Well, looks like the Lakers are the champions once again.

Yup. Now begins the NEXT season thread for 2010-2011..

Will the Lakers be the champs again?

Where is LeBron going to be playing?

Do you know the muffin man?

Any other questions, comments or thoughts for next year's hoop action...bring it on!

I don't think the other Florida team wants him.

He was on a minimum contract with the Magic. I don't see why he'd get any more than that. Still, I wouldn't bother releasing anyone currently on the roster to make room for him.

Won't the compileing dead threads make it more laggy?

Yeah?

If I were the Heat I'd throw a minimum contract at him. Dude can pull up and stick the deep ball which allows them that steady hands option at the point to move both Wade and Lebron to the wings.

Chalmers is nice, but come play off time that veteran savvy couldn't hurt.

So I just saw the Black Mamba trailer directed by Robert Rodriguez. Really?

so who are we talking about in this thread?

All-Star starters announced.

East
Derrick Rose
Dwayne Wade
LeBron James
Amare Stoudemire
Dwight Howard

West
Kobe Bryant
Chris Paul
Yao Ming
Kevin Durant
Carmelo Anthony

East was pretty obvious, great picks. Derrick Rose is on fire, my MVP. West... Yao Ming? Seriously? And surprised Melo was chosen over Griffin, specifically.

Anyone really surprised that Yao was voted in as a starter doesn't understand the system.

dwight howard was leading vote getter with 2+ million votes

Yao, i dont agree with that, but it's the voters for ya

who would you like to see as reserves on either side?

west reserves:

Blake Griffin (kinda wanna see him in the rookie game more so he can put on a highlight show)
Kevin Love
Russell Westbrook
Pau Gasol
Deron Williams
Nowitzki
Aldridge

that's all i can think of

I feel like I could queue up the main theme from The Phantom Menace and make a collaboration called 'Duel of the Flops'.

I'm largely going off the fact that he's 35 with bad knees and couldn't beat out the likes of Chris Duhon for a spot in the rotation. J-Dub from a few years ago? Sign me up. As of now, I'd struggle to put him ahead of Chalmers or Arroyo (neither of which are even close to answers).

I'd rather keep Magloire on the roster just in case the league adds a takedown component to scoring.

Other than Bogut in the East I don't care a great deal...

Depends on team needs though as well...

I like Chris Duhon and his defence will generally see him beat out a Jason Williams on 95% of teams.

Where the Heat are now though I'd say he's a better answer to Arroyo for sure, because of that outside shooting he brings to the table. If anyone keeps him out on that Heat team it's Eddie House...

They've been freeing Eddie House for the shooting boost lately. Strangely (?) enough, Arroyo has mostly fallen out of the rotation over the last few games.

Wouldn't think that's too strange.

The Heat want all the shooters they can find. Eddie House goes down hurt though and I wouldn't be surprised if they went after Williams, but yeah... House is what'll keep him out of the squad.

Heat would mainly want those point guard options who can shoot from the top to give them an alternative to Lebron or Wade playing the point and using Jones or Miller on a wing (both are awesome shooters).

Blah Blah Blah Hound tells Mister J stuff that he doubtless already knows about his own team to prevent himself from thinking further abouth the SUns and spontaneously bursting into tears at the prospect of their "future"

Well..., it's got to get better. It wasn't all that long ago that myself and Captain Morgan saw our relationship vastly strengthened by the on-court doings of Blake Ahearn and Stephane Lasme. I can laugh about the 2008 season now.

...

A little. :csad:

What's the go with Dampier lately as well...

Guy was getting steady minutes and the Heat were winning, then they gave him 1 minute against the Clipps for some reason, where they lost. And a 5 minute game against the Hawks which they also lost.

Haven't been able to watch games while on my holiday... has he been hurt? What's the go, Spo?

There was also the Chicago game where they got slaughtered on the boards and gave up the GW 3 on an offensive rebound; Dampier DNPd that one.

It's Spo being Spo and further succumbing to his Joel Anthony fetish. Damp did nothing to play himself out of the rotation and Joel has done nothing to prove he'll be valuable against the sizable frontlines that will await in the playoffs. Spoelstra has it locked into his head that Anthony provides immeasurable benefits that don't show in the boxscore.

I'm attempting to convince myself that he's just choosing to save the veteran mileage for when it counts, but I believe I mainly believe to be a fanciful endeavor on my part. Joel is going to log 30 mpg in the playoffs and I'm going to slam my remote and throw things at the wall. It is what it is.
