When did you join the Hype?
Apparently… …the 26th of May this year.
What’s your favorite forum?
Hmm… I like the Fight Club Forum, the HH Community, the Marvel RPGs forum, the Other RPGs forum and the sports… one overall..? I’ll go with Fight Club I guess, although I love to write…
What brought you here?
The fun.
What made you stay?
The frivolity.
Who is your Hype Nemesis?
Hell… none really, didn’t know I was supposed to be accumulating them. Considering I’ve received a warning and an infraction for flaming Chaseter in the politics thread I guess its probably him by default, or majicwalrus in the fight club forum. I harbour no ill will towards either though, really.
Fave smiley(s):
What is your current avvy? (post a pic of it if you want)
What is your Hype Pet Peeve?
Probably the speed… that and I work a little more “Blue” in other forums, so from time to time I catch myself thinking “Which forum am I saying this in? Can I get away with this?” although ironically the only time the answer to that has been no is in a forum when I wasn’t really thinking about that at all… Two seconds thought prevents warnings/infractions/bannings/stoning by peers.

Real Life:
How old are you?
26.
Where were you born?
Adelaide Women’s and Childrens Hospital
What’s your job?
Clerk in the information Services Branch of the South Australian Police Department… Unofficial title: Records Monkey
What kind of vehicle do you drive?
I don’t. Saves on registration and petrol.
Dream car?
I’ve gotta go with the Batmobile…
What is your greatest regret?
Getting glandular fever from my ex which shot my fitness to s###. I used to be a pretty good basketball player before that…
What is your greatest achievement?
My daughter. Easily.
High school mascot?
I’m Australian… It doesn’t work like that.
How do you like your steak?
Medium, although I’ll say medium well in places I haven’t tried before.
What’s a bad habit of yours? Feel free to mention more if you’d like:

I chew my nails
I scratch myself
I tune out halfway through conversations when something on TV catches my attention
I’ve been known to drink too much, but I’m still a fairly nice drunk – I might just quietly go to sleep, occasionally have thrown up
I’m opinionated (to some that’s a bad habit)
I can be overly blunt socially, which can be awkward for people
I swear… routinely… without realizing it. Although I’ve generally been good around my daughter but I have caught myself in the middle of a tirade.
I’ll talk/make jokes during tv and some movies if I just can’t help myself (seldom)
I’ll talk/make jokes at time when I shouldn’t talk/make jokes.
I have been known to snore but it doesn’t seem to be an issue anymore.
Favorite Place to Eat? Everywhere. Always. Anything.
How many tattoos do you have?
None

What happened to Hound#'s 1-54?
They existed in parallel dimensions. Same as Hounds 56-354.

I tracked most of them down and killed them, in an attempt to become the one Uber-Hound.

At the moment I think only 98, 274 and 317 are left.

I'm a massive procrastinator...

Is Hound54 your father?
No. He merely exists in a parallel dimension. I hacked off 54's foot however and use it as a door-stopper.

It's not the easiest thing to explain to guests though...

How's the weather?
Pretty good. Clear skies with a chance of "awesome".

Adelaide's good for that, we don't get a whole lot of rain.

*Meanwhile farmers all along the River Murray pine that their crops are dying from no water*

Do you like breakfast?
When I get a chance for it, yes.

I like my breakfast AND someone else's. Which is pretty much my view on any meal, really.

What does your name refer to?
Why did you choose the name Hound55?
I used to play basketball (and was pretty decent). Wore 55 and Hound was a nickname I picked up from style of play and my attitudes towards officials...

Do you work or are you a student?
Work, although my boss would probably claim otherwise.

Is what you do satisfactory to you?
Very satisfactory to me. Its important work and needs doing and society would see an immediate impact if someone weren't to do it. My biggest issues are how I'm treated and the other people I work with rather than the work itself. But none are so poor that I would consider leaving.

Do you seek money or seek what money buys?
What money buys. Money itself has very little inherant value to me and I'm not really the kind of guy who's out there for status or power.

Where in Australia so you live?
City of Adelaide, has about 1 million people. To try and make a comparison in terms of size and such... Austin, TX is one of our sister-cities.

Have you ever eaten kangaroo meat?
Yes. When cooked right it is great.

If trying Kangaroo, I'd suggest trying it more than once if you didn't like it in case it was merely cooked poorly.

Do you feel a connection or a sense of pride when it comes to actors such as Heath Ledger, Nicole Kidman, and Hugh Jackman making it big in hollywood?
In some part of me, yes. But I have to be more honest and say I'm more disgusted that our own film industry is so piss-poor because more money gets blown into television.

Any fans of Fargo I'd suggest you pick up an Australian movie called The Square. Which to me was probably the best showcase of Australian film from last year that wasn't Australia and went a little under the radar.

Also suggest any Eric Bana fans go check out Chopper as well... I still view Bana as more of an impersonator rather than an actor per se.

To me the biggest sense of pride regarding these actors and others is that they were good enough to break out DESPITE how little gets put into film down here. Its remarkable how many great actors we have out there in terms of our population when the industry isn't in that good a shape down here.

can I get 5$?
I'm not sure... probably not from me.

which is worse :
soulja boy or 50 cent?
soulja boy

I don't even think its possible to give soulja boy any form of critical acclaim whatsoever, I don't like 50 cent but am willing to accept that some of the garbage he's thrown out there could perhaps be construed as "good" or at least "decent".
home alone 4 or jaws 4?
They made a Home Alone 4..?

Ouch.

Can't comment, haven't seen Home Alone 4.

Last book read?
In all honesty it'd be Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk, only just read that a couple of weeks ago when someone lent it to me. Flew through it in about two days.

Currently reading Molvania by Rob Sitch, Tom Gleisner and Santo Cilauro (yes, fellow Aussies.. the Working Dog crew of Late show fame) its a tour guide book for the fictitious Eastern European country of Molvania. Its funny stuff but it would get a little repetitive for folks who are familiar with their sort of humour. It's very Santo Cilauro, to the point I could see him reading half of the stuff aloud.

Favorite cookie type?
Do you guys have Tim Tams in the US..?

Not real sure what you'd call them, they're chocolate coated.

How does it feel to have your 15 minutes after only being here 5 months?

I'm not sure... probably not from me.

:awesome::awesome:

and home alone 4 was a made for TV movie...that has the 1.7 rating on IMDB that it so rightfully deserves.

I've wanted to visit Australia my whole life. Can I crash on your couch?
If I answered "Yes" to that, I'd find myself sleeping out on the lawn by the "Higher Power" within our house...

Do you and Gen really hate me?
Addressed that in my first post in this thread, its not hatred to be of the belief that you use irrational thought processes in the Fight Club thread.

You're a fan boy, yeah, but that's no reason to hate.

Its merely something I can use to make jokes about...

who was your favorite basketball player growing up?
This is going to surprise some folks, but I've always been a Suns fan growing up, since way back in the day with Larry Nance and then the deal which brought in KJ.

Favourite player was Dan Majerle.

Thank you for answering my questions. here are a few more.

Do you ever feel disconnected with what is said give the different culture you live in?

Do you travel much?

Where do you like to go or wish to go?

Have you ever gone on a trek in the outback?

The chance to know everything in existance in the vastness of the universe, or the chance to own the world and everything in it?

Loss of eye sight, or eternal loneliness?

Do you speak from the Head or the Heart?

Of the 7 deadly sins, which one would most likely send you to hell?

What would you prefer, Lover or a Dreamer?

PS. Nice to see another A-Bomb resident

Tis cool.
Do you ever feel disconnected with what is said give the different culture you live in?
Not really, funnily enough. Have been on a few various basketball forums over the years and Australia has pretty much become "America Lite" anyway, so the differences shrink with every year as technology and media continues to bridge the gap.

Do you travel much?
Sydney to the GFs family, other than that not a great deal. I'm actually pretty comfortable where I am and don't feel any real great desire to go see the sites of anywhere.

Mainly because I feel like I have a vague idea of what places will be like before I go there anyway (because I read up on places/see a bit about places before I go there anyway) and I'm familiar with, and like, Adelaide a great deal.

Where do you like to go or wish to go?
Wouldn't mind seeing Perth say, because it is similar to Adelaide in size and attitude, has great beaches, etc.

I find Sydney to be too big for me, I don't like people enough to live there... its sprawling and it either costs a fortune (from my own perspective) to live in amongst the action or it takes you forever to get into the city itself.

That said, I would like to go to New York because its BEYOND big, to the point where it makes it work again.

Have talked about wanting to go on a sports tour throughout the US before as well... bounce around see the Wildcats and Suns in Arizona (which I think would be nice... probably familiar weather), visit Springfield and go see a Redwings game in Detroit, Whitesox in Chicago (good luck finding a time of year I could simultaneously make all of these things happen... and more good luck finding a non-sell out at the Joe), Bucks and Packers in Wisconsin (you know I've got to stop by and see what Bogut's doing :oldrazz:), and go to New York and watch 4 different sports full of NY fans tear strips out of their current underacheiving teams :hehe:.

Should probably stop by Boston to check the Celtics and Bruins as well... and to assasinate watch Tom Brady suck

Have you ever gone on a trek in the outback?
A few times.

A couple of trips to the Flinders Ranges (because afterall, South Australia is *reads off number plate* The Defence State The festival state The gateway to the Flinders Ranges) and I've also trekked around the Grampians.

In school I participated yearly in a 24 hour canoe marathon (as a kayaker) which was frustrating because I was better than most of the others in my teams, carried more in my kayak (I got given the dodgy slalam kayak as well, which was harder for this purpose) could actually read a map (better than the geography teacher who was supposed to be looking after us and got us lost 4 times despite my pleading that we were somewhere else - its a frickin' river! How can a geography teacher get lost on a river?!?) and was faster and had more endurance than the other guys as well. If they had a solo option I'd have snapped that right up, that or go with some of the old scholars who were guns.
