I reckon Nolan is just using the prologue to see what kind of response Bane's voice gets, and if it's mostly negative, he'll know to change it.

There's nothing wrong with his voice itself. It's the fact most weren't able to hear it clearly. It's a sound design issue.

Loads of people couldn't understand Batman either and that was never fixed.

Well if the problem with hearing Bane is on Batman level then it's no problem for me. I understand Batman perfectly (save for one or two lines).

I really hope bale tones it down on the bat voice this time around since there were so many complaints about it in TDK

But with the general consensus of all these prologue reports it sounds way less intelligible than that.

It wasn't Bale's fault, his voice was altered in post. Once again it's the sound mixing.

There's a video review of the prologue on IGN. The guys mention the problem with Bane's voice and then give an approximation of how he sounded. Look for it; I was able to understand it. So if its all like that, then perhaps it will not be a problem.

Regardless this is all subjective; we can't really say anything about the voice until we get a solid trailer.

Hey, does anubody know what's going to happen with al DLP Systems?

Since 2008 IMAX teamed with DLP to replace the traditional 70mm projection systems with DLP digital's systems.

I've heard the prologue won't appear in front of the MI4 IMAX Digital screenings, just a trailer...

Do you know if the scenes shot with IMAX will at least show using the entire screen (I know Avatar did) ? Or will that be an exclusive for 70mm projectors??

Any case, that's a problem. IMAX corporation is the one trying to make all the theatres go digital, and then we have studios going for IMAX cameras...

I used to think that was the case until I saw this...

:hehe:
:funny: Haven't seen that before.

Well, he did do the growl in Begins. Can't ignore that, but you could understand what he was saying. Similarly there "Go away" could be heard. But in TDK it began to hurt Bale's voice, and they edited it in post instead. Gill has gone on to confirm this. So the result really isn't Bale's fault IMO... the funny thing is, him "not" toning it down and doing the growls himself (despite what it would do to his throat) would probably improve and be more audible from what we got in TDK.

Avatar didn't film with IMAX cameras. As far as filling the screen for digital LieMAX, they would have to crop the IMAX footage in the same way they cropped it for TDK's Blu-ray release. They might do something along those lines, or they might just have a digital copy of the film in the 2.39:1 aspect.

Link?

Edt: Nevermind :)

I can live with it as long as he isn't speaking very quickly. I wont even begin to pretend as if I truly care that much about it though. I'm going to love it regardless, they've earned that much from me. I'm sure I'll hear it all after my 5th viewing.

You mean TDK's dvd/regular theatrical release?

No, I mean the Blu-ray. They cropped the IMAX footage from 1.43:1 down to 1.78:1 (HDTV aspect ratio). See below:

I think the voice problem is being blown out of proportion. Yes, basically every review has mentioned it, but they've also mentioned that it takes place during a very loud and chaotic scene. I'm sure the voice will be perfectly audible in the rest of the movie.

From that imitation, it sounds like Bane sounds like an old tape recorder.

the piece of his voice we got at the Heinz field shoot already got me puzzled... sounds pretty funny to me ! I'm counting on his badass dialogues and threatening attitude to make it better (and that's why I'm angered at the fact I won't be able to watch the prologue, I wanna hear what it sounds like in the real movie ) !
