hello my parents are giving me $500 for comic books for graduation present and i was wondering what i should buy first here is what tpb's that i own

id keep the 500, idk if id spend that all on comics. i mean if their is a special comic at some store selling for about that much and you see that could be a good investmeant id go for that option. could sell for a bit more one day.

Now I really just gave him some good Superhero Comics however there's plenty of indie, non-superhero comics out there that I'm sure some other hype members can help enlighten him on. Like Rex Mundi I heard is pretty good...

for instance, Invincible, which has already been mentioned and I'll second for you, it the first entry if you click the link and scroll down

Specific for you, I don't know where to begin. You give a list of what you own, but don't say which ones you liked and which you didn't and for what reasons, and what sort of books you might like to branch out to. So there aren't really any specifics to give, except for all-around good books, which the Official Recommendations Thread is full of

Absolute Sandman (this way you don't have to hunt for all the trades), Kingdom Come, The New Frontier, Fables and Y:Last Man Standing (ALL volumes; you can get them from ebay, but shop around so you can get a good deal. I got Fables 1-8 plus the HC Snowfalls for 55 plus shipping), Superman: peace on earth...actually I don't even know where to begin when if comes to Superman and Batman trades.

EDIT: Watchmen...you need this one.

EDIT DEUX: Superman Secret Identity, Red Son, Batman Hush, Arkham Asylum, All-Star Superman Vol. 1 (it's coming out soon) Batman: The Long Halloween, Batman: The Killing Joke, Batman The Dark Knight returns, Batman Year One, V for Vendetta, Invincible, and Ex Machina. I've heard 100 Bullets is really good but I haven't read it yet. Um, if you're not up too speed with DC comics start with Identity Crisis and then move up to Infinite Crisis and countdown.
