I'm pretty sure one person complained about the editing, and that was on here.

Some have mentioned it feels rushed or hastily put together to make it into theaters on time, I feel it's a bit long and could be tightened a bit....but I don't think the editing sticks out as bad like it bothered people on, say, GL (even though this is just one scene). It's probably mostly the temp sound mix that irked some folks.

Yeah, editing is really one of the lower things on the list to 'pick apart' on these, and you'd have to look really hard in comparison to other issues.

We're still looking at a scene out of context, though, so I think it's still too early to fairly judge the editing, much less bigger issues with it.

It starts to drag for me during the ferry scene. I've always felt it was way too long.

For me, I liked the story aspects and all...it's more like we're a bit too 'punch drunk' by the time we get to the hostages, ferry and sonar-vision, etc....so it takes away from the full sensory and story impact. I also think that Zimmer's music just pounds away at you so much for two hours before, it's sorta' like 'alright, already...!'

It's all good...just maybe a bit too heavy a serving overall if you will, but not by much.

That's a good way to put it. The movie, essientially, goes full throttle from the moment it opens to the moment it ends. During my first viewing, I was just about spent when the final showdown between Bats and Joker started up.

For New Yorkers...it's like having Junior's cheesecake after the fried chicken dinner. Its probably the last thing your stomach needs at the time...but you can't go to Junior's and NOT have it.

But what an ending. I just watched it again. That final scene with Batman, Dent, and Gordon is incredible. Gordon with tears running down his face pleading for his son's life to an unhinged Dent was amazing.

The Batvoice got really silly just before Batman got shot.

"He wanted to prove... that even the best ovus.... ku fall."

The bat voice didn't bother me one iota. Bale had one of his best parts there.

Dent: "Why was it me that was the only one that lost everything?"
Batman: "....it wasn't"

The way he says that. The painful look on his face. Knowing he wants to tell Dent he lost Rachel, too, but he can't.

I thought it was an excellent scene...I just think it could have used a bit more 'elbow room' in the storyline, if you will.

Again, upon first viewing, you're a bit too punch-drunk on all the intensity that's already gone on. Yeah, the characters are supposed to be exhausted and at wit's end too, but I don't think this was the viewer 'effect' that was necessarily desired. Ultimately, it's a niggle at most and they really did pack a lot into that movie....and I do think it's better absorbed with additional viewings.

Zimmer's score in the "Lie....like I lied" part was fantastic. Really added to the intensity of the scene. What was the name of that track?

Gotta be honest though...the end sonnet/shpeil by Gordon as Batman's getting away is pretty corny, though....at least it is verbalized like that.
