Per Kevin Feige:

22 movies in, and we’ve got another 20 movies on the docket that are completely different from anything that’s come before—intentionally.

If we rule out the obvious candidates...

Ant-Man 3
Avengers 4
Black Panther 2
Captain Marvel 2
Doctor Strange 2
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3
Spider-Man 2

That still leaves 13 movies. What are we thinking? Unless the negotiations between Disney and Fox are further along than we've been led to believe, and Disney is confident that it'll get done, I can't imagine that they've already incorporated Fantastic Four and/or X-Men into their future plans. Truth be told, I'm not too learned in deep Marvel lore, so the only films I can think of off the top of my head are:

Namor (unlikely, given Universal's involvement)
The Incredible Hulk 2 (unlikely, given Universal's involvement)
Thunderbolts

We need Hulk to have another film as Ragnarok leaves many questions open for the Hulks character and Banners.

Not sure that means 20 for Phase 4. That could be across Phase 4 and Phase 5.

Power Pack could be one ;) . Also, I think it's about time for a reboot of Howard the Duck.

Hopefuly another Thor film (a way Marvel can make more Hulk films without having to pay Universal). It would be neat if for Phases 4-5 (They might not even be called phases by then) Marvel Studios started to aim for a crossover betwen film and tv, but that's doubtful. And i frankly hope the Inhumans tv show gets retconed out of existence due to how bad it was.

New Franchises:

Thunderbolts
Strikeforce: Morituri
Nextwave
Rocket & Groot
Nova
The FF
The FF: Annihilation
The FF: Out of Time
Squadron Supreme
Weapon X (featuring the Hulk)

Oh and a Silver Surfer movie. Loooooong overdue.

 But I think I'd do like they did in the comics - introduce him with Galactus first, and then, after he's been established that way, they can do a film that focuses on him.

I think you can add Thor 4 and Captain America 4 to that list (I suspect Cap 4 will see a new person in the Cap suit - I'd lean towards Bucky).

Actually I think they are including Avengers 4 in the "21." But I'll do you one further RE: obvious candidates...

Ant-Man 3
Black Panther 2
Black Panther 3
Captain Marvel 2
Captain Marvel 3
Doctor Strange 2
Doctor Strange 3
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3
Spider-Man 2
Spider-Man 3 (minimum)

Which leaves us with 10 spaces. My guesses are as follows:
1. Widow - Just seems too obvious at this point.
2. Nova - Already set up (in GotG1).
3. Guardians 3000 - Already set up (in GotG2).

4. Thor 4 - I don't see Hemsworth quitting anytime soon. Still need to see enchantress.
5. Iron Man 4/Iron Heart - I'd be happy to see it happen.
6. Captain America 4 - even if Bucky or Falcon takes over
(these big three flicks seem like no brainers cost/benefit wise)

7. Liberators - A lady liberators movie seems more and more like a real possibility. Marvel has a beautiful slew of heroines. This would be a cash cow.

8. Ghost Rider/Blade and/or Midnight Sons - Another new team for the Avengers affect. Man-Thing and Ghost Rider spinoffs?

9. Thunderbolts - We've already got half a team of villains (Zemo!!!)

10. Rocket and Groot? - This is maybe a stretch, and my hail mary of a guess, but I guarantee it'd be worth it's weight in CGI.

NOTICE no namor, no hulk, no F4, no surfer, no X-Men and very limited Spider-Man. I'm not getting my hopes up for any of that and I'm still VERY excited about the MCU future.

I feel like the 2020 films are likely Black Widow, Guardians 3 and Doctor Strange 2.

Honestly, Iron Man, Thor and Hulk are likely going to be put on hold for a while. I feel like they'll be gone for a Phase and then show up again in Phase 5. We'll get new franchises with new characters with an emphasis on the cosmic universe. Nova, Ravagers, Fantastic Four and Silver Surfer. And split up the Guardians into two teams with one team as a new Guardians Roster and the other as Infinity Watch. If the Fantastic Four and X-Men are coming home, then Guardians can adapt Annihilation, Annihilation: Conquest and War of Kings. Set Infinity Watch up against threats like Count Abyss.

Thor might continue because Taika Waititi hinted at Thor 4 but we're going to be saying goodbye to Iron Man, War Machine and Hulk at the very least since they're aging out of the roles and immediately casting somebody new is going to leave a bad taste in people's mouths. The three of them are gone. Evans has also implied that he's leaving.

Mostly all sequels. Another cosmic team will probably happen; whether Infinity Watch or something else I suppose we'll find out.

Infinity Gauntlet Trilogy
Collects Infinity Gauntlet #1-6, Infinity War #1-6, Infinity Crusade #1-6, Warlock and the Infinity Watch (1992) #7-10 & #18-22, Warlock Chronicles (1993) #1-5, Marvel Comics Presents (1988) #108-111. All of Marvel's top heroes star in this epic of cosmic proportions, where they must stop the Infinity-fueled threats of Magus, the Goddess and the Mad Titan Thanos infused with near-omnipotent power!

In order of publication date, the above referenced issues are: Infinity Gauntlet (miniseries '91); Infinity War (miniseries '92); Infinity Crusade (miniseries '93); Infinity Watch (42 Issue ongoing series '92-95); Warlock Chronicles (8 issue ongoing companion series to Infinity Watch '93-'94).

I can see Marvel trying to keep the momentum going after Avengers 4 rather than just move onto next thing entirely. (Edit: Warlock character did appear in many comics from 1967 to early 80's before being revived by Jim Starlin for Infinity Gauntlet miniseries so who knows maybe Marvel will borrow from that concerning the Warlock character instead as isn't going to be in the movie but a cosmic team to guard the gauntlet gems seems likely nonetheless).

With GOTG 3 expected to be an expansion of the cosmic universe I would imagine Nova, Quasar and especially Adam Warlock movies are highly possible. I do think a GOTG 4 will happen with different team members.

And I am personally hoping for a Ronan resurrection and subsequent movie.

I'd sure love to see Nova, Nextwave and Black Widow movies. (Winter Soldier can guest star in the Black Widow movie, if he doesn't warrant his own movie, or doesn't take over for Captain America.)

I like "No Hulk, Namor, FF, X-Men, and limited Spider-man" rule. Let's not get excited just yet.

I would remove a couple of the Guardians stuff. Too much Guardians here.

Instead of Rocket and Groot, I would have inhumans. I'm still mad Feige let that go to TV and Scott Buck, even if he knew that other properties were coming. Make the tv show non cannon and give me a badass movie trilogy, Feige.

Instead of Guardians 3000, I would have Defenders/Daredevil/Punisher/et.al. Iger did mention at one point that the TV show characters could become feature films. I would like that.

Removing the obvious sequels and third films.

Widow I wouldn't be opposed to but that's one that I'd hope to be a one off.

Nova. One I most want to see among new characters.

Namor won't get his own film because his rights are the same as Hulk and tied up with Universal, but maybe the antagonist in BP2?

Possibly a 4th Thor

Power Pack, Blue Marvel, Ghost Rider...

There's quite a few possibilities!

One of these better be F4. Idec about rights anymore. Just say yolo and make it. :funny:

Quesada claimed that Marvel has all of Namor's rights back.

http://www.slashfilm.com/namor-rights-mavel/

Hypothetically, Namor is one of the new ones they could do.

Avatar 2 is supposed to go underwater and Cameron likes to push technology so if it does well I can see Marvel using whatever new tricks are created for Avatar 2 in a Namor film.

I remember Feige saying it would be more Team ups movie, which I very welcome.
Per example the Doctor Strange Movie can include Vision and Wanda.

I would see that :hearts:

"As far as he knows. Not at Fox or Sony" Feige has said it's more complicated then that and Namor was never at Fox or Sony, he is/was at Universal
OK but when did Feige say that?

Also, don't forget Howard the Duck :D

Oh man... Howard I forgot Howard.

What a strange world we will live in if Marvel makes Howard the Duck a critical and box office hit.
