I really want LOST to win every award they are nominated for, but going against DEXTER........ i'm not sure..... I think John Lithgow will definately beat out Michael Emerson and Terry O' Quinn :(

They are not in the same category.

Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series

Terry O’Quinn, LOST
Michael Emerson, LOST

Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series

John Lithgow, DEXTER

I really need to start watching Dexter. I grabbed the first two seasons around Christmas for $10 each, but haven't had the time to watch them. I've heard a lot of good things about it...I just don't have as much time to watch TV as I'd like. Maybe I'll start tonight if I have some time.

I'm rooting for LOST too. Don't think it will win, but you never know. Hoping Terry gets the supporting actor award...I just think that he was amazing this season playing two different characters (although Emerson was awesome too).

how come the Emmy's dont' have a music catergory for Drama Series???? LOST had the best musical score this season :(

They are not in the same category.

yeah, i noticed that too

I know Entourage Season 6 sucked...but damn not even a nod for Piven or Dillon. Thats cold

And once again Psych snub. Zach Gilford snub for FNL, but Im glad to see Britton and Chandler finally get nomimated.
And I still dont get why Two and a Half Men in nominated for anything
. Also the guys who play Leckie and Sledge in The Pacific should have gotten a nod

And I love Modern Family but it is too unfair that all of them are nominated in supporting categories lol

Good nomination year overall

Good nomination year overall

they all put in as supporting, which I think says a lot for how they feel about the show

Ugh, the snubbing of USA shows is ridiculous. The only nomination for Burn Notice is for its worst aspect? Where's the love for Donovan, Campbell, and Anwar? What about Royal Pains, White Collar, and Psych, all of which are better than anything on network TV and most cable networks? Monk still gets nominations? The show stopped being good about four years ago. That could've gone to a worthy candidate (like Bomer, DeKay, or Donovan). That's my biggest problem with the drama category.

Beyond that, why the hell is Lithgow a guest star if he was in every episode of the season? Its little more than the Academy's way of ******ing Lost even though Lithgow deserves Best Supporting Actor. By bumping him to Guest Star, they've in turn once again screwed Gregory Izbin who deserves guest star (and he actually was a guest star).

Also, still no nomination for Simon Baker for The Mentalist. Really? Hugh Laurie's schtick as House is old. He's got Tony Shalloub syndrome. The show is really no longer good. The actor is just phoning it in. He has no business being nominated, but they continue to do so out of habit. Simon Baker should receive his nomination.

But the real crime this year are the Comedy nominations. Parsons does not deserve it. Same with Cryer. But especially Colfer. I know that Glee is the trendy show this year, but Colfer is easily one of its worst aspects. His acting always feels so incredibly forced.

Also, really? Shalloub again!?! What about Jay Harrington? His dry performance made the criminally underrated Better Off Ted! This show may not have received love in ratings, but it deserved some nominations.

And excuse me, how do you snub Ed O'Neill when nominating every other adult cast member of Modern Family? He's the best cast member with MAYBE the exception of Ty Burrell. He's miles better than Ferguson. He deserved the nod (and the win).

The entire Best Supporting Actor category for comedy is off. I LOVE Modern Family, but comeon, the entire category is devoted to it. And I know, they are all supporting roles as its an ensemble cast, but Stonestreet (who is admittedly really good) and Ferguson do not deserve their nominations. Instead, Adam Baldwin deserves one for Chuck (he was great this year and actually saw proper development) as does Kevin Dillion for Entourage. He was amazing this past season as his character actually had a proper arc and he delivered perfectly. I love Modern Family as much as the next guy, but the Academy went overboard on it. Of course, this is simply evidence that the Academy needs to add a "Best Ensemble," category.

Frankly, I don't think Glee deserves its nomination. Its second half is no where nearly as good as its first making it feel uneven and it gets way too preachy and frankly, the story telling gets sloppy. Glee also does not deserve to be on there for one other reason. Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia. How the Academy continues to overlook the funniest show on TV is beyond me. The Office should also be replaced with Community which surpased it in every way this season. Also, where was the love for Bored to Death?

I took the liberty of fixing the atrocious nominations I've bolded the changes:

Outstanding Drama Series
BREAKING BAD
DEXTER

And that, friends, is how the nominations should have been.

I think this serves as proof for the need of a "Best Ensemble," category. While Stonestreet and Ferguson are both very good, neither deserved their nomination. However, if there were a "Best Ensemble Cast," category they could get recognition that they deserve (as Modern Family would win hands down) without plugging up an entire category.

Conan O'Brien nominated for the Tonight Show and Jimmy Fallon hosting?

Martin Short was pretty awesome in 'Damages', I think he deserves the nom

Nice to see Matthew Fox get nominated. He was great this year. Also, hell yeah to Seth Green and H. Jon Benjamin. That's awesome.

we talked last year about the favor system the Emmys works on, and this year is just business as usual

of course the USA shows are going to get snubbed, its not like NBC/Universal is going to raise a fuss because the Emmy broadcast is on their network and their big horses (The Office, 30 Rock) are going to get their trophies

and now there is going to be a backlash against the cable shows because the network shows are going to try making a comeback this fall

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Big Bang, Modern Family, and The Good Wife!

I'm really surprised that Ed O'Neill didn't get nominated though.

Bryan Cranston for BREAKING BAD, Larry David for 'Curb' and Gregory Itzen for '24'.

Can we ever get to a year when 30 Rock, Tina Fey and Seteve Carrell aren't nominated?:whatever:

The Good Wife isn't a terrible show. It's actually not that bad. Plus it has Chris Noth.

Good to see Coco Christopher O'Brien get nominated.
