Empire:
Can we sum the footage up in a word? No. A sound? “Woooargh!” Launching with Gary Oldman’s Commissioner Gordon remembering an old friend we met in The Dark Knight it then segues into the main event. A miniature thrill-ride in and of itself, the prologue features some stunning camera work (clearly Nolan felt like applying some of the tricks and style he mastered oInception) and the opening sequence, which gives us our first look at Bane (Tom Hardy), comes off like a cross between a Bond movie and everything we’ve come to love about Nolan’s Bat-universe. Highlights include one very confused CIA agent, a truly clever attack, superb stuntwork, some threatening words from Mr Bane himself and a lot of clues about his links to the bigger story.

After the prologue came a brief sizzle reel burst of shots from later in the film, which gave us proper looks at Anne Hathaway in full costume, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and a certain wonderful toy. The major feeling we were left with is that we want to see more, and we want to see it right now.
poor guy :(

:awesome:

Why are people complaining about Bane's voice being hard to hear? He's wearing a freakin mask for godssakes!!! Why should it be clear?! When people speak in real life, they don't speak like radio announcers so you can hear them clearly. I love that Nolan's characters speak and speak in their world, not for dumb audience members to hear clearlry; Bane is not a radio personality. Jesus Christ!!!

There's a difference between being authentic and being able to understand someone because its important to the story.

Yeah I think it's one of those two.

Yeah, and that's what has me a little concerned. The first scene they've shown and there's already people buzzing about an unintelligible voice.

I hope it's not a bad omen. Don't think I could stand listening to another round of voice complaints :oldrazz:
lol no. the buzzing I read about in the blurbs are how amazing the prologue is first and foremost.

For the TDK prologue, they didn't touch the sound mix after it was screened in December. But if Nolan's getting a ton of complaints about it, I'm sure he can go back and fix it. Just pointing out that this mix is intended to be final, not just a rough cut.

True. They're not very specific as how much Bane talks, it may be just one line, so it could be intentional. The guy describing the trailer understood Bane very well, line by line.

I don't think it is. Empire did not seem to have a problem with it. I'm not worried in the slightest. And the broken Batman mask got me thinking about what I heard back in November lol I thought of you with that.

Because it is a film and dialog is meant to be heard? I can't believe you genuinely advocate not hearing anything clearly. That is one of the most stupidest thanks I've ever come across in my life.

I wonder what toy Empire is referring to...

I'm guessing its most likely the aerial vehicle cause its the most easily understandable out of context, especially when its a quick cut of it.

Nolan wouldn't put it out if it wasn't completely done with. He didn't tamper with the TDK prologue and he won't tamper with this; it is done. This nonsense about sound is ludicrous. These deaf and dumb people complaining about the sound are clearly morons. There were a lot of people who were saying the same thing about Inception; "We can't hear... What is Watanabe saying, etc?" These people are idiots. And deaf.

Yeah I think it's one of those two.

I'd love to see or hear more about the lobster, but I hope it's the hand held device, because I genuinely have no clue what it is, lol.

That doesn't even make sense. I saw him in person, how much more "live" can you get?

That was sarcasm.

The point was, it doesn't MATTER if you saw him in person, because that's no more authentic an experience than a video recording is, since it's actually MEANT to be viewed as a video recording. This is for a film, not a live performance. Saying "I know what it sounds like more than you do because I heard it in person" doesn't make sense.

What it will "sound like" means what it sounds like in the film. That's what matters, and that's what we care about.

What toy? The Bat? The one Batman was holding in the Empire cover?

I'm guessing the bat-wing/plane/lobster.

Also, might be worth noting that Empire (British) had no note of Bane being unintelligible - could just be that the difficulty is in understanding the accent under the face mask.

It's realistic and documentary like. Are you one of the people who complained about Inception too?

I hear a lot about the great camera work and great acrobatics/stuntwork. Could the hand to hand action be much more improved this time round?

Same here. I hope it's not a sign of things to come. We'll know by next week if it's time to hit the panic button with Bane's voice and dialogue.

You won't hear Empire say there was a bad thing even if there was one.

Okay. Obviously I need to clarify things.

I don't think anyone is suggesting that Bane should speak as if he weren't wearing a mask at all.
But you know, when a character has dialogue that furthers the plot or character development, it's usually important that the character at least be comprehensible.

The problem some of us are having isn't necessarily that Hardy is speaking through a mask - and thus his voice is slightly muffled. The problem is that his dialogue is apparently unintelligible, and that comes from multiple sources. If some of you can't see the legitimate concerns about that, then you're wearing rose-tinted glasses.

Or they just speak English, rather than mangled JapanEnglish.

Watanabe's accent was far too thick at certain points, making it difficult to understand. There's nothing moronic about that.
