Can Michael Bay's best film prevent it from being an all Arnie and Cameron final? :wow:

This one isn't hard.

By the way, king of the world, where the **** is the blu-ray of True Lies? Even Rian Johnson and Ryan Reynolds are puzzled by it.

True Lies all the way, even if The Rock was that last good Michael Bay movie.

The Rock as a very, very fun action film where indeed, Bay's worst tendencies had not taken center stage (they're not absent by no means, but they don't call as much attention to themselves as his later work...) and it's a great 90's popcorn film.

However... True Lies. It's almost got it all in terms of entertainment value. 100% true... For many years when my mom and grandma wanted to pop in a film that had a little of everything (Romance, action, comedy...), True Lies was often the go to choice.

Can't go against mom and grandma. Gotta choose True Lies.

Had to go with The Rock. Nic Cage taking himself very seriously beats Arnold Schwarzenegger trying to be serious.

Interesting you see it that way cuz I think Arnold actually is going very light hearted and is super humorous in TL.

I think of TL as "serious" Arnold because it was the first movie of his in a long time where he's a character trying to pass himself off as a human being instead of being a walking quip and gun arsenal.

Okay... I can see that POV.

I'm a huge fan of both these movies, two of the best action films ever IMO, The Rock transplants the Die Hard blueprint successfully to Alcatraz, Bay adds in a bit of his military porn and throws in an awesome Ferrari vs Humvee chase sequence on the iconic San Francisco hills.

I voted for True Lies though and I'll expand on my thoughts on that movie in the OP of the final, which will be an all Cameron and Arnie affair, this was at least a close contest though.
