I think at the end of the day, the Phins wins the AFC East.

This play by Mangold was FAR worse than the Suh block on Sullivan

If that's not intent to injure, I dont know what is?

If that was Suh, Goodell wouldve come down and put him in the electric chair right on the spot.

:waa: The thug who said he is trying to injure other players and has stomped on and punched them is such a victim.

Mangold was already coming at him when Sullivan seems to start turning.

Plus Mangold isn't known as a dirty player.

Anyway, does anyone else find it funny how ESPN is acting as if the Patriots' season is over. Some headlines I've seen today: "What can save the Patriots?" "Will Gronk turn the Patriots around?" "Is Edelman the Pats' last remaining hope?" "Can Gronk save the Pats' offense?"

I swear, for a team that is 2-0, the media is acting like they are 6-6, midway through the season. Yeah, they've had a rough start but they are also injured and playing on a short week. It is silly for the media to write-off the team with unarguably the best active coach in the NFL, and arguably ever and the best quarterback in the NFL and maybe ever (again, arguably) because they had a couple ugly WINS.

^ Yeah....I kinda have to agree with TIH.

Hulk might have a point if Mangold had a history of stomping on players, hitting players, grabbing players facemasks and horse collaring them and even saying that he tries to injure his opponents....but he doesn't.

It does not matter if a player has a so-call history or not, that is a finable hit...and you want to talk about history, Goodell has a history of being selective in doling out fines & suspensions.

I don't disagree and he probably will get a fine.

What drives me nuts is how they are freaking out over Brady getting mad the guy had every right to have yelled at those guys they deserved it. In his mind they're Patriots and Patriots are better than any other team on every level in his mind so they were making mistakes that you do not make as Patriots.

End of the Day the Patriots are 2-0, in five days they have won two close games, good for them.

when you run a 24 hours sports network and sports really only happens 4-5 hours a day you tend to over blow some things.

Totally disagree. Suhs was a 'block' 10 yards behind the play, this was a big guy not used to tackling thinking the pats player was going to make a cut to gain more yards and being horribly wrong. Might have drawn a late hit flag despite it being a pretty cear accident, by definitely doesn't warrant a fine. It looks bad because of where the pats player ended up, but mangolds head is going down as he dives. It's basically horrible tackling form at the wrong time. But the key is he's actually making a play ON the ball, not blocking a player 10 yards behind the play who has NO chance of catching the runner.

Vick Ballard out for the season.

Give it a rest. The guy got fined $100K, the largest fine for an on field incident ever, for what wasnt even a clear cut chop block. It looked more like he whiffed going for his midsection. Even Sullivan, the Viking player, said he didnt think it was intentional. If it was any other player in the NFL there wouldnt have even been a fine.

Hes a rotten s.o.b...He knew what he was doing...should have been suspened for 3 games AT LEAST

Mangold should get fined big time for that hit

You know, the funny thing about Suh getting fined over 100K is that it actually isn't a big deal. Him being suspended for a minimum of one game costs more than that fine. Goddell might as well had done nothing.

Why is that worse?

He is CLEARLY making his tackling motion while the ball carrier is still deeply in bounds.

Yeah...and the guy is going straight for the knees.

Not when he begins his tackle motion.

When he begins his tackle motion, he's going for the chest. It's not his fault the ball carrier ran out of bounds after he was already in the air.

^ Dude stop lying to yourself, his motion from the very beginning was down.....towards the knees; and the receiver never dipped downward until after his legs was taken away from him. :whatever:

He was going low but if he doesn't perform that spin move out of bounds he gets hit at the waist/thigh level.

Yeah, I don't see anything wrong with Mangold's hit. He clearly wasn't intending to take out the dude's knees.

Still gotta fine him on the precident that it's a low hit and the league doesn't condone that.
