1987 The Spirit TV movie?

I am sory if this has already been posted somewhere, but I just found it

There was a Spirit movie made for TV during 1987, starring Flash Gordon's Sam J. Jones as The Spirit.

I guess its now like the original FF movie, hiding somewhere as a video or something. By which I mean, to see it you might have to search all over for it. But I could be wrong. I have no idea what it was like, if it was good, or if it even aired.

It aired on ABC as a TV movie. I recorded it then. I enjoyed it, it wasn't bad but it wasn't great either- but it was enjoyable. Hopefully, it will get a dvd release in conjunction with the new theatrical film.

Just from looking at the stills it looks about 100x more Spirit than Millers...

It was. But it still wasn't all that great. The actor who played the Spirit wasn't all that likeable. And it was very 80's from the music to some of the wardrobe. The dialouge wasn't much better than Miller's either. I remember someone saying that the stolen products were "as hot as a Madonna concert". Colt's origin was screwed up to about the same as Millers. Both films got some things right but much more wrong. But both are fun to watch.
