i've only just read about this on imdb..but i thought it deserved a thread considering it's supposed release next year, extremely imaginative and intriguing storyline:

In the fictional Victorian town of Burgue, fantastical creatures vampires and faeries live alongside humans. These mythological inhabitants, subjugated by the humans, are forced into either menial or criminal lines of work to merely survive, such as drug dealing vampires and fairy prostitutes. When a serial killer begins murdering the faeries, a la Jack The Ripper, a human detective who's been engaged in a taboo relationship with a fairy courtesan becomes the prime suspect and he sets out to clear his name by finding the true culprit.

Guillermo Del Toro was first attached to direct the film. Unfortunately, he had to bail out (for Hellboy 2) and now Neil Jordan, who I believe is equally in tune with the storyline, is now on the film and actively developing it.

Damn, if Del Toro did this, whoa, the images would be ever lasting.
There's a lot of good stuff lined up.

I was very excited when he had signed on. I think Hellboy 2 is certainly a film to see, though.
