how much would you pay to play an online game that had a cash prize of 50k to the highest score, and smaller prizes throughout? Lets say the game took 1 month to beat hypothetically

ive been talking with friends about an idea for an online game, but we are scared of its ability to make any money

Are you talking about a competitive multiplayer game or just a single player game? Why would it take a month to finish? I'm having difficulty understanding what you are saying.

You're going to have a real hard time making money if you're giving people cash prizes to play.

Regardless of what the game actually is, I wouldn't pay anything to play it. A game that gives out prizes like that would attract competitors which would surely outclass me, thus giving me no hope of winning.

My big thing would be is how secure is the game? Cause I wouldn't want to invest that much effort into something only to find out that in the end, some people were able to cheat their way to the top of the leaderboards.

They have these already. They're called progressive jackpot slot machines..... ;)

How bout you give me the game I beat it in 2 weeks and you give me 100K plus small prizes for the rest of my liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiife :awesome:

competitive multiplayer
basically, the idea is to have one live individual trapped in a "saw-esque" environment. He has to get through themed puzzles like tomb raider or resident evil. The problem for the guy in the room is that the puzzles are made so that he has no chance of solving them alone, so he needs the viewers to participate. As they get him further they win prizes, so its like a video game, but with a real person in the environments, and your basically dictating his moves.

in the end, the top players would be brought to the environment as well, and compete for the winning spot.

it is like combining a video game with a reality show

Of course not, basically here is the premise
Looking to prove that the public is insatiable for viewing the suffering of others, a mysterious mastermind sets up a room of psychological torture in an unknown location. A real website goes live with a 24/7 live feed of a prisoner left to die inside the room.

The worlds potentially largest Cross Platform Scavenger Hunt, Find Me presents the world a broken puzzle, with clues hidden everywhere. Will the audience come together to save the prisoner before madness sets in, or will the evil mastermind prove his point?

You really need to stop watching so many horror movies and playing so many horror games.

So... 1 vs. 100 where the 1 has the bear-trap mask on, and the audience knows where the key is.
