I don't even think that many people probably hate Tebow the person. It's the coverage and overhype that rubs everyone the wrong way.

Personally, I don't care much one way or the other.

Yeah, the coverage and hype is annoying, but Tebow is the biggest star college football has had in years, so it makes sense.

Eli defeats the #31 ranked pass defense in the NFL and now the NY media acts as if he beat the 18-0 Pats team again and demands immediate recognition of his "elite" status...

Exactly. Everyone is acting like the 9 turnovers and countless mistakes are suddenly undone by one win. Sure, Eli is a better clutch QB than his brother. But his brother is ****** in the clutch. Peyton is a quarterback who needs everything to go perfectly to win. The second it doesn't, he gets angry, turns on his team, starts screaming orders, etc which results in the team falling apart (seriously, for such a great QB, Peyton is one of the worst leaders in the NFL). But when they aren't in the clutch, Peyton is a hell of a lot better than Eli as are at least 10 to 13 other QBs in the league. Eli had a good drive against the worst defense in the NFL. Hardly a case to be anointing him MVP as certain members of the sports media seem keen to do.

Granted, Eli deserves some praise. He takes more of a beating from the sports media than any other starter in the league (except for Sanchez) because of his name. He deserves credit where credit is due. He kept his head about him and produced a game winning drive. Of course, that is exactly what a 30 year old quarterback who has been in the league for nearly 10 seasons should do. For a rookie or sophomore or even third year starter, what Eli did would have been a very impressive feat. For a quarterback at his stage, it should be par for the course. I don't understand why the New York media seems to think he did something special.

Well there is a lot of football left to be played. Green Bay I'm guessing loses at least one game this season. Even if they did go 16-0, we've already been through what can happen with the 2007 Patriots.

True. But right now, the Packers are looking like the best in the league. No one else is playing at their level....right now.

I thimk Tim Tebow is a good dude, but given his skill set, it's going to be hard for him to have long term success as an NFL QB. I don't understand how anyone could dislike Tebow as a person.

I don't think anyone said they dislike Tebow as a person, but I don't think we should use Tebow's personality as the basis of the argument on why he deserves to be the starting QB or how his skills are not sufficient to take his team to the playoff and beyond.

I don't dislike Tebow, I just want him to fail because i hated ESPN constantly riding his jock

Well, I never said he deserved to be a starting QB, and yes while not recently, there have been people who said they dislike Tebow because of his religious views.

I've heard more about Eli Manning in the past 24 hours than I have in the past 3 years.

Apparently playing like an 8th year quarterback should play is a big deal in New York.

Eli did it without Hakeem Nicks and Ahmad Bradshaw...He also broke a 31 patsy home regular winning streak. I think its well-deserved...

31st ranked passing defense.

No, it's not.

OMG, The Broncos beat the Raiders and ESPN goes on Tebow ass kissing mode. F my life...

"Tebow proves his critics wrong!"

They do realize that Willis McGahee contributed more than Tim Tebow did for the win, right?

ESPN has got to find someone to kiss ass to now that Favre is retired.

Who's ass do they kiss when Tim Tebow loses ?

Manning, Rogers, and as much as I dislike him, Brady deserve all the praise they get.

31st ranked passing defense.

No, it's not.

Cam Newton would pass for 550 yards against them...no one is beating Craig's 611 ish Pro football passing record though (granted, that was a NFL Europe game, but still)

Matt Forte close to fifty yards less than five minutes in to the game.

Pay the man.

Eli does fine IMO....he has his good games and his bad games...got hot at the right time in 2007

is he "elite"?? don't know, don't give a s***

my quarterback

Holy ****. That was real? I thought it was fan-made.

WOW .

I love hearing Gruden laugh at and praise Cutler's....unconventional (to put it nicely) play style. If Gruden were coaching Cutler he would give him complete hell for it, even if the play were successful (like that near sack) :funny:

Stupid play by Phily. A fake punt? Chicago already has momentum. Why give them field position too? They could've pinned them right inside the five. Instead they may break the game wide open.

Don't compare Nnamdi Asomougha to Revis Island ever again....
