So it will be established that Hank Pym became Ant Man and was a spy in the 1970s. Do you expect he will cross paths or work for SHIELD back then? And what about a young field Agent Nick Fury? Will this bring that movie into being? A prequel with a young actor playing a young Nick Fury in the 70s? 
And what other characters do you think can be worked into the past? Seeing as how you have to keep in mind everyone's perception of the Avengers, there didn't seem to be superheroes in the open back then or in costumes or as powerful like the Hulk or Thor.
I could also see SHIELD Agent John Walker being the replacement Captain America during the 80s (no powers, just trained) and leading to him loosing an arm and a leg and an eye serving his country.
I can also see the Ultimate version of Nuke being used too, a soldier injected with the Super Soldier Serum given Blonski, who went mad during Vietnam.
