Comic Chick Part I Asks:

Hype Life
When did you join the Hype?
I joined SHH in 2004.

What’s your favorite forum?
I started off in the Misc Movies and found my way to Community which I pretty much made my home for the past 5 years.

What brought you here?
I've told this story before but I was on the DC Messageboards and a poster and his love for Halle Berry's Catwoman, led me to follow him to SHH so I could ridicule him there.

What made you stay?
I liked the characters and I liked the Wild West style/sink or swim. Also, ridiculing people still gives me pleasure. :o

Who is your Hype Nemesis?
Wouldn't a nemesis constitute them being my equal? :o :awesome:

My nemesis would have to be changing SHH policy over the past few years. While I understand, things change/evolve, I do miss the less child friendly SHH that was around for the first few years.

Fave smiley(s):
 Because I think it just emphasizes my point most of the time. Also  because I only use it when I really mean it, but :o, I use all the time but it's not necessarily my favorite.

What is your current avatar? (post a pic of it if you want)
I usually use Yoda, Optimus Prime or something revolving Star Wars or Transformers G1.

What is your Hype Pet Peeve?
Hypocrisy.

Link us to a thread you really enjoy:
The Relationship Thread.

I think if I can just help one person, I'd be happy.

Comic Chick Asks Part II

Real Life:
How old are you?
Let's just say older than a lot of you. :o

Where were you born?
I was born in the greatest city in the world. New York City. I lived there for a good part of my childhood before we moved to New Jersey where I've been ever since.

What’s your job?
I am a Civil Engineer. What is a Civil Engineer? It has multiple fields like all professions. I specifically work with municipal engineering, which essentially handles drainage, roads, sidewalks, sometimes design, rehabilitations, etc. I also work a lot with land development where I take a parcel of land and develop it in accordance to an Applicant's wishes.

What kind of vehicle do you drive?
I drive an Infiniti G35.

Dream car?
Probably an Aston Martin.

What is your greatest regret?
Regrets, I've had a few. :o Actually, I don't really regret per se. I love for the most part where I am with my life and I have to say it's not only through my successes but my failures as well. So it's hard to regret, regret when it's brought me to where I kinda wanted to be.

What is your greatest achievement?
Probably my relationship with Erzette. Followed by my profession.

High school mascot?
Ugh, it was a Baron. A guy in a tuxedo and top hat. :down

How do you like your steak?
You know for most of my childhood my family always made steak well done, which was like chewing on cardboard. This is probably why I didn't like steak for most of my life. It wasn't until I realized I could get steak cooked medium or medium rare that I finally appreciated steak. In most good steak places, I ask for medium. But if I'm at some chain, I usually have to order medium rare because it'll come out medium anyways.

What’s a bad habit of yours? Feel free to mention more if you’d like:
I'm very petty. Very petty. Like, I still begrudge things that happen years ago. Doesn't help in real life or on SHH. :o

Favorite Place to Eat?
Ask me a few years ago and I would have told you of a Tex Mex place called Jose Tejas. Now it's any place that serves good sushi. I think Sushi is my favorite thing to eat. :)

How many tattoos do you have?
I'm pretty conservative person, and in the end I don't think tattoos would look right on me. But, if I had to get it, I'd get something like: Love, Honor and Loyalty written somewhere on my left shoulder.

What's your favorite sitcom and why?

What do you think about the current Miss New York? If you are not familiar with her then what do you think about Miss USA pageant in general?

What was your favorite movie of 09 and why?

Did you ever know someone with the name Tiberius? If so what was he like, if not what was the strangest name of someone you encountered and how would you describe them?

When was the last time you fell on your butt and who saw you?

What is your current favorite article of clothing and why?

Misc
If you could live in any fictional universe, what would it be, and why?
You know I was going to initially write the Star Wars Universe. Then I though if I was there, I'd want to be a Jedi, preferably, pre Clone Wars or post end of the Galactic Empire. However, I'd want to be able to bone if I wanted to. Maybe I'd be a rogue Jedi. :o

If you could be present for any historical event, what? Why?
Birth of Christ, perhaps?

But there are so many things I'd like to be privy to as history has seemed to swallow up information and we don't know exactly what happened.

How did Meriwether Lewis die?
Who really killed MLK?
What happened to the city of Angkor.
Who killed Johnny Ringo?
What happened to Notre Chico in Peru

When I read about things like this, I'm always curious what it be like to go back in time and find answers.

Name three people, living or dead, you would want to have dinner with?
Probably Frank Sinatra, Albert Einstein and Elizabeth the 1st. Just because of their knowledge and experience.

What was the last film you saw at the cinema?
The last movie I saw in the theater was Sherlock Holmes. Really good movie, I liken it to the revamp of Star Trek earlier last year. I always liked Guy Ritche's movies such as Lock Stock and 2 Smoking Barrels and Snatch, so I liked his take as well as the ensemble cast really brought everything together.

What is your favorite TV show?
I want to say the Simpsons as I probably have seen more episodes of that than any other. But Scrubs is up there as well as my current favorite, the Big Bang Theory.

What is your best childhood memory?
I grew up on a military base but also on an island, so being able to explore the island with my friends on our bikes was always kinda of Goonie'ish. But I always look back fondly on that.

An embarrassing moment?
Probably nothing major, not since teenage years and dating. Probably being obvious to everyone whenever I liked someone and then realize that they already knew.

Which store would you choose to max out your credit card?
Probably Amazon. I could get so much for less. It's where I look first for blu-rays, electronics, etc. :o

What is the last cd/mp3 you acquired?
I downloaded the MP3, You're Pretty Good Looking (For a Girl) yesterday.

Show us a sample of your handwriting?
I'm not near a scanenr, so I'd have to get back and edit this post.

Marx asks

If you had the power to erase one thread from Hype existence...what would it be?
If you asked me years ago, I would have easily said the Lounges. :o But now I've grown to appreciate them.

Before that, it was all those what's your favorite movie threads or the "versus" threads, for example Batman vs. Green Lantern, etc.

Now I'd probably have to say most of those celebrity threads, some have really crossed into the line of creepy. :o

venomvsspidey asks:

favorite spider-man movie?
Easily Spider-Man 2. While I really enjoyed Spider-Man, I think the fact that I knew everything was going to happen, it took a little bit of the enjoyment from me. Although it was fantastic to see a visible representation of Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2 really gave the series it's heart. I likened it to Empire Strikes Back by giving depth to it's characters.

favorite batman?
You know I was going to automatically say Begins, although I know most Batfans would be aghast. I haven't seen TDK since it's release 2 years ago but I have to watch it again to really take it all in.

But my favorite Batman film to date is probably Mask of the Phantasm. It was the pinnacle Batman film even after all the Burton and the Shumacher films.

Iron man or TIH?
Easily Iron Man, not to say that I don't like TIH. I honestly enjoy them both. But Robert Downey Jr., really captured Stark and while I usually can go either way with origin movies, this really was my favorite movie and first blu-ray from 2008.

home alone, or uncle buck?
In hindsight, I have to say Uncle Buck just because the latter was focused on John Candy.

do you like film scores?
if so, which ones?
Yes actually I do. I have mostly John Williams scores on the iPod. But my favorite piece is called "Clash of the Lightsabers" from the Empire Strikes Back soundtrack.

dave chappelle or tyrone biggums?
I liked the Chappelle show as much as most white people. I was never too big on the Tyrone Biggums character. Like everyone, Rick James or even Prince was funnier.

star wars or star trek?
Star Wars. For the one reason, they were more fun when I was younger. Everyone wanted to be a Jedi, or fly the Millennium Falcon. No one wanted to do diplomacy between planets or try and fix a warp drive.

do you like the prequels?
I don't give the harsh criticism that most people do. There are a lot of things in the prequels that I liked. Could they have been better? Yes. But, I'm not going to flood the internet with b'tching about it over 10 years later.

Favorite type of music?
I'm very eclectic with music. On my iPod, you'd find Social Distortion and the Clash. But, you'd also find Green Day, Puccini, Run DMC, Dashboard Confessional.

what type of music do you hate?
I don't "hate" any music. I really don't care for really heavy death metal or really urban music.

Do you read harry potter?
if so, which is your favorite book?
No, but I plan on reading the books after the movie.

if so, which is your favorite harry potter movie?
So far my favorite movie is Prisoner of Azkaban.

Play/played any organized sports? If so, which one(s)?

Biggest fear if any?

what is your fav sport and sports teams if any?

do you play video games?

what is your alcoholic drink of choice, if you drink?

what would it take to get you to play survivor again?

biggest survivor move regret?

if you were to assemble a hall of fame survivor, which 10 players must absolutely play? feel free to say why

:)

So I'll start with some easy ones:

When and why did you become so Star Wars fixated?

Did the prequels/Clones Wars effect this obsession?

Would you rather be crushed to death, facing the giant slab about to squish you, or buzz-sawed from toe to crown?

Which criminal genius would win in a battle of wits: Professor Moriarty, Lex Luthor or the Riddler?

Do you read any sci fi? If so, have you ever read anything by:

Vonnegut? (i.e. Cat's Cradle, Breakfast of Champions, Slaughterhouse 5)

Heinlein? (i.e. Stranger In a Strange Land, Starship Troopers, Moon is a Harsh Mistress)

Bradbury? (i.e. don't act like you don't know who I'm talking about)

If so, discuss the works listed above (for Bradbury, insert whatever), and whether you like/dislike them and why.

Also, Commander Shepherd or Master Chief?

LAst thing (for now): In one "most dangerous game" type setup with a multimillion dollar reward, would you rather be chased for three days by: Alien(s), a Predator, a bloodthirsty Optimus Prime, or a T-800?

Hottest Reporter/Anchor on TV?

Coke or Pepsi?

5 things you want to do before you kick the bucket?

Growing up, did you ever build any Star Wars spaceship models?

Or did you just play with the toys your parents bought for you?

Lex asks:

What are your top ten favorite books, excluding comics, and why?

I was never an avid reader when I was younger and I wish I had more time or more drive to read now but while I may not have many favorite books, yet me tell you which ones I enjoyed reading over the years.

Star Wars: The Timothy Zahn Trilogy
(Heir to the Empire, Dark Force Rising and the Last Command)
This brought me back into reading when I was younger. And even though, now there is a plethora of Star Wars books, back then there really wasn't. It was also during a time of a lull in Star Wars and this also brought me back into my childhood favorite past time. And if you ask a lot of people who read these books, they are not just some attempt to cash in on Star Wars. This was an intriguing story of events happening after Return of the Jedi, introducing new characters and expanding on the old ones.

Women by Charles Bukowski
If you aren't familiar with Charles Bukowski, you really should go out and pick up a few of his books. While his books are to be honest a little chauvinistic, the humor he brings along to each one of his relationships in the book which he seems to be more than just distractions are very entertaining. I think I also read that this book is kinda the basis of Californication as well.

The Art of War by Sun Tzu
I love that this book and each chapter goes into detail about an aspect of warfare. Even though this was written in the 6th century, his philosophy can be applied to today's modern wars as well as other "battles" as in business.

The Stand by Stephen King
This is my favorite Stephen King novel and one of his longest if I recall. Way before the TV movie came out, I read this in a week because I was so captivated I couldn't put it down. The characters were so fleshed out and this was before most of the apocalyptic/virus stories started coming in out in print and other media. But this book goes past that, and goes into the aftermath and compelling story of good vs. evil.

And while I try and rack my brain for more of my favorites, I will end this here and if I think of anymore I'll add it on later. Now it's off to work.

Gilpesh asks:

Do you think it will ever actually work?
I think 9 times out of 10, people are going to do what they feel comfortable with. However, it doesn't change the fact that I'm right. :o

SapphirePrima asks:

What's your favorite sitcom and why?
I answered this in ComicChick's questions.

What do you think about the current Miss New York? If you are not familiar with her then what do you think about Miss USA pageant in general?
Davina Reeves? I'm only seeing her publicity or her caked over with makeup. I'd like to see her more natural as I usually prefer women who are softer and don't look so hard.

Well I always thought of Miss USA as the wannabe sister of Miss America. If I'm not mistaken, Miss USA was created because of an incident that Miss America didn't want to take publicity shots in a bathing suit?

Not that I'm not one for beauty pageants except those kid ones, those are creepy, I just never really pay attention to any of them unless there is a youtube video afterwards.

What was your favorite movie of 09 and why?
I think it is between Up and Star Trek. I haven't seen Avatar yet. Star Trek for actually making a more entertaining Star Trek movie and Up because really Pixar never makes a bad movie and Up was indeed very touching and endearing.

What is one of most guiltiest pleasure?
Doing nothing. While I enjoy vacations and for those who know me, know I've been to quite a few places over the last couple of years, there is something about sitting on your ass doing nothing.

Did you ever know someone with the name Tiberius? If so what was he like, if not what was the strangest name of someone you encountered and how would you describe them?
I've never known anyone named Tiberius. The strangest name I've ever encountered personally, was meeting a woman named "Kevin" and no she wasn't a woman becoming a man, that was her name.

When was the last time you fell on your butt and who saw you?
Actually probably shoveling snow and slipping on some ice. But nobody saw me.

What is your current favorite article of clothing and why?
I'm a sucker for sharp looking ties, but more high end like Zenga, Burberry, etc. I have quite a few ties and always don't mind finding an excuse to wear one.

ProjectPat2280 asks:

Play/played any organized sports? If so, which one(s)?

I use to run track in school and while I do go to the gym, that's the extent of my physical activity.

CrashNburn asks:

Biggest fear if any?
I think the biggest fear is being alone. Not that I'm the type of person who would be with someone just to be with someone and would enter a relationship just to not be alone, but growing older is much more fun with someone.

what is your fav sport and sports teams if any?
Baseball and Football.

Being originally from NY, I started becoming a fan of the NY Giants after they won their first Superbowl in 1986. Phil Simms and Lawrence Taylor. I became a NY Yankees fan around 1988, so I'm not a fan from the the late 90s during their run. I was a huge Don Mattingly fan. Felt bad that they won the World Series like a year after he retired.

do you play video games?
I have a Xbox 360, PSP and DSi.

I can usually be seen play the 360. Right now I'm playing Dragon Age Origins.

what is your alcoholic drink of choice, if you drink?
Mixed drink would probably be a 7 and 7. Beer of choice is Guinness.

ComicChick asks:

what would it take to get you to play survivor again?
Even with Tukiluka hosting recently and even if Kipobe saying he would host again, the thing that would most get me to play Survivor again would be a drive to. I haven't had that in a while. Even my last playing as a participant, I think I milked the last of the drive out of me. And saying I started and ended Survivor in the Finals is kinda nice to say.

biggest survivor move regret?
Think there was a Survivor where I was set on overtaking and heading further into the Final 9 but since I felt bad for eliminating Brodie, I sided with him and eliminated if I remember, Spoons. That gave Brodie's alliance an advantage. A few challenges and one of the things I HATE about the game is bringing back voted out players. People I voted out took me out and had the Brodie alliance with them. Should have went and played for me instead.

if you were to assemble a hall of fame survivor, which 10 players must absolutely play? feel free to say why

Tukiluka
Jess
Kipobe
Holly
Daisy
Erzengel
TheManofBat
Kypade
Draven
ComicChick

I don't think I have to really explain why these 10. Out of the 28 something Survivors over SHH and LSP, these people encompass more than half the victories. Not to mention multiple jury and Final appearances. Plus except for TMOB, I've played with all of them and I know how good and dangerous they could be. :o

RabbitSamurai asks:

So I'll start with some easy ones:

When and why did you become so Star Wars fixated?
When I was a kid and because of one of the greatest economic moves done is with Lucas getting his hands on the merchandising. The toys just made you a fan of the movies. The Millennium Falcon, the AT-AT, these were not just toys, these were status symbols when you went over friend's houses. I had the Falcon. :o

Did the prequels/Clones Wars effect this obsession?
I prefer the Original Trilogy to the prequels/Clone Wars. But that doesn't mean I don't appreciate some of the aspects of the latter. The 2 disc Clone Wars by Genndy Tartakovsky is a must buy for anyone and is actually really good. Probably one of my favorite cartoon series.

Would you rather be crushed to death, facing the giant slab about to squish you, or buzz-sawed from toe to crown?
I guess whichever would give me a more quick and least painful death.

Which criminal genius would win in a battle of wits: Professor Moriarty, Lex Luthor or the Riddler?
Probably the Riddlerbecause I think I'd be able to kick his ass in the end. :o

Do you read any sci fi? If so, have you ever read anything by:

Vonnegut? (i.e. Cat's Cradle, Breakfast of Champions, Slaughterhouse 5)
No, but I should read Slaughterhouse 5 as I have heard good things about it.

Heinlein? (i.e. Stranger In a Strange Land, Starship Troopers, Moon is a Harsh Mistress)
No.

Bradbury? (i.e. don't act like you don't know who I'm talking about)
No.

If so, discuss the works listed above (for Bradbury, insert whatever), and whether you like/dislike them and why.
I'm not a big Sci-Fi reader. The most I read is from Star Wars books. And like I previously stated, the Timothy Zahn books are my favorite. The Star Wars books I didn't seem to like were books like the Truce at Bakura which seemed to really kinda "depower" characters like Skywalker.

Also, Commander Shepherd or Master Chief?
I'm not a big Halo fan. Actually I'm not a fan at all of the 1st person shooter types, except for when you are able to switch from 1st to 3rd person like in Fallout 3 or Jedi Knight: Outkast games.

I do LOVE the Mass Effect series. I played the first one multiple times and have gotten every achievement. I have the second one on reserved and hope to be able to get the Collector's Edition.

LAst thing (for now): In one "most dangerous game" type setup with a multimillion dollar reward, would you rather be chased for three days by: Alien(s), a Predator, a bloodthirsty Optimus Prime, or a T-800?

Well, I have to think which of the ones I'd have the best opportunity of defeating. I'd need some sort of anti-tank, missile system to take down Prime. I need some sort of heavy weaponry to take out a T-800, or a hydraulic press. A predator would probably be handled by a good assault weapon. One alien, I think I could handle by shoving the front of my car down his face. When you start talking about half a dozen, to like 10, I'd have to be more creative. So in the end it'd would be depending what I was given to fight off one OR how many Aliens we were talking about.

Kane52630 asks:

Hottest Reporter/Anchor on TV?
Anytime someone posts this thread, there should be only be 2 posts in it.

The first question asking it followed by the next poster posting Melissa Theuriau.
