i did'nt like drive either glad it was'nt nominated 7/10 at best

Drive has a lot of great moments but then not so great/boring moments where it really slowed the film down. If they edit out a couple of scenes and added a few more scenes where you got to know the antagonist more or something worth adding to the story, it would've been an easy 9/10. I think I gave it I gave it a 8/10.

Drive was awesome! Albert Brooks should have gotten nominated imo.

This year sucked for movies. These are the most boring nominations I think Ive seen.

i personally liked the blockbusters of 2011 more than the oscar films of 2011

Absolutely disagree, there was more great films than terrible ones last year in a long time.

Agreed. I think a majority of them were better overall films. Some of them even have a better critic approval rating.

My bad, I meant the Oscar nominated films. This year definitely had some good flicks.

no Tin Tin for best animated feature? Are you like ****ing kidding? What the hell were the academy thinking... I don't care about any of the other awards but this one and it didn't even get nominated? wtf... Kung Fu Panda 2 and that stupid Shrek knock off film were NOT better than Tin Tin... Academy chose some overall interesting choices and it's good Gary Oldman got picked nominated for best actor but seriously, the academy really ****ed up big on Tin Tin... idiots

You seem irate.

It's clear the "motion-capture is not consider as an animation technique" rule was what shut Tintin from the category. Anyway, I'm pleased with this year's nominees with its mix of art house films (A Cat in Paris and Chico & Rita) and Hollywood movies (Rango, Kung Fu Panda 2 & Puss in Boots). Best of both worlds (IMO).

Hopefully Rango wins, I'm glad that they still remembered it and thank god Cars 2 didnt get a nod.

The funny thing is for me at least is that I saw Ku Fu Panda 2, Puss in boots and Rango.
I like Rango but to be honest I enjoyed Puss in boots much more.

Rango should win for honestly going outside the box with its whole character design and surreal nature.

Rango was awesome. I'm definitely rooting for it.

anyone think Glenn close might get the oscar as a lifetime achievement

this is Glenn Close's 6th Oscar nomination never won yet

I think Glenn Close is going to win but Leo got snubbed lol but I honestly dont think hes going to win a oscar untill hes like 40 or something.

Drive got a nomination for Best Sound Editing, obviously people were hoping for something bigger.

Leonardo should eventually win one with the pedigree he's built up assuming the right role comes at the right time. I mean I'm glad Oldman finally got his.

Loved the slowness of Drive. And not getting to know the antagonist too much was crucial. And there wasn't much could add to the story without taking away the feeling, it wasn't meant to be thick.

Leo will most likely get it for Gatsby.

Well since we're doing some assumptions, I think there's a good chance Daniel Day Lewis will take it again. If the release dates aren't changed.
