They still talk about Tom as if it's Tom from 3 or 4 years ago & it's f'n annoying. He's a great QB but he's not at the level he's advertised at these days.

LOL @ Sanchez.

Hey everyone,

Some of you guys probably think I've been avoiding this thread since my Steelers sh** the bed on Sunday night, but the truth is, I was out of town on business until late last night and haven't been around to fight on da Internets. Nevertheless, congrats to Genesis and the Ravens fans... looks like the division will be theirs this season but I'm hoping that Pittsburgh gets back on track and at least gets the wild card spot. Guess we'll see when they play Cincy on Sunday. Can't believe I'm nervous about that game. Oh, well.

Anyway, Thursday Night Football is back! Unfortunately it starts off with what will probably be a stinker. I had high hopes for Carson Palmer and the Raiders, mainly because I hate Jason Campbell and Palmer at least once was a good QB, but after losing to Teblow last week I think it really might be over for him. And Philip Rivers sucks. Picking that arrogant prick in the first round of my fantasy draft has made me decide never to play fantasy football again after this season. But maybe the game tonight won't suck. We'll see, I guess.

Phew. We can cancel the calls to the local media for your whereabouts.

LOL, fair enough. But since I've gotten in some heated debates on this board over the Steelers/Ravens rivalry, I just didn't want anyone to think I was hiding out after the Steelers got beaten again.

The Steelers and Ravens play throwback football. The NFL may not like that anymore, but I do. Offensive players are protected too much.

Agreed. Well, to be accurate, SOME offensive players are protected too much.

How can you call Brady over rated? He has had a couple bad weeks but he is on a team that has NO defense and no really competent wide out and he still managed to throw for over 500 yards one game this season. I just don't see how he is "over rated" when he is having one off year but he still has three rings and is still the only player that was unanimously voted MVP in the NFL.

Tom Brady may come off as a gaint *****e, but he's not overrated in my opinion.

Im a Jets fan...Tom Brady is not overrated.

That guy alone is the only thing that is keeping that team afloat...Without him they are a 3 win team

Poeman as someone in New York and closer to this type of press, why does Tom get such flack from New York media? I'm in Missouri so I don't get that news often.

I hate the Patriots, but you can't be an objective fan and call Tom Brady overrated. Brady is really holding the team together with duct tapes and adhesives, and without him this team won't be a good team. This team isn't like back in 2008 when they went 11-5 with Matt Cassel as QB, and right now they must outscore their opponent in every game just to survive.

I think most NYers know that Tom Brady is an elite QB. I don't really know in the Tri-State area what is the division of Giants vs. Jets fans. But it's easy to see why Jets fans would dislike Brady because of the divisional rivalry. The other issue is probably that it's the whole New York vs. Boston rivalry.

I think Brady is pretty smug.

Tom Brady has put himself in those situations in the past.

He joked about the Giants holding them below 17 points during Super Bowl. His rant last year against the Jets prior to the playoff game.

Exactly, all you have to do is watch his press conferences.

That just seems like confidence to me though. I would pay just to see a Rams player be honest or exude that kind of emotion. Tom is by far my favorite player on the field because I have seen him do amazing things and he plays the position better than anybody, my opinion of course, but I don't get to see pressers and stuff like that because of my location. That said when ever there is a Sunday with football I wear my Brady player jersey with pride.

His comments regarding the Steelers before they played two weeks ago were pretty arrogant as well. No doubt he's one of the best QB's to play the game, but he definitely comes off as a pretentious ass off the field.

It's confidence because he's your favorite player. If he wasn't, then it'd be arrogance. I'm sure a lot of Jets fans love the "swagger" of their Coach. A lot of non fans dislike it.

He just rubs me the wrong way like when he told the story of the first time he met Peyton Manning.

He just seems like a jerk.

Fair point Erz, I am a fairly cocky person myself so i tend to gravitate to people like that. I also just like his sideline attitude. I like seeing guys get ripped a new one for not doing their job, thats why Steven Jackson is my second favorite player. He laid into his O-Line against the Saints, loved seeing Passion in the game.

He's a *****enozzle.

He's not currently overrated, because at the moment he's all that's holding the Patsies afloat.

That said, I do believe he WAS overrated and that the media used to talk down the help he used to get.

I think Brady does come off a pompous whether it's intentional or not. But, it's the former, it's easy to see why he never does commercials while like every other QB does one.
