From Kristen over at E Online:

Holy Shocker! A Major Death Is Coming to Heroes
Today 10:25 AM PDT by Kristin Dos Santos

Ouch.

This one is going to leave a mark.

Sources over on NBC's Heroes confirm to me that a major death is in the works, and this is not one that will go unnoticed by even the most casual fan.

It is huge.

So who is it?

Well, you know how these things go...We can't come right out and name any names. (Unless someone can hook me up right quick with the Witness Protection Program?)

However, I will tell you that this leading character is a male, and he is not necessarily pictured above. (He might be, he might not be.) And he is one of the original cast.

And you thought Hayden's same-sex kiss was surprising, eh?

Clearly the producers are pulling out all the stops this season in an effort to ramp up storylines and pull out a big watercooler-worthy surprise.

But I have to say that I, for one, will miss this guy. Big-time.

Now here's the fun and torturous part for you: Start guessing below...

And from Ausiello at EW.com:

Blind item: Fired actor's pink slip hidden in script!
by Michael Ausiello
Categories: Blind Item, News

I get that there's no easy way to lay someone off, but, come on, this is ridiculous: A male series regular on a one-hour drama - a onetime ratings powerhouse - learned that he was out of a job only after reading his character's death scene in the script!

According to my mole, the popular and well-respected leading man - who tapes his final scenes this week - was blindsided not just by his ouster, but by the tacky way in which it was handled. "He was hurt that the producers didn't tell him first," says the source. "He deserved better."

The real surprise is that, well, anyone was surprised at all. The actors on said show have long been frustrated by the lack of communication coming from the front office. Still, as the insider points out, "This was low even for them."

So, who'll be looking for work starting next week? And what show does he currently star on? Here's the first of two hints: It's not - I repeat not - Grey's Anatomy. Look for that second hint in this week's Ask Ausiello.

And from Greg Grunbergs Twitter account:

greggrunberg Yes, one of the main character is getting killed off for realzies!! Sad but true. Really sad. Stay tuned.

Just one? That's sad.

Seriously though, I hope it's either Hiro or Sylar. I hate them both more than the others. However, none of the possibilities really upset me. I am just not attached to these characters like I used to be.

Hmm, I'm curious who it is. I hope it's not Peter or Noah. I guess on one hand they would be the most effective deaths in terms of affecting the audience but on the other it would seriously annoy me to have their character arcs cut short like that when they're both on an interesting path.

I think it will either be Matt , Mohinder or Noah. Sylar would be a shock but it would also make sense. Pete seems to important and Hiro's death might alienate some of the fans.

MOHINDER...

PLEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASE let it be Mohinder

I think its either Mohinder or Nathan. The actor of Nathan is still a live, Sylar coming back would kill the guy. Mohinder, well he does nothing. I'm pretty sure every one hates him :oldrazz:

They'd be screwed if they killed Peter or Sylar.

Nathan is already dead so that wouldnt be a shocker. My guess is Matt Parkman. I still think Tracy or Claire shouldve been kicked off

Ah I forgot about Parkman. I say its him. They're not gonna kill Peter and hasnt Noah already died like 3 times already? lol I say get rid of Hiro, Parkman or Sylar. The show doesnt need them anymore.

Yea, then they can finally turn this show into the gigantic sausagefest they've been wanting it to be for quite some time now. :whatever:

I wouldn't mind, it'd get Ali and Hayden off this sinking ship so they could hopefully go onto greener pastures.

Claire pretty much immortal so no chance of that, won't be Sylar. He been killed enough times. Better not be Hiro, I like the dude

Really with the way it's worded it seems like it'll be one of the bigger, more important character's which excludes Mohinder and Matt - them dying may be big but it would really have no huge impact on the show itself.

I'm confident in saying they probably won't be killing off Peter. I think it's either Hiro, Noah, or Sylar. I'm not so sure they'd kill off Noah.

I'm thinking the one to bite the big one this season will be be Hiro or Sylar.

Mohinder isn't even part of the show anymore so bringing back just to kill him off would be pretty pointless. No one would even care about Mohinder's death really so it's not worthy of being considered a big moment.. I was a big fan of Mohinder in Season 1 but his character is completely worthless now. He should have been written out a long time ago and had his character arc completed.

I doubt it's Parkman because apparently the actor was pissed when he found out and Greg didn't seem too bitter in that post.

I agree Hiro and Sylar are the most likely. I wouldn't miss them really. Maybe if Hiro had developed beyond comic relief after season 2 but it's too late for that now.

Hiro dying would be the most talked about , I think.

I'm gonna go ahead and go with Parkman.

What episode is this supposed to happen?

they could atleast bury clair alive for a season. Stick with Ali

It's not Hiro. Hiro's story arc is about him possibly dying, so why would that shock the actor? It's definitely Noah or Parkman. They're both big names on the show and I don't think either of their respective actors would expect the characters to be killed off. Peter and Sylar aren't options to me just because they're pretty integral to the current storylines. However it's a possibility. Where is Mohinder by the way? It's odd that he hasn't been featured in any way.

I don't have anything against Parkman, but I would rather see him go instead of Noah. However, I have a bad feeling that it will be Noah. The first few shows have dealt with Claire growing and learning to fix her mistakes and blah blah blah. This all could be a precursor to Noah's death. On the flip side, if this scenario is the case, then Claire really should be the one to get killed off to further Noah's character. But whatever, I guess we'll have to wait and see.

I have a bad feeling its going to be Noah. Hiro, Sylar, and Claire are on the ads for Season 6 so I think they're going to be in it for a while, and like I said it didn't sound like Greg was referring to himself.

...NO DONT!

The two that I don't think it will be is Peter (since they killed off Nathan, I don't think they will kill off Peter), and Hiro (They have been alluding to his dying for a while now and it wouldn't be a shock because of this)...so, I will go with Parkman, or Noah....these two would be shocking if they killed them off.

I disagree. I mean they fooled us with Parkman's and Noah's deaths many times so it wouldn't be a shock but Hiro is one of the Heroes Trinity (Claire, Sylar, Hiro) it would be a shock.

I can't help it. He was a semi-interesting character in the first and second seasons.

I'm calling it. Noah dies a cheap death to somehow unnecessarily escalate Claire's storyline.
