When did you join the Hype?

Around March of last year. Did some poking around for months before I joined.

What’s your favorite forum?

My favorite forum at the moment is The Captain America forums. There are many vocal fans who want see Captain America casted already and it was a fun thread when John Krasinski was rumored for the role.

What brought you here?

I wanted to know more about the upcoming Green Lantern film back in 2008 and I saw a friend go onto the site before. I went onto the forums and the rest was history...

What made you stay?

Believe it or not, I stayed for the intelligent and funny conversations people have on the forums. Plus the people are colorful and honest.

I would live in the Star Wars Universe and become a badass Jedi.

I'm big on history, so I would want to see Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speech. I have seen the speech on video countless times, but it would be nice to feel of the environment and the emotions of the March on Washington.

An embarrassing moment?

Here's one of them. I was watching Knocked up on my laptop on a train last year and I plugged in my headphones. The volume was at the max. But little did I know I plugged the headphones into the headphone jack that doesn't mute the speakers. So I had a bunch of people looking at me when Seth Rogen and Katherine Heigl was having sex.

Either the one in which the poster was convinced Wolverine would be in the Avengers, or the one in which a poster wanted Wolverine in First Avenger: Captain America film. Its not gonna happen guys.


How do you feel about daylight savings time?

Depends on the season. During the Fall I would welcome because of the extra hour. Right now I hate it. Its 1:58 going on 3:00.

What are your thoughts on remakes and prequels?

I'm not too into remakes because the production value and the meaning among many aspects of the the original films are often lost in translation. Prequels on the other hand are often better because it tells a different story in which at times can be interesting.

What are your thoughts on the '3D' wave that's hitting Hollywood?

I honestly don't mind 3D movies because I have a choice to watch 2D. To date I have only seen one 3D movie and its Avatar. Even though that was a great experience, I don't plan to watch every film in 3D. However, I won't complain if filmmakers make film in 3D because I don't have to see it in 3D.

Btw the next 3D film I'm seeing is Alice in Wonderland for a school trip. I hope its not as bad as I think it will be. I hated Alice in Wonderland.

Do you think '3D' could become standard in filmmaking?

Its possible, but I really doubt it. Sure there will be actions films in 3D, but other films definitely will not be in 3D because it would be a waste of money. Plus many other actions films will not have the budget to add 3D.

I enjoyed Tim Burton's 'Alice In Wonderland'. It's not perfect, but it is a good movie.

I like Tim Burton, but I haven't been big on his effort on remakes this decade. I hated Planet of the Apes, and disliked Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (though the latter was mostly because of Depp), but I did loves his other stuff.

My favorite Tim Burton movie is the first Tim Burton film I saw, Edward Scissorhands.

Indeed I saw both of them and thats why I didn't say that he was bad at adaptations. I hate to bite my tongue when answering that last one and say that his remakes were bad. He has terrible luck with remakes.

Sweeney Todd and Big Fish were both amazing films that I loved. Big Fish was important because I was thinking Burton, like a few other actors/actresses and directors going into the 2000s, was losing it a little after Planet of the Apes. I was glad to be proven wrong.

Btw, I bet you're probably surprised that a Batman fan didn't mention Batman or Batman Returns as his favorite Tim Burton film.

Okay here's my ranking:

1. Batman Begins

You did ask me best Batman films so I rank Batman Begins higher than the Dark Knight because I believe Batman is a better, more heroic character in Begins than TDK. But as overall films #1 and #2 would be switched.

2. The Dark Knight

Do I really need to describe it? What hasn't been said about this film yet?

3. Batman

Its the film that had gotten the general audience to take Batman seriously again.

4. Batman Forever

It may be a surprise, but I believe its better than Returns. Bruce Wayne's internal struggles and the addition of Robin were done very good. Its Schumacher (not the studio) that ruined many other aspects of the film including taking several important scenes out that would've possibly put this film at #1.

5. Batman Returns

I'm not big on Batman Returns, but I did love Catwoman in this film and some of the actions scenes.

6. Batman the Movie

I like campy Batman. Its another fun interpretation of the character so I don't mind this film.

7. Batman and Robin



But one Batman film trumps all the other Batman films.

I've seen it twice in theaters and infinite times on DVD.

Are you excited that Christopher Nolan has officially confirmed 'Batman 3'?

I've been excited since the end of TDK. There was never a doubt in my mind he wouldn't come back. Nolan is a storyteller, and I believed there was no way in hell he would ever leave a story incomplete.

Who would you like to see as the villain or villains?

I would love to see the Riddler and Catwoman in the third one. You have a great setup for both. Riddler somehow finds out Batman's identity and toys with Bruce Wayne. And with Catwoman, Rachael Dawes is dead, opening the door for a new love interest.

What actors would you like to play said villain or villains?

I can see Johnny Depp playing the Riddler, though I can also see Benjamin Ciaramello with the role.

As for Catwoman, a long time I suggest Angelina Jolie for the role. She'd be perfect for it. But I don't see that as a possibility, so I think Marion Cotillard or Rachel Weisz would be a great idea.

Have you ever been so disappointed with a movie at the theater that you walked out? If so, what was the movie?

I have never walked out of a film. I don't ever plan to see movies that terrible in theaters (not wasting the little money I get every week on a terrible film). However the closest I came to falling asleep in a movie theater was Fast and Furious. Never let your girlfriend chose the movie ever again.
