Since their is a 60s teens vs. 90s teens thread why not have an 80s vs. 2000s one instead. So lets talk which decade was better. Sports wise, music, tv everything overall.

lol...you took the words out of my mouth!

2000s teens make me weep for the world's future

QFT

Also, at least 80's movies targeted at teenagers were generally enjoyable. :oldrazz::hehe: The modern day teen film market on the other hand, jesus christ................

they're obviously more copycatish.

This is going to be fair. Ask a message board full of people born in the '80's and ask how it compares to the current decade (hint: the present is always hated by those who currently live within it)

As a teenager of the 2000's myself, I, to an extent, fear for the future as well. I don't see myself as the stereotypical teen of today. I don't smoke, I don't do drugs, I enjoy black and white movies, and cheesy b-movies from the 50's. And lastly, I didn't like Transformers 2, unlike most of my friends who were blinded by the flashy special effects and the half-naked women.

I just wanted to open your eyes a bit, we're not all that bad.

You shouldn't weep for the future really because every teenager who has ever lived has done incredibly stupid things, this generation is no different.

Likewise, every current generation has received scrutiny by the previous one.

you'd think with the increased recording of the past people might learn from it more; but each generation has to find out what is fact and what is fiction.

I think you missed the point of the 60/90 thread.

This.

I look at teenagers today and I just go "wtf, I in no way what-so-ever remember being even remotely that stupid."

I truly want them all to go away or at least take them back to the early nineties to show them how it's done.

did you not dispair at your contempories at the time?

This is a tough one, the '80s gave us some pretty crappy things, New Wave music, the fashions and hairstyles were god awful, the whole greed is good trend started in the '80s, TV was very bland and formulaic, however, it also gave us some great cartoons and movie franchises that the current decade is trying to recreate, probably because all the kids who grew up on it, now are gaining the power to bring back their favorite things as kids.

Every time they did something stupid I would just sorta look at them with that "you have got to be kidding me" look. I usually feared for how the future was going to turn out for the younger kids.......now I know.

No sir, I don't like it.

ahh but 80's cartoons were for 90s teens.

but you see that things are as they always were. just you can't see the kids like you through the mass that aren't

2000's teens will be just fine. Again, we always look at the flaws of the current while as time passes we only focus on the good.

I think people generalize this generation of teens too much. after all it's some of the 80's teens raising some of us. but i do agree being a 2000s teen that we are messed up lol.
