That convo was pretty good...shame you had to close it per OP request. So let us continue this.

So let me begin.

2000 < 80's movies.

GO. Argue!

I guess so. But i think people tired of the 80s vs. 2000s talk now. All it was was getting heated cause people had certain opinions and well bad stuff happened.

Haha, oh man. I'm still recovering.

Wait until Matt Murdock gets off his probational ban. Then the ****is going to hit the fan!

timecop was made in the 90's.

game, set, match.

He was pretty harsh to Scarcrow. I mean, we all argued for a bit, but he definately took it up a notch.

I was discussing this with one of my interns, who I feel is very typical of his generation. We got on the topic of Family Guy vs. the Simpsons and the one point I made is how much "funnier" Family Guy is even though I specifically asked him about certain jokes that went right over his head. (i.e., Dudley and the Bicycle shop owner, Tootsie, etc.)

With the exception of the comic movies that have flooded this decade, 80's beat the 00's in a landslide.

What about sports? I find sports movies incredibly boring, because I'd rather watch the real thing. Hence my hatred for the Rocky movies. The premise comes off as incredibly dumb to me, plus during that decade we saw some of boxing's best. Why would you want to watch fictionalized Rocky fight when Sugar Ray Leonard was tearing things up, Larry Holmes was still doing his thing, Hagler was beasting it, and Tyson was knocking guys silly? Comparing the sports of both decades, the 80s win on basketball and boxing, 2000 wins on football(American football to non U.S. posters) and combat sports. I'm not much into baseball or soccer(football) so I can't speak on that. The Summer Olympics are pretty even. The 80s had Carl Lewis and the 2000s have Michael Phelps. The thing that gives 2000 sports the edge is in the combat department. 80s boxing was much better than today's boxing, but mixed martial arts have had a great rise this decade. PRIDE had a really good run in Japan for alot of this decade, and UFC has steadily risen to something that's becoming quite legendary. Plus boxing still has some great fighters like Mayweather, Pacquio, Chad Dawson, etc. When it comes to the NFL it's not even close. I'm sure some people will think different, and that's cool. But take off the nostalgia glasses, and you'll see that this is the most competitive time in the history of the NFL. The phrase "any given Sunday" takes literal meaning nowadays.

I think sports in 2000s tied with 80s.

I can see how you can argue that. The great thing about sports is that there's always greatness up for debate. Personally I love it when opponents are so evenly matched. That's why I love the NFL so much now. I'm a huge football fan, and it gets more exciting when every team has a chance. And this is coming from a huge Cowboys fan. I loved it when they were on top in the 90s, but I love the NFL more when any team(except the Lions and Raiders) has a chance to win it all.

Yeah i feel you man. NFL is a great sport and fun to watch. Cannot wait for the upcoming season. But so is basketball too. I think NBA is better now then what it was during the 80s. You have ton of teams who have a chance every year at winning a title. In the 80s however you knew either Boston or LA was gonna win it.

80's movies vs. 2000 movies? Meh.

I am a child of the 80's so the 80's wins. Doesn't matter what decade it is horrible movies come out in all decades.

Now...if you want to get into a 80's cartoons versus 2000 cartoons...well, all I gotta say is the 80's wins hands down. I mean the 80's cartoons are getting made into major motion pictures now. BOOM!

Plus the 1980's are also where the big boom of video games came from. All you whipper snappers playing your X-Box's and Playstation 3's better be kissing the kids from the 80's asses for going to the arcades and buying Nintendo's. And that's that...

The 80's win.

And it has NOTHING to do with the fact that I was a kid and had no responsibilities! :whatever::oldrazz:
