The Sports Forum is angry that Community has this thread. :down

As Lord of the Sports Forum, I (Fran) declare this thread worthy of community. It spreads across sports, but it's mostly for entertainment purposes.

that'd be cool too... it would fit in the style on how they did the teaser

WB has some time during the Superbowl as well.

I won't bother with the pre-game show, but I just might tune into the Halftime show. Tom Petty rules

The Super Bowl show needs Queens of the Stone Age :cmad:

I know it would never happen but Dream Theater doing the Halftime show would be excellent

ehhh. Now if it's Genesis with Peter Gabriel showing up, that would blow so many minds

I can't believe they're having a red carpet.

Ryan Seacrest + football = :huh::dry::huh: and a half.

Oh its god awful out here. The tents for the NFL experience came in like two weeks ago, and there finally getting everything up. The superbowl bash show is like friggin MARRON 5 and PAtti Label or some shizzle, I dont even care. Then all the good party places for shows are like 40 miles away from the stadium, and our WESTGATE is like right down the street from me, and you wont even get to the ThEATRE for a night without a pass I bet.

I wish the NFL would go back to having the Superbowl the Sunday after the conference championships

HYPE BABY YEAH!!!

This playboy sure can throw a party
Tonight, Playboy's newly constructed Desert Oasis and Resort will welcome media and guests from across the globe to one of the most posh and polished parties the Valley has ever seen, and the production team had just 3 1/2 days to make the mirage come true.

These party pyrotechnics required ten 53-foot semitrucks that came from New York and even Las Vegas filled with sound equipment, furniture, and lighting. Event mastermind Tony Berger of Relevent brought in 33,000 square feet of carpet, 22,000 square feet of decking, and 80,000 linear feet of black velvet curtains that line the tent.

There's a giant martini glass that will hold a live Femlin (a Playboy icon), and a glass-walled VIP room where Hef can court celebs and regular guests can watch and gawk.

In back, behind the curtains, there's a green-room escape for Hef and places for the Bunnies to sit and rest their feet.

"The high-heel thing is just something you never ever get used to," says bunny Pilar Lastra, who will debut a brand-new deep-purple costume tonight. The bunnies are in heels from 9:30 p.m. until 3 a.m., and "the cuter the shoe, the more pain you're gonna be in," she says.

"But the high heel makes all the junk in the trunk look very properly stacked."

Levy Restaurants is sending eight chefs, 25 cooks and 600 sheet pans filled with retro-themed appetizers such as mini Beef Wellingtons and tiny versions of Chicken Cordon Bleu.

In a nod to Arizona, there will be 1,000 mini honey walnut tacos and 1,600 Route 66 mini burgers with smoked cheddar cheese and green chiles. These required 400 pounds of ground beef.

An entire busload of girls from the University of Arizona will arrive to up the femme fatale factor, which already includes 20 models wearing nothing but body paint. This is Playboy, after all.

"You're going to pull up and see this behemoth that will glow out in the night - and it truly will be glowing," says Berger. And once inside, "you're going to think 'I cannot believe I'm in a big tent in the middle of a cowboy western town and I've been transported to this other time.' "

Hefner himself is quite excited. He actually spent time in Arizona in the '60s, when there was a Playboy Club in Phoenix and he would come to town with girls on his arm.

"I'm looking forward to it," he says. "I have good memories of times in Phoenix in the past. Now, it's just a matter of showing up and having a good time."

This Super Bowl will have an unprecedented nine hours of game related coverage prior to kickoff on game day. Fox News will start the coverage on the Fox network by pairing their preview of the Super Tuesday presidential primaries with Fox Sports' Super Bowl coverage, airing Fox Super Sunday from 9 AM EST to 12 PM EST live from Glendale hosted by Chris Wallace in the first hour and Shepard Smith in the remaining two hours[20].

Official pre-game coverage will start at 2 PM US EST. The pre-game will be handled by the Fox NFL Sunday pregame show team led by Curt Menefee, joined by Terry Bradshaw, Howie Long, and Jimmy Johnson. In addition Frank Caliendo will appear in various comedic skits and Ryan Seacrest will provide coverage of celebrity arrivals to the game site. Prior to this, Fox will air NFL Films' Road to the Super Bowl documentary starting at noon.(Narrated by Alec Baldwin)
