The Pro Bowl is a disgrace. The NFL and Goodell have completely embarrassed themselves. Arena League features better defense than this turd... or used to feature rather... :hehe:

Rumor is a popular option would be putting in midseason, essentially give non pro bowlers 2 bye weeks, and letting the winner have home field in the super ala the world series, and obligating player to play in it if selected.

This makes the game actually meaningful to the players, and also good for the business side, as 2 cities would be able to get excited about a possible super bowl instead of one, kind of like the olympics city selection.

Vince Young made the Pro Bowl??? really?? they should rename this the "Kinda Sorta Pro Bowl"

I like "The game before the super bowl....bowl"

It would never happen. There is too much planning that goes into the Super Bowl and too much money would be lost by giving people two weeks notice of where the Super Bowl will be.

Maybe if every venue had a dome.

I wouldn't mind seeing a Super Bowl played in the snow of Buffalo or a rainy, muddy game in Pittsburgh.

That said, it won't happen so they should just get rid of the Pro Bowl. Or kick off the season with it. Either way.

Keyword is Midseason.

As after like, week 8. Theyd have 3 months to prepare.

Not based on the way you described it. You said it would be played for "homefield advantage." So either it remains pointless as you are playing for homefield advantage in Tampa or Arizona, or you won't know where its being played til after the championship game of the division that is won.

Still isn't enough.

Yep.

Like that game late in the season at Buffalo. Indy lost to Buffalo but Indy didn't play best players that long in game. That snow was insane from what I saw.

Who thinks Panthers will draft Tebow? I want Moore to start. Who wants Moore to start for Panthers and have slogan 'Moore for the Panthers' :o get it? More. Panthers. Moore Panthers?

The Panthers have far greater needs than Tebow. Julius Peppers is close to being a free agent. They also need a DT.

Hopefully NO Colts and Saints players were hurt during Pro Bowl

Really, whose genius' idea is it to do this before the Super Bowl?

And, on the SAME night as Grammys, plus it's only on Cable?

:)

They also have to think about WR. Steve Smith isn't getting any younger.

Peppers can go off somewhere. He was paid too much and was so-so for the team this year. He didn't wanna play on Carolina last year. Yeah, I'll miss seeing him as a Panther...but just ****ing go off dude.

Dwanye Jarret. Carolina's back up TE's Rosario and Barnidge have speed and hands as well.

I think Carolina should try and sign WR Kevin Walter from Houston if he is available this offseason...I think he is (or was?).

Off season no brainer trades/FA's:

1) Peppers to Jets. Tannenbaum has probably been the most aggressive GM I have ever seen in the NFL, more so than Jerry ever was, so he will not hesitate to make a deal.

2) Boldin to the Dolphins/Bears. Just eat the 2nd round pick and grab this guy. Henne had nothing to work with last year. Cutler was putrid. Unless they are waiting for a Marshall meltdown in Denver, I'd just acquire Boldin and be done with it.

3) McNabb to the Vikings. For a 1st and 3rd it's a no brainer. I'd even condsider two first rounders. You can't wait around for Rosenfels or Tavaris. Hell, I ain't even sure if both QB's are still on their roster. McNabb instantly puts them back in the title game barring injuries IMO.

Vikings should not make a trade for a QB due to Brett Favre's tendency to flip flop on retirement.

WR is another big need. I think they can hold off on WR untill the later rounds of the draft.

They should have traded him when they had the chance. Now they're losing one of their star players and they don't even have a first round pick.

Dwayne Jarret has been a HUGE bust. He's only there for depth at the moment.

Carolina needs a younger guy to come in.

Peppers would be extremly smart to go to the Jets. The Denver Broncos are the ones that should persue him.

I said Boldin to the Dolphins last year. They need someone badly at the moment. Henne could be an extremely better QB with someone to actually throw to.

The move makes so much sense for the Vikings. The question now is if the Eagles are willing to give up on McNabb and go with Kolb.

I can't see the Eagles throwing away the year unless it's two number ones in return, but if they don't get it done next year they basically lose Kolb and McNabb is a year and a half older with a possible lock out on the horizon. Or maybe work Kolb in there mid season but I can't see him getting to a SB, and McNabb would be gone the following year anyway.

McNabb IS the Eagles. Dude is a future HOF. Gets no respect. ANd I hope if the owners go full ****** and there's a lockout...that they go with replacement players. :awesome: like the movie 'The Replacements'.

They can when he retires.

Of course, he'll probably unretire weeks later and come back and play for Holmgren in Cleveland.

Derek Anderson and Brady Quinn will not be pleased.

WTF did Anderson implode after his Pro Bowl year?

If no CBA Agreement is reached which looks like the case then Kolb is under Eagles control for 2 more years.

I see McNabb sticking around and Kolb getting the team the following year. Kolb looks like the real deal so I don't see them losing much with him at QB.
