Boxoffice.com predicts $186 million opening weekend for The Dark Knight Rises and $520 million in total. Remains to see if they're underestimating it as badly as they did with Avengers and The Hunger Games. Then again, it might be trickier to predict first movies in a franchise than a a third movie.

the march trailer was the last footage i saw. but i read on movie sites that FOX realesed 2 big trailers that spoiled the story and one poster. so i think they dont care .

MIB took it from Avengers at long last. I love Avengers, but it felt like the summer season doesn't really start until we start getting some healthy competition.
You people with your SWATH love.
You people with your SWATH love.
Haven't the early reactions been lukewarm for SWATH?
Also I believe press screening are till like Tuesday or Wednesday, usually when its that close to the release date its not a positive sign.
When did Prometheus have press screenings? If that film is crap i will probably cry. And i don't mean critical reception, i don't care about that, i mean if when i see it i find it crap, it'll be like a gut shot.
yeah 70 mill 4 day is not good for will smith summer blockbuster.i thought it would do 70 mill in 3 days and another 15 mill on the holliday.i think this will be a hint of what spiderman does because people are luke warm on it.total recall will bomb colin ferrel wont carry it.swath i think will be a hit you got the twilight crowd and the thor crowd interested in it.with amazing spiderman if its good it will be like batman bigins with not crazy domestic numbers the sequel like the darknight could make a lot of moneyThose numbers make me think the audience is very weary on Hollywood cash-grab retreads. Even though MIB3 got (mostly) good reviews and solid WOM, $70 million in a 4-day holiday weekend is not good...especially for Will Smith.
I think this skepticism we're seeing from moviegoers spells bad things for TASM, Total Recall and The Expendables 2. It also makes me very curious as to what SWATH, a potential franchise-starter, will do.
COOL THOUGHT: Maybe this means audiences want stronger women in their blockbusters now. Katniss and Black Widow say hi.
