In the wake of all the uproar over the alleged deaths of some major characters in the upcoming 3rd installment of a certain movie franchise, it's come to my attention that this is rather commonplace.

"Beverly Hills Cop III" saw Inspector Todd gunned down by the bad guy.

Officer Lewis met a similar fate in "Robocop III".

The Star Wars franchise-broken into 2 trilogies-had 2 third outings; 1 saw the deaths of Darth Vader, Darth Sidious & Yoda, the other said goodbye to Padme, Mace Windu & the entire Jedi Order.

In "T3", we learned in retrospect that not only was Sarah Conner dead, but John was destined to meet his end at the hands of the very same Terminator that was now protecting him.

"Nightmare on Elm Street 3" brought about the demise of Nancy.

Trinity, Neo & Agent Smith checked out in "Matrix Revolutions".

And fans' hopes simultaneously died nationwide w/the release of both "Superman III" & "Batman Forever". :D

Gollum, Saruman, and Theoden died in Return of the King.

Didn't See That One; I Knew Somebody Checked Out But Not Who.

Well Im not going to spoil it but you can expect a few people to die in X3 as well....

Thats why I liked The Bourne Supremecy
When Jasons wife died in the begining of the film....no one saw that coming!!...not at that time in the movie

Read my opening post.
And Bourne Supremacy isn't the 3rd movie.
Oh-I forgot Whistler in "Blade Trinity".

Chris, don't be suprised if Harry gets killed in SM3

Ohhhhhhhhhh-it could happen. I take it you've already picked out your black dress.

....I know, thats why I said I liked it.Id expect her to die in the 3rd.

Ah. Maybe That's Why They Did It; To Go Against The Norm.
Anyways, I Was Trying To Be Vague So As Not To Spoil But The Expected Deaths That You Referred To In X3 Are What Gave Birth To This Thread.

Well X-Men 3 sees the death of
Cyclops and Xavier.

And I hope Spider-Man 3 sees the demise of Harry and MJ.

I Doubt The Second Half Of Both Those Pairs. Why Do You Want MJ Dead?

I want her dead because:

1.Peter needs to have a tragic death occur to someone he loves in these movies.A homage to one of the most memorable Spidey stories ever. It's pointless killing Gwen because she means NOTHING to him yet.Norman's dead. She missed her chance.

2.Dunst sucks as MJ.She said she's done after SM-3.Let her character leave in a coffin.

I disagree because he's already suffered a tragic loss. And he's already lost Harry as a friend. If Harry succumbs to the madness of the Goblin & dies, he'll need a shoulder to cry on. Killing MJ & hooking him up w/Gwen would destroy the storyline more than any amount of organic webbing ever could. Gwen's purpose, on the other hand, is to die.

Please tell me you're not talking about Uncle Ben.That is the only death Peter is to suffer?? Please.

The effect of MJ's death would have DIFFERENT consequences on Peter than Ben's did.Just like Gwen's did in the comics.

And he's already lost Harry as a friend

Has he?? If they follow true to the comics,Harry will die as a friend to Peter by saving his life, like in SSM#200.

If Harry succumbs to the madness of the Goblin & dies, he'll need a shoulder to cry on. Killing MJ & hooking him up w/Gwen would destroy the storyline more than any amount of organic webbing ever could.

Organic webbing didn't ruin anything.Killing Gwen just because she died in the comics, when her character means nothing to Peter in the movies, that is pointless.

Gwen's purpose, on the other hand, is to die.

Thank god you're not writing SM-3 :)

Here we have to agree to disagree. But for the record, I don't feel the organic webbing ruined anything, but a lot of people do.
And Ultimate proved that Gwen doesn't have to be Peter's girl in order for her death to have an impact. You can know somebody 2 weeks & their death can effect you, especially if you're in a position to prevent it.

Ultimate Spider-Man had the luxury of developing a deep friendship between Gwen and Peter over 50+ issues. She was living with him and Aunt May and all for goodness sake.

SM-3 has about two hours, with a load of new characters, including Gwen, demanding screen time.

I Stick To My Opinion. There's No Need For MJ To Die. Truth Be Told, I Didn't Even Want Gwen Introduced In The Movies At All, Simply Because The Mose Significant Thing She Ever Did In The Comics Was To Die. She Never Knew He Was Spider-Man. She Never Got That Deeply Involved In His Life. MJ, On The Other Hand, Married Peter & Has Been With Him Through Thick & Thin Ever Since.
