the rule only says you have to "intervew" minority candidates, not offer them the position
I don't see why. He had like 2 good seasons and tons of mediocre ones. Which is I guess a step up, but he has done nothing to warrant keeping his job.
Marvin Lewis is expected to hold some kind of press conference later today. I wonder if he'll be announcing his resignation? (This is the last year of his contract.)
I think people see the problem being more because of players show-boating than Marvin. He does alot of charity and foundation work.
That reflects poorly on his ability to keep a team on task, though. He can't keep his team focused, and they under perform all the time as a result. He's not a great coach.
I think someone along the lines of Bill Cowher is the ONLY ONE who could legitimately handle the egos on the Bengals' team.

Him and Ocho Cinco would not get along.
Hence why you trade them.
That'd be hilarious

That'd be hilarious
so the Vikings will call Tony Dungy, he'll politely decline, and the Vikings become the next team to subvert the Rooney Rule
Well, being as they've appointed a black man, Leslie Fraizer as interim head coach, I don't think that will happen.
I'm pretty sure the world would implode if Brett Favre was actually benched.![]()
Is it me, or does the Cards epic fail of a season fall on the head coach for choosing Anderson over Leinart? Then going with Anderson for a few games....then Hall...flip flopping it all around.
He should bench Farve and go with Jackson or the 3rd stringer. 3-7...why not. No one wants Favre do die out there in a lost season.
Ed Werder would be on suicide watch, and we would see him in front of Brett's house in Mississippi in a candlelight vigil.

If not for Whisenhunt, the Cardinals would not be in a position to fail epicly. This season would just be another one of their many fails. Leinart would've done nothing for the Cards. He had his shot at the starting position and blew it by being the same old Leinart. The Cards gave Anderson another shot, it failed. They had a lot more problems to worry about than QB in the draft, though. The Cards needed to use the draft to beef up their defense. Now Whisenhunt needs to get a good defensive coordinator to really turn it around while he focuses on drafting and building an elite quarterback. Whis is a good coach. Give it time, he rebuilt the Cards once, he'll do it again.
I don't think that Fraizer can bench Favre. It was either going to be Childress or Favre at this point. They picked Favre.
FOX/CBS carrying the game would mostly have the sideline reporter interviewing him on the sideline, asking what it like holding a clip board.
Farve: Well..it's a important job..I got up early...made sure the pens were well stocked...that they were working..made sure my wrist was good, little tight.
ESPN BREAKING NEWS: FARVE WRIST IS TIGHT, MAY NOT BE ABLE TO HOLD CLIP BOARD.

If Favre's wrist is tight from holding a clipboard, then they should have signed Jim Sorgi. He's excellent at that.
Every year, everyone says it is the Texans year, but year after year after year, they disappoint. I am sorry guys, but this is a trend. The Texans will never be an elite team, and looks like not even a playoff team. They can't win close games and they choke. I knew they'd be overrated this season.
