Boingo's cult film "Forbidden Zone." I tell people at school about that flick and they don't even know what I'm talking about. I think it's a hoot!
