2016 Presidential Third Party Discussion Thread.

I'm a Richmond resident, the Times Dispatch has leaned toward the Republican Party for a long time now.

As much as I like them endorsing another candidate and throwing a wrench at the two party system, their endorsement feels like it speaks more about the dire state of the GOP more than anything.

It does, it has nothing to do with the strength of the Johnson/Weld ticket. IMO, they could have simply not given an endorsement and stated WHY....

Ron Paul is thinking about endorsing Jill Stein.

I can't even... This god damned election.
He explicitly said he's going over all his options. He kept making the case for why if you're a liberal/progressive, Jill Stein makes sense, and if you're a Libertarian, Gary's performance notwithstanding, stick to your principles.

I must admit I have planned on voting Gary Johnson since the election started...
Not because he a bastion of intellectual fortitude....
More because I hate Hillary with the white hot fire of a thousand suns....and Trump scares the ever living crap out of me...

Well, the problem is Malice, it won't matter who we vote for.......Texas will go Trump unfortunately.

But alas i will vote my conscience and that is gary.

I've jumped ship from Hillary in favor of Gary. If given a choice between Hillary and Amanda ****ing Waller, I'd vote for The Wall every time.

The Wall as President would be a cool storyline.

Indeed it would, preferably from Ostrander's pen.

I just feel like a lost soul. There is a 100% chance that I won't be voting for Hillary. I'm trying to decide whether i should vote Democrat up and down the ticket and then vote for Gary or Jill for president or if i should just sit this election out completely. I really don't feel like voting at all.

Just quit, Gary.

What cracks me up about Gary situation is that MSNBC, CNN, and the Clinton Campaign were building him up, giving him tons of media exposure, and giving him shout outs when they thought he was going to siphon votes from Trump. Now that the polls show that he is siphoning a ton of Millennial protest votes from Clinton and not effecting Trump, The media then decides to destroy him.

Yeah, it wasn't the media that destroyed him. He failed at a fairly basic question for a serious presidential candidate. And then continued to show evidence that he isn't taking this seriously.

But you should still vote. Write in someone for president if you must. But the down ticket races are just as, if not more, important than the presidential race. Voting is important, period.

It was BS questions.

Aleppo question should had been asked as Sryia(sp?) crisis. And as for who is your fa foreign leader? What kind of 3rd grade question is that? No matter who he said the media would find fault with his answer. That being said, yes, he answered badly, but the questions were gotcha ones.

Still voting for Gary!

The only interesting things now are how much will Hillary win by and can Gary break 5% of vote and or win New Mexico? Remember, he is at 24% in New Mexico. Up from 16% in summer time.

Only hope Trump has is for a good last two debates. Wikileaks can release all the jnfo they want, but I dont see that damaging her. She survived the email scandal and Bengahzi. Those two are damaging things, but Trump seems to like nosediving his campaign.

I give context clues to the answer in my World Geography course, someone running for President shouldn't need one to answer a question....

My 14 -- 16 year old AP students could have answered both of those questions with no problem....if you want to play with the big boys, in the big boy media....you have to be able to answer simple questions like that, he came off as another Sarah Palin to me.

He came off worse. The whole sticking tongue out during an interview is beyond immature. Palin just came off as stupid. About the only thing I can say is that he at least acknowledged the mistake. There have been more issues since the Aleppo question. If he isn't taking this election serious, why should anyone else.

Gary made a point, but went over the top with saud point by literally biting his tongue.

And yes, kelly. I said he flubbed them. But at same time, i doubt those questions would be asked to Clinton or Trump.

Btw, how well do you think Johnson does in election? Do you think Trump will really tank?

I think Johnson may have his peak in this election....he won't do Perot numbers, but he will do better than any Presidential election he has been a part of to this point.

As far as Trump? I don't think he will TANK, but I think he may lose pretty substantially....but hell, with this election WHO KNOWS what the American people are going to do....a good portion of them have gone off the deep end it seems....with the simple fact that Trump is even in this race.

I read how the Clinton campaign or Clinton PAC's are spending either $15M or $55M on smearing Johnson. But no matter what the number is, he will do better than his 0.99% of the vote in 2012 with 1.275 million votes (or close to 1.3M votes, it's around that number if I recall)

I mean, look at this headline BS.

http://www.businessinsider.com/libe...ouldnt-name-the-leader-of-north-korea-2016-10

Libertarian presidential nominee Gary Johnson couldn't name the leader of North Korea

But in the article...

When he was pressed further to identify the North Korean leader, Johnson appeared incredulous.*
“You want me to name the person"*Johnson responded.*“Really.”

If McAfee were the Libertarian nominee at this point, their be uncensored F-bombs galore in these MSNBC interviews and what not.

As for Trump...I have YET...to see a Clinton yard sign near the road. I've seen Trump signs in surrounding cities and I've put up 3 of the Johnson signs so far, but have yet to see a Clinton sign or bumper sticker.

Where does he get off acting incredulous at that question? That's what you get, Gary.

Johnson and Stein both seem like morons. The USA's entire election lineup is wall to wall stupidity and poor leadership.

John Oliver did a good evaluation of Jill Stein and Gary Johnson. Gary Johnson really could give Trump a run for his money as most clueless candidate of 2016.

Johnson was a republican when he was our governor, and he wasn't a very good governor at that. I think Hilary will win New Mexico. Johnson might come close to Trump though. our current Republican Governor Martinez hates Trump.

Yeah I saw that. Neither of them seemed to be any better than Clinton and Trump.

I'm sorry but Hillary is imminently qualified to be president. now you might not like her. but she is the only one imo that's running that is worthy of consideration. The other 3 are not even close.

Nope. Gary has a sound foreign policy. Get out of the middle east. Work with Russia to deal with Syria. Regime change is killing us. Doesn't want us to go to war. He had a good speech on foreign policy weeks after his blunders on tv at University of Chicago.

Gary is a fantastic two term governor. I admit, depends on who you ask from NM, but his record speaks for itself. Seems like you either love him or hate him from NM.

Pro choice, pro gay marriage, eliminate/reduce national debt, term limits, pro weed, internet freedom, sane immigration policy. Give them a background check, work visa, pay taxes on visa. That simple. No need for a wall. Lower taxes. Balance budgets. And guess what? Honest. Willing to learn. Doesnt quit and doesnt blame others gor mistake.

Now is he as good as he was in 2012? No...i feel he was more prepared in 2012 than now in running a campaign. But he is the only one i believe in and that gives me hope. I don't get any hope from Clinton or Trump. I get more hope from McMullin than Clinton or Trump or Stein. I believe McMullin has some similar ideas that Johnson has.

As for campaign. He's raised over $8M at this point. Has three rallies today in Virgina. At Liberty University, because Tim Tebow dropped out. Not sure on other one, but last one is at VCU tonight. Weld has a rally in Dallas I believe tonight.

Wed is a rally in Hollywood and then on Jimmy Kimmel Live After the Debate special. Gonna be honest, could easily be a set up with gotcha questions cause Kimmel has poked fun at him in recent weeks. ( I admit, the are you smarter than Gary Johnson bit was a bit funny).

Hillary may be qualified, but she is crooked as hell and probably are going to war with Russia if she's elected.

Another thing...Gary biked 70 miles to a rally yesterday. To show how fitness is important. Only took him 6 hours. 63 years old.
