2000 Election Reflection (for my bestest friend N8)

Yes or No?

  • No, Bush did not legitimately win the 2000 election

  • Yes, Bush legitimately won the 2000 election

Results are only viewable after voting.

That's my point. With the US electoral system, the only win that counts is the electoral vote, as it should be. This means that occasionally, it's possible to win against the popular vote.

It is still a legitimate win, hence, the question is bunkum.

Exactly, he won with the system, if you dont like the system thats fine, but he did win with the system in place.

Newsweek went and recounted all the ballots after Bush had been announced as the winner....

Bush still won.

Hey Eneight, you should stop writing in purple. :o

They counted the votes in Florida. It's the popular vote across the entire US that the Leftists are still complaining about.

Oh well, if this were a democracy they might have a legitimate complaint, but it is supposed to be a Republic.

I hate to admit it, but that would be a good point if Bush had really won Florida instead of just having the vote counting stopped there by his pals.

I'm no lefty, I'm more conservative than N8 and Jonty and wouldn't have wanted Gore in office... and yet it's pretty obvious that the only election Bush won was with the Supreme Court Justices.

Wow. Some honesty.

Several news organizations recounted the polls themselves and Bush really did win Florida.

I thought they were counted. As if the results were going to be different on the twenty-third recount?

Do you know what reactive means?

Reactive means to react without thinking, like many on the left do.

Wow a conservative who suddenly trusts "news orginizations".

Considering that those news organizations were pulling for Bush to lose and they admitted he won, why not?

That's the last thing they'd want.

It is a term literally associated with the policies of conservatives. And most would admit it.

Literally?

Can you show this in any of their policies, where they use the term explicitly?

They were never officially recounted. The Court sided with Bush and stopped the count. Many counts found Gore would have won even with all the "voting machine issuses" Little Jeb hooked up for his bro.

Name one reasonable source that shows Gore won Florida.

The Supreme Court actually didn't stop the count, they refused the appeal because those appealing had no basis for doing so.

Here's one showing that Bush won Florida.

Here's another

You do notice that I'm not using particularly Republican sources to state my case.

Yet you still see them say Bush wasnt elected.

Well they usually call them "reactionary" polices but it means the same thing. Try typing it in a search engine. I don't really feel like doing research tonight.

It's not a term that "literally" describes conservative policies, though.

Are you gonna use the old "try a search engine" sticht when you reply to jonty's request of showing a RESONABLE news agency showing that Gore won Floridia?:down
