Bears-Packers Week!

Love the excitement, hate the Packers.

So how do you feel about Cutler saying he won't make it through the YEAR to the press? I mean, it's the f'n truth since the O Line is horrible again this year & he's been sacked more than anyone else in the League even at this early stage.

Hmmm, both of New England's TEs are banged up & iffy, maybe Ochocinco can finally do something of note since his arrival.

i feel bad for cutler....hes gonna die behind that oline

jack del rio should have been fired last year

There is a big difference between working out on your own and doing ota's and conditioning programs with coaches. Do you really think most of these guys did high impact workouts on there own for the entrie lockout?

Most of them did if you watched any of NFL Network in the off-season and lockout. Most do that for off-season conditioning anyway. These guys have been paying top trainers to do that very thing for years, and if they didn't, knowing they'd eventually get back to football, then it's on them.

He has been absolutely pounded, not just to start this year, but also last year. He won't last the year at this rate.

He actually said most of the right things and was careful not to blame the line.

He didn't have to name them specifically, it's painfully obvious. The Bears HAVE to do something to protect Cutler but for the moment, Clay Matthews is going to be saying Hi this weekend. :o

Frank Omiyale will own that punk Matthews!

Just kidding ... I'm not that delusional

Hopefully several times...

Hi Jay! :awesome:

I am very happy the NFL is back!! Have enjoyed football from the time I was a young kid and always will. I actually have two teams that I consider my favorites, and yes, I know it drives some other NFL fans nuts, but oh well. My first team I would like to mention is the Pittsburgh Steelers, who after taking a beating from the Ravens, appear to have put the train back on the tracks, at least to a certain degree. My other team is the Kansas City Chiefs and well, R.I.P. Hate to be completely negative, but it looks like could be a long season for the Chiefs. Cassel is not the answer at QB and it appears that the Coach Haley may have lost the team. Just appears that nobody is on the same page at that organization. Anyway, that's my brief take on my two teams in the NFL for now.

well welcome to the NFL thread here....we're all reasonably decent here.....

Welcome to the Sports forum. I am your lord and master.

and 'Fire is not shy about sending undesirables to Federal Poundtown if they get out of line

I almost feel bad for Cutler because for some reason he seems to be one of the most heavily scrutinized QBs in the league and I'm not sure why. Maybe he is a jerk or whatever, but there are a lot of other players that have been rude to people or other players and no one seems to trash them for it. In fact, if it's a defensive player or cocky receiver, the media seems to have an "OHHHH DID YOU HEAR WHAT ___ SAID ON TWITTER? HAHAHA, LOVE THAT GUY!" attitude about it when it's some (usually self-proclaimed) badass defensive back or some loudmouth WR.

Hell, DeAngelo Hall came out this week and said he was deliberately going to try and hit Tony Romo and Felix Jones in their injuries. And everyone on NFL Network acts like it's so funny and cool. In a league where everyone is always preaching player safety, I find their reaction to Hall's comments pretty hypocritical. Of course, maybe they just had that reaction because Hall isn't that good. But still.

Anyway, back to Cutler... yeah, maybe he should have went back into that playoff game, who knows. What I do know is that he was the MOST sacked QB in the league last year, and it's a miracle that he made it to the end of the season, let alone led the Bears to the NFC championship. And I also know that various media personalities, sanctimonious Bears fans (not all of them but some) and sore Broncos fans (who should have really been directing their anger at Josh McDaniels) were declaring Cutler a trade bust and an a**hole from the day he set foot in Chicago. People need to get it through their heads that a bad or an average team doesn't immediately become a Super Bowl winner just because they pay big bucks for a franchise QB. Especially not when you have Lovie Smith as head coach or an authoritarian jackass like Mike Martz calling the offense... a guy that (at times) could make Bruce Arians look like a genius.

Bruce Arians and genius should never be in the same sentence my friend.

LOL, fair enough. I'll rephrase:

Especially not when you have Lovie Smith as head coach or an authoritarian jackass like Mike Martz calling the offense... a guy that (at times) could make Bruce Arians look like he's not a complete idiot.

All this Pittsburgh related chatter is making me nauseous. :o

So, does the hottest rookie in the League come down to Earth this Sunday or are we looking at a 3rd straight 400+ yard game?

How good is the Jags' defense? I really haven't been paying attention to them.

Average at best with a truly suspect secondary.

Alright everyone, I have a monumentally wonderful announcement:

Brett Favre is BACK in football!

As a college football announcer for Ole Miss. Looks like a 1 game deal pending on how well it goes. :o

Our secondary looked pretty suss as well with Tremell out...

Receivers/Secondary I think Carolina looked better than we did and won out... Rogers won out though.
