Quinn Kapernicking was awesome!

The 49ers just tore the Rams a new assh*** with that run.

I can see that Apex is banned, but I still feel the need to respond:

Don't try to use the reading comprehension angle. You're making the 'established' debate point and I called you out on it.
No. Read it again. You misinterpreted what I said plain and simple. Read it again:
Never assume that a prospect is better than a player who has actually been successful in the NFL. That kind of thinking is just dumb. (I'm referring to EJ Manuel when I say "successful in the NFL" by the way)
What I meant when I said this is that you were calling Bridgewater/Boyd better QB's than Smith/Manuel even though the former have never played a down in the NFL, while Manuel has and has proven himself as a good QB. You completely twisted that to mean something completely different.

Bridgewater very well could end up being a better QB than Manuel when he gets to the NFL, but to say such a thing at this point in both of their careers is dumb. One quarterback is a successful NFL quarterback and the other is a promising college prospect. You cannot call one better than the other if they're in two completely different leagues. When/if Bridgewater comes to the NFL and proves that he's better than Manuel than I will gladly acknowledge it.

I still have no idea what Christian Ponder has to do with anything.

Then you have no excuse.
WTF is your problem?

Damn, for a second, I thought Doomsday got permabanned. I was about to be pissed. He is a regular in here.

Oh really? If anything, I thought things got more strict in the last 3 or some odd years.

People get permad all the time and I'm
Sorry guys, I though we'd be better.

I know its the Rams but the 49ers needed this game badly.

No Crabtree, Willis, Nnamdi, Aldon, or Ian Williams.

Still think Alex Smith should have been playing?

:o

Gore won this game I think.

I never said the 49ers should have kept Smith.

I said I find the humor and irony in dumping Alex Smith in favor of Kaepernick, and in response Kaepernick stinks up the joint for 2 and a half games while Alex Smith continues his "he just wins but nobody gives him credit for it because he didn't put enough fantasy points or highlight reel plays" success.

I think Kaepernick has more upside than Smith though. I do think that some pundits pegged him as the G.O.A.T. a little too prematurely, but I think he has a lot of potential to develop into a superstar QB for years to come. Smith is solid enough, and with a good team around him, perhaps you could win a championship. But I think Kaep has the potential to be the catalyst that could take a team to the next level, versus just being a guy who doesn't make a lot of mistakes.

I don't disagree with any of this and I never said otherwise.

I just think it's funny is all.

Watching the same people who whined and complained everytime Alex -WON- because he didn't do it flashy enough, now turning around and excusing every mistake Colin makes, even if he's a main contributor to the team's struggles, simply because he's not Alex and he's "flashy".

Not true at all.

People said what they said about Alex Smith because he wasn't a quarterback that could lead his team into the playoffs and excel. The keyword there is lead. The dreaded term "game manager" applies to him. I mean that in the least disrespectful way possible. Matt Schaub fits the same exact bill. Yes, that team has Foster, Johnson, Watt, and Cushing, but with Matt Schaub at the helm, Houston won't be going to a Super Bowl.

Once again, not true.

Nobody is excusing Kaepernick. He played two putrid games. Numbers don't lie. He's been scrutinized for his performance. For the last two weeks, you have been magnifying Colin's two bad games and trying to validate Alex Smith being wronged. You keep going on about it. However, you also keep forgetting something. It's only Week 4. I'll stress that......Week 4. Wait before Thanksgiving before you start mentioning Alex Smith. Goodness gracious, Nell. You've been too early with your words. Chill and wait until November.

Not to mention that the Chiefs have been winning in spite of themselves through terrible play of their opponents. The Chiefs wins have all been pretty ugly and Alex Smith has had very little to do with them.

This is also true. We'll see how good the Chiefs truly are by the first week of November.

I personally can't stand Kaepernick. I think he is as arrogant and obnoxious as his coach, but anyone who says that the Niners made the wrong move is delusional. Kaepernick could have the worst sophomore slump (although not technically a sophomore) of all time, and trading Smith in favor of Kaepernick would still be the right move. Kaepernick has potential to be a great NFL quarterback. Alex Smith is at his glass ceiling and it is that of a game manager.

It's all absolutely true. And yes, Alex can do all the things people say he can't. Or did you miss Alex Smith -lead- the 49ers to their first playoff victory in almost a decade, and outplay Drew freaking Brees in the process?

I laugh at people making excuses for Alex Smith's successes. Is he a -great- QB? No. But he does the most important thing in football - win. Winning - it's more important than fantasy football #'s and more important than ESPN top 10 highlight plays.

He went 19-6 with Harbaugh in a season and a half with San Francisco, and is now 3-0 in Kansas City with that team -already- surpassing their win total from last season. Keep making excuses while Alex keeps winning.

Kaepernick displayed some severe concerns last year. And now this year those concerns are actually effecting the team's success. That doesn't mean that Alex Smith should have been kept over Kaepernick, but it does mean that Kaepernick has been very overhyped and is not some clear cut god sent savior sent down by football dieties to make mere mortal defenses bow before him. You say "wait until November", and I say, if Kaep keeps playing the way he has, by November our season will already be over.

I guess it's a good thing nobody said that.
