The Dark Knight Rises 6 Minutes of TDKR footage attached to Mission Impossible 4! - - - - Part 13

It's not for the actual viewers, it's just for the press. Be it justified or not...the prologue has received quite a bit of bad press, at least this brings back some positivity to the masses, and they can be reassured that the "problem" is fixed.

i really would like to see a bootleg with the new audiomix.

Bad press? I think not.

Universally described by the press as "breathtaking action sequence" (some even saying it topped the entire M:I4 movie), with one minor flub -- Bane's dialogue was tough to understand at some points.

I don't know whether to be impressed that such a silly issue received so much press in the first place, or annoyed that the press made such a huge issue of it just to bash TDKR.

So I think I'm going to get drunk. Ciao! ;)

As theShape said above, it did not have bad press, overwhelmingly good press, with one irk that slightly bugged some people. It was more of the forums to take the problem and balloon it to a disaster code red type of thing.

It did have overwhelming good press but as I understand it, most of the press had a problem with the sound mixing (the background noise, etc. drowning out Bane's awesome voice). So I don't it bugged "some people" - it bugged a lot of the press and now it looks like the sound mix issue has been resolved.

Let's ignore the fact that the problem is with the prologue being filmed on the notoriously loud IMAX camera, in a plane with a lot of background noise and a booming Hans Zimmer score, let's also ignore that Bane sounded perfectly fine in the trailer because most of the casual fans and entertainment press do exactly that.

The prologue is meant to (above all) sell the film to the public, it can be as amazing as it was and still have stink on it because the second most important character in the film is incomprehensible to a lot of people, or at least the right people aka the press who spread their word to the average movie goer who doesn't have the time to read transcripts or realise any of the above excuses so he comes out reading that article as: "The Dark Knight Rises Villain is laughably untranslatable". That's bad press...far from some slight irk that bugged a minority.

Indiewire claims that WB said that there's "no truth" to the audio getting remixed.

Interesting...we wouldn't want to think that Nolan was bowing down to the whims of the masses would we? :cwink:

Before you know it he'll be attending nerdcons in a Batsuit.

it doesn't make sense. If this was the first week of release maybe...unless they're planning some re-release of the prologue why bother now?

Just put it with the theatrical version of the film.

My thoughts exactly Rag. WB is only trying to please the critics and media after the dumbfounded blitz over Bane's 'unintelligible' dialogue -- which left me bewildered, as a result. What is the point in modifying the audio when the general audience:

• has already seen the film/prologue

• isn't aware of the changes

• deem the prologue too expensive to view again (or at all)?

If they want their endeavors to pay dividends, they should release the prologue to digital theaters across the country and globe.

It wasn't from Indiewire. It's from one of the authors @ NY Times. Here's thefilmstage's reply: viewers have seen both and reporting that it is indeed a much cleaner version. Looks like they just don't want to own up.

Probably changed it now to gague reactions to whatever mastering was done to make the voice easier to understand. That or they just don't want people not showing up opening night because they think that one nitpick will still hold true in the final cut.

And yeah, it wasn't bad press. People by and large enjoyed the Prologue (I know I did.) Bane even sounded cool... It was just hard to make out what he was saying.

Ah... The one I saw was from the tweet of The Playlist which is a section of Indiewire. But I guess they took that from the NY Times author?

It'll have a chance to compete with ASM then. That's the only way to get to a billion.

:hehe:

I asked Paul Franklin if he could confirm there's new audio, and he actually replied! Unfortunately, being a VFX guy, he didn't know the answer.
@BatmanNewsCom no idea - I only do the pictures!

Read the updated Indiewire article, and you could see the line The New York Times writer Dave Itzkoff has tweeted.....

It's like changing the label o the wine bottle. "...mmm, that's much better...."

Just tell people it's remixed. :D

Nolan always said he was gonna tweek the audio and thats what he did. I really don't see a problem in making sure bane's dialog could be heard bit better. Everyone wins: Nolan doesn't change the voice and we all hear what bane is saying. I can't see what the problem is unless someone feels am overwhelming loyalty over the first mix of the prologue .

The Dark Knight Rises: ReMuxed Alpha Edition - Buy it now on Blu Ray!

But I thought the audio was perfect, and everybody who couldn't hear it properly were all just overly exaggerating the entire thing?

This is why one of the leaked version was easier to understand than the actual showings. I know I can understand the leaked version better than when I went to my Imax.

I concluded it was all an audio mix problem. The background noise was louder than the actors.

I can't wait for this topic to be dead.

He changed the mix...in post production they're messing with Mix all the time.

Nothing monumental happened here. some news site are treating this as if its a win against Nolan, or that Nolan has succumbed to something. It's really so stupid.

:funny:

The bootleg was a bit clearer than the IMAX in theatres, I think.

Agreed. It sounds like just a sound mix change. Internet journalism sometimes sucks.
