I thought I read in some interview or other official publication that Raimi or someone said the symbiote would not return as Venom with Brock in a sequel if one was decided on? That always sounded kinda fishy to me and when I read Robin91939's prediction with Kraven in SM4 it all made sense. What if (And I realize this is a BIG what if) Raimi is in fact planning on sticking it out for a 4th and is using Kraven as the 4th villian in SM3 to set up the return of the black costume in SM4. With a minor cliffhanger ending in SM3 Raimi could easily set up a Lizard/Kraven/Vermin story for SM4, have Kraven bury Spider-Man and sully his name by parading around in the black costume for 20-30 mins or so of film time before Spider-Man crawls out and puts an end to it.

/shrug its a long shot but I could dig on Kraven being the 4th villian in SM3 and it would definately follow the mass hysteria that the announcement of the 4th villian was said to cause.

Not gonna happen... you can easily introduce Kraven in the middle of SM4... the worl'd greatest hunter brought in NYC to do one thing... kill the lizard... I think this movie will be made eventually... just not with the original cast...

I realize Kraven is a long shot, but I'm still gonna go on record and vote for Kraven as the 4th villian just because everyone else is thinking Mysterio, Shocker, or Lizard. He coincides with the black costume and the Lizard, so if the 4th villian is more than a 10 minute cameo it makes sense to me. Comic-Con is July 20-23 right? I can't wait to find out the official news...the suspense is killing me :P

first of all, how can you compare star wars to spider-man? the orginal 3 star wars movies were made decades ago, and only recently (to milk the franchise for all it's worth) did they make 3 prequels to the orginals (which weren't half as good as the old ones.

how can spider-man be a "saga" like that? we already found out how peter became spider-man. what...do you want to see him grow old and eventually die? no. plus, there's currently no end to the spider-man mythos, since the comics are still going strong. it would be silly to try and drag out the series and milk it for all it's worth.

yeah, but how many years can spider-man stay young? in the comics, forever. in a movie series? not so long. it will eventually become way too unrealistic.

Superman Returns is supposed to take place directly after Superman 2 or 3.

In the 70's and 80's the world reflected the times.

In Superman Returns the world's style has changed dramatically to that of a modern 50's aligned city.

Realism has no place in a movie about Super-Heros.

They're going to do it wether you like it or not.

It's already been made a signed deal, just without actors.

did you read what you quoted from me? because this has nothing to do with what i was talking about.

someone said they want to see the spider-man story from beginning to end. but there is no definitive end to it as of now. yes, we have tons of villians and story arcs that could be put on screen, but do we have an ending? no. we have decades of comics with no end. so i don't see how the spider-man movies can be compared to the star wars films in that way.
