Now, keep in mind that this is coming from an advertising major, but has anyone actually seen the other stuff 42 has done? they started the first global puzzle "the vanishing point" for microsoft vista; the dead man's chest online treasure hunt for disney's pirates of the caribbean two: dead man's chest; and ilovebees, the microsoft x-box user created to promote halo 2.

from their site...
"42's market experiences have yielded key insights that inform our creative efforts, including:
Stories that touch an audience throughout their daily lives – via means expected and unexpected – deliver an immersive and memorable experience.
Given the right environment and experiences, people will organize themselves into a cohesive, active, and self-sustaining community.
People thoughtfully drawn in – by story, by community, and by buzz – become a powerful and loyal audience that will drive others to the experience.
Story elements that are artfully placed across existing media platforms are an effective way to deliver content as well as to drive attention to everyday messaging.
Interactions become more meaningful when they connect individuals from their local environment to a larger community."

so i guess this thread is up to discuss, based on what other things 42 has done, what other ideas can they pull for the dark knight, and hopefully the third nolan batman movie.

I reckon we're gonna get similar stuff to what we've got already... people will have to go out and find stuff and come back and put it on a website to eventually unlock it... I doubt there's much else they can do... Would be nice to see a solely internet based game so everyone can participate but as with most advertising for bigs movies the world consists of usa and maybe canada...

BTW... easy on the pink...

I would have to agree with the pink.

A little too much. Hard to read it.

Pink is fine when you have the "Drakon Hype" black background.

They're the ones who did the Nine Inch Nails Year Zero ARG. It was pretty intense and realistic, so judging from that and the Dark Knight ARG, they're pretty down at what they do.

i apologize for the pink. call it feminist, but i like proving that women do like comics.

You're not alone, MissHush. :hq:

That was a cool website you linked. All I know is, if they don't push out some fresh viral goodies soon, I'm gonna get bored. :funny:

TBH I'd have gotten that from the name... it's a bit of a give away... the pink was just overboard

You know it looks like a fun place to work actually. I am sure the day they are doing things to get done by a certain time are crazy nerve racking, but I think the payoff and what was accomplished make it worth the work.

that's what i'm thinking. i would LOVE to intern there. how cool would it be to work on the next batman viral?

What kinda name is 42 Entertainment? That in and of itself is prolly a Viral mystery.

Not sure. the CEO created DisneyQuest though, a virtual theme park located in Orlando. What kind of a name is hush? :woot:

I think i have explained this to you NUMEROUS times and yet you seem to forget! Where is it in Orlando?

It's in Epcot at Walt Disney World

Actually it's not. There's an area in Epcot where there's a lot of video games and stuff, but it's completely different.

DisneyQuest is a completely seperate "park" that's located at Downtown Disney. It's actually really bad ass. A large chunk of it contains more modern video games that you'd find at arcade, as well as a few VR type games. There's also a section where you can design your own rollercoaster and then ride it on a simulator that flips you upside down and around. There's also a floor called "the graveyard" that has a ton of old school arcade games.

Sorry, I got carried away. I'm a disney geek.

yeah, 42 is the answer to the great question of life, the universe, and everything in Hitchhikers Guide...

And the NIN: Year Zero viral was incredible, and still blows away everything they've done for Dark Knight, easily.

I agree with Hush What kinda name is 42 Entertainment? That in and of itself is prolly a Viral mystery.

I agree with Nodwarves4u
42 Entertainment is like knowing the answer to the
ultimate question in Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy.
42 is the answer.
So what is the question?

oh wow. i totally knew that. i'm a disney kid too. i haven't gone to epcot in like two years, but it looked cool. i heard there used to be one in chicago supposingly.

I don't know if this has already been brought up but...I was talking to someone who followed the viral ad campaign by 42 Entertainment for the newest Nine Inch Nails album and he said the culmination of the whole thing led to a private performance by Nine Inch Nails to a small group.

Apparently the show took place in a gutted out warehouse. Halfway through the band's set a riot squad busted in firing blanks, to which the crowd was ushered out into unmarked buses. Does anyone want to confirm or deny this?

Do you guys think anything like this will occur in conjunction with the Dark Knight viral?

That sounds pretty accurate, especially if you listen to their new album its totally about government control and such...

That would be awesome!

Just watched it and it is pretty intense. I am pretty sure it is Trent who is playing solo on the piano, then the stuff happens, and it looks like the police are the ones who come, which makes sense considering the group's message.
