61 Nights of Halloween (2024 Edition)

Well, this is easily one of my favorite films of the year. It's crazy that I never even knew this movie existed until like a week ago but all I've heard is praise for it and I can see why. So many great twists and turns in this and it really reminded me a lot of Quentin Tarantino and Oliver Stone's earlier stuff. I'm glad I went into this blind because its definitely one of those films that the less you know going into it the better.

Loved the cinematography and the sound the design in this especially the stuff with the guns which sounded absolutely visceral and probably some of Kyle Gallner's best work to date.

Willa Fitzgerald is the MVP though and damn did she bring it.

8.5/10
Willa you say...

I also tend to forget that Dark Shadows was the last hurrah for Burton and not just Depp but also Helena Bonham Carter, at least up to now, but with Depp being current Depp and HBC being Burton's ex I wouldn't count on a new collaboration any time soon. Talk about the end of an era.

Welcome to the new Burton era ;

Jenna Ortega and Monica Belucci.

Yeah I hope Willa Fitzgerald gets a career boost after this, she was incredible.

Who wants to waste a couple of hours watching the Exorcist series? Only 1 and 3 are any good.

I have seen better movies this year. Some I would count as all time favorites. But nothing felt more like a dream come true then what I saw today. Not even Dune.

Lydia Deetz is THE forever girl.

Would you miss it. Other than Sweeney Todd, what work did you like?

To be fair, the Depp partnership also had Edward, Ed, and Sleepy Hollow. But with Helena, it was really just Sweeney Todd imo.

Winona now has probably the best track record with 4 actual good ones.
I figured that era was the period where it was Johnny and HBC in all his films.

Oh and he did Miss Peregrue House of Burton X-Men.
