2011-12 NCAA Basketball Thread: Top Dogs

Well, the year ended with a shocking champion in UConn. Winners of 11 straight games (5 in the Big East tourney and 6 to win it all), they came out of nowhere to be one of the most surprising champions of the last decade.

Since I'm a B1G fan, gotta see how Nebraska affects the powerhouses such as Michigan State and Ohio State... I'm kidding!

Can Michigan continue to go back on the uprise?
How will Duke look without Kyrie and gang?
Will Notre Dame be overrated to start the season once again?
Can Lord Izzo and the retooled Spartans be a sleeper this season?

We'll find out in about 4 months!

My lord my Wildcats are going to be epic. Ehh it pains me to say this but UNC will be too.

Does it bother anyone that Butler has had the same amount of tournament success as the Fab Five?

Been watchin the NC Pro-am past couple of weeks. My Tar Heels look mighty good. Dexter broke Rivers' ankles so many times I lost count! Looking forward to playing Michigan St. on the aircraft carrier in the first annual carrier classic.

Word from the camps is that Anthony Davis may not only be the best freshman but the best player next year. Have you guys seen the video of him posterizing the Plumlees? Pretty awesome.

Great. This thread's gonna be a ton of ACC rivalry. With a little SEC mixed in (I despise Kentucky though) and a sprinkle of B1G.

Here's to hoping I don't have to put another Kentucky fan on blast this season & then watch them get banned a few days later.

No bashing from me. I will only say that you fired the first shot but I'm gonna assume that it was all in fun. Heck, if it wasn't for duke, who WOULD we have to show up for during conference play? Anyway love the rivalry. Was glad to see Ky go down last yr in the tourney. Wish WE had gotten by them but this year should be different. On a down note, Leslie McDonald, who should have had a major breakout year coming up, tore his acl the other night at the pro am. Hopefully he'll redshirt and come back 100% next season. One thing we don't have a shortage of is shooting guards!

McGurk, Izzo rocks. He's gotten some bad breaks in the tourney the last couple yrs. but I think he will taste some major success soon. He's just one of the better coaches going today.

Little tidbit: I installed K's entertainment system back in '86. He came in later in the evening with his hand out and says, "Mike Kryshewski!"
I grabbed his hand, pumped it once and said with a totally straight face, "Dean Smith." Took him a sec to realize I was joking and he started laughing. True story.

I reported what I saw personally and would have posted video (it's on youtube) but for some reason I can't post url links. It wasn't propaganda as you seem to think but as I said, we'll see how things really are come conference time. Rivers is a good player and looks even better when no one is playing defense on him. However if you happened to watch the Jordan Classic or the McD's game, you saw how my boy McAdoo dominated him, took away his MVP and scored more points. Again not propaganda, plenty of video on youtube.
I don't blame you for not enjoying hearing that your prize player was being taken to school by some Tar Heels but that doesn't make it propaganda.

Not that I'm aware of. I never said that what I saw would translate 100% into the season. I have repeatedly stated that we would have to wait and see what would happen. BUt your posts have gotten progressively more and more negative and sarcastic. What's fun about that?
I see now why all the other threads turned into duke bashing. It's hilarious that you can't.
